“Stopped by for an afternoon coffee break between shoots a few days ago and ended up staying way longer than planned. The pearl milk tea with that perfectly torched top was almost too pretty to drink, though I got a few decent shots in before giving in. Staff were genuinely friendly and didn't rush me even though I was clearly hogging a window seat for the light. Nice chill spot if you need a break downtown and want something photogenic that actually tastes good too.“

“Got recommended the sparkling mango and it's pretty good. I like that it has small pieces of mango in it and that the sparkling water added wasn't too carbonated. Overall good mango flavor and sweetness at half sugar.

Atmosphere is cozy. Lots of kpop decor on the walls and cushioned seats.

Owner was really nice. When I asked for a cup holder she used a knife to cut a 4 cup cup holder in half so it could fit in my bag. Really grateful for that.“

“I tried the Hojicha Banana, and it was pretty good. It had a generous layer of banana puree at the bottom, topped with hojicha milk. The banana flavor was quite strong and almost completely overpowered the hojicha, so I'd love to see a better balance between the two.
They also had some ice cream and other desserts that looked really good. I'd definitely come back to try them next time.“

“Accidentally placed my DoorDash order as pickup instead of delivery, and unfortunately, DoorDash wasn’t able to change it or issue a refund. I contacted Ruka Coffee and explained what happened, and the owner/staff member went above and beyond by personally delivering my order to me, even though I was 15–20 minutes away. He even remade my coffee! I was honestly so impressed by their kindness and incredible customer service. I really thought I’d have to forgo my order, so I truly appreciate them going out of their way to help. Amazing service and such a thoughtful team! “The UberEats order pick up was quick and smooth. The peach and lychee slush drinks were ordered with a special note that they be made with 30% sugar. I was not sure if they would accommodate this because other bubble tea places have denied sugar modifications for slushy drinks and smoothies. The gentleman working there immediately gave me the drinks upon seeing me and explained he made them less sweet by only adding a certain type of syrup and no other added sugar. Not quite 30% but definitely less sweet. I appreciated this!“

“I tried the Ice Cream Matcha Latte with less sweet and less ice. It tasted like a milky matcha drink and is refreshing on a hot day. Good balance of matcha and milk/ice cream. The matcha wasn’t bitter or grassy. I found less sweet to be right for me. My mom found ‘less sweet’ a little too sweet for her due to the ice cream. So, some seniors might be able to do no sweet if there is ice cream in the drink. I can’t wait to try other drinks!“

“Took the kids to Bubble World Tea House last Saturday afternoon and it was an easy win for the whole family. The taro milk tea with boba was a hit with my seven year old, and the staff even brought out smaller cup sizes for the kids without us asking. It's a small spot so we grabbed the corner table near the window, plenty of room for a stroller and no rush from anyone to turn the table over. We'll definitely be back for a quick treat after school pickup.“

“The Alley 鹿角巷 used to be EVERYWHERE in Metro Vancouver during the peak bubble tea era, and now the Downtown Vancouver location is the last one standing. 👀🧋

Although bubble tea trends have shifted over time, this place still brings a sense of nostalgia and comfort whenever we visit downtown.

The location is very convenient, just a few minutes’ walk from the Scotiabank Theatre Vancouver on Burrard Street. It’s a great spot to grab a drink before or after a movie, especially since they stay open until 11 PM.

Our go-to order is ALWAYS the Brown Sugar Deerioca series 🤎. The pearls are chewy, the brown sugar flavour is rich, and the large size is definitely worth it if you’re walking around downtown all day. 😂

If you’re visiting for the first time, I recommend starting with these options:

“On an adventure eating my way through the Vietnamese spots in the Lower Mainland:

I actually forgot to review Hanoi Corner when I first came two years ago. I did find and upload some of the pics from that first visit, it also helped to jog my memory. First time around was so-so. The Banh mi was tasty but some of the cilantro were dead-ish. It was also one of the early cafes offering some different versions of Vietnamese coffee like egg, salted etc. which are more common in most shops now.

This second visit was much better, even though prices have gone up a bit. But what hasn’t gone up in price these past couple years. Seems like the average price for a Banh mi around the city is 10 bucks a pop. I had the meatball Banh mi. It’s made from pork and cooked in a tomato based sauce. I quite enjoyed this version as the meat had a good texture to it (some other places the meat balls were too crumbly). Veggies were fresh this time and jalepenos had some kick to them!

They have more than just banh mi, they have noodles, chicken wings, spring rolls and the drink menu is quite extensive.“

“We were craving waffles and wondering if Gong Cha still have any available, so we called in and the staff recommended many options, while we were undecided on what to choose over the phone, he said we can just order in store and he will be waiting for us to come by. In Hawaii, we have a lot of tea drinks that have boba and are mostly watery. I decided on a favorite, the coconut mango sago. You're instructed to shake it beforehand. There were tons of mango pieces and I got it less sweet. This almost felt like a meal it was so delicious and thicker than I'm used to. I would definitely come back if in the area.“
