“Literally my favourite place to eat downtown. I probably go 3 times a month, easy.Everything is good, but my standouts are the bun cha, wings, trifecta rice, and the bbq pork bahn mi. My partner is vegetarian and she has lots to choose from, really lives the pho. Sometimes they have DJs!“
“Service and food was beyond expectations. The fried chicken really is one of the best I’ve ever had. The dry egg noodles was very good too, dry at first until you mix the sauce around. It could use more shrimp though. Service was very kind and food came out extremely quick.“
“Had a lemongrass chicken bahn mi today and it was the best I've ever had. Squishy fresh bun, juicy chicken and lots of it, and not spicy. Delicious! Not often my expectations are exceeded when going out for food anymore but these folks deserve 5 stars.“
“There was always a line, so I went around opening time. The staff, especially the staff at the bar, were very friendly! The food was delicious too! It's a little more expensive than other Vietnamese restaurants, but I think it's worth considering.“
“I have been many Vietnamese restaurants in my life. some are in Toronto, some in Ottawa, some in Sudbury, some in Chengdu, some in Vancouver. most of the place were good in terms of the flavour. but one thing I have been craving for is the dinning experience. good chef is not rare in the world, but a qualified manager is really rare, it is like the intangible human resources in a company. I really enjoyed my short stay at Tre Viet. it was très bien. and I even liked the way the owner deliver its foreign culture to the locals, we are all immigrants, and that's the most beautiful part of this land, we might be different, but one thing is the same, that is the good food and good manners.“
“Had the "BÚN CÁ CHẤM HÀ NỘI STYLE FISH VERMICELLI PLATTER" and it was my favourite meal of 2024! The fish lettuce wraps were unbelievably tasty, and the spicy tomato soup had plenty of quality vegetables, prawns, and super tasty house made meatballs. The renovation is really great, service was perfect (they shared how to best enjoy the dish), had my own tea pot and water....and was there for happy hour (2-5pm) for 15% off ?Will be back here soon, likely with a friend or 2.“
“Absolutely!"Outstanding experience at VietSub Vietnamese Cuisine! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly. The ambiance was charming, the food exquisite, and the service impeccable. Highly recommend for a memorable dining experience!"“
“I ordered lemon grass chicken. It was outstanding. I can't believe it's in a food court, Only downside was paper plate let dressing soak in. I had a long delay at the airport, read the review, and took the train downtown. I'm glad I did!“
“Definitely Do Chay! This was my third time here and I will return again and again. The vegetarian cuisine is shockingly delicious and will have your most devout meat eaters worshipping plants. The food is not only delicious but beautiful and thoughtful. The owners and service team are always warm and welcoming - this is a Vancouver gem. Top marks for: Truffle Dumplings (I want to swim in the sauce) and Black Garlic Eggplant.“
“I've been here at least half a dozen times and enjoy it every time. I'm not a vegan but really enjoy their food! My favorites are the khoe bowl, shroom bao, and the don't miss the mango dessert! Definitely recommend for vegans or not vegans.“
“Have come here a few times and each time was good service, quality food with decent portions. We both accidentally ordered the wrong bowl of pho but we were happy with trying something different since it didn’t skimp out on the beef portions we originally wanted. Normally not a fan of beef balls but this was actually quite tasty. The young server has been there a while and is always greeting with a smile and bantering with customers. A little friendliness goes a long way.“
“Considering how healthy and natural this food is, I was pleasantly surprised. I had the Bun Hue, which had a pretty mild lemongrass flavor and was perfectly spicy, and the fresh tofu rolls, which were delcious. Would definitely go back to try other items when I’m in the mood for health food.“
“I recently returned to visit this location and everything is as great as I remembered. Come back several times to try out different dishes. Bring your friends and try their food too:) everything is delicious!Vegetarian options: Everything is vegan, and the meat lovers won’t miss it!“
“What sets Pho 37 apart is their attention to detail. You'll find a platter of fresh bean sprouts, basil leaves, lime wedges, and jalapeños on the side, allowing you to customize your bowl to your liking. The condiments and sauces are top-notch, adding an extra layer of depth to your pho experience.“
“Amazing little hidden gem. Feels homey ans family run. Amazing food and great veg options.Their pho beef noodle soup was incredible and easily one of the best spots I've stopped off at in the city. Also had a lemongrass chicken bahn mi; needless to say I will be “
“Fav place in Vanc for excellent food - casual atmosphere - spotlessCheck out SPCA thrift store adjacentMy favourite stop for rare beef pho when I’m in your city (from Kelowna) line ups crazy at noon go earlier or later (people come from N Vanc to eat here).“
“The owner is very friendly. He helped me on the best recommendation on the menu & he recommended me the Dac Biet (Deluxe Cold Cut) and the bread is served very Warm & Fresh & the Smoothie is fresh as well & everything on the menu are very affordable as well. The atmosphere is great to relax or get some work done as well while you're eating some great food from the menu. Definitely try this place out for some great & affordable eats while enjoying the atmosphere of the place as well. =)“
“From the first bite of the fresh spring rolls, filled with vibrant herbs and crunchy vegetables, to the soul-warming fragrance of the pho, every dish surpassed our wildest expectations. It was as if each flavor was carefully crafted to transport us to the bustling streets of Vietnam. With every bite, we savored the authenticity and depth of Vietnamese cuisine, leaving us longing for more.“
“I've passed by this place for years but only came in yesterday. I should have come sooner what with all the laudatory posts on social media from academics and critics alike about this place. I ordered pho, and the person I was with had the shrimp salad roll and spring roll. All were brought out efficiently, even too quickly after ordering but all the items we had were fresh, well presented and flavourful. The pho looks basic enough but the layers in the flavour come through in the care taken to prepare, the time taken to prepare the broth but as well in the freshness of the noodles, meat and the crisp vegetables that accompany the soup. The place is also bigger than the frontage suggests. The bill came to just over $29 and it was well worth it.“
“We had an amazing experience at Pho Khanh Express! Their vermicelli bowls are fresh and flavorful, and their pho is rich and satisfying. It's clear that they use high-quality ingredients, and the friendly service made the meal even better. I highly recommend trying their vermicelli and pho – you won't be disappointed!“
“My friend and I had a great experience. There was a mistake on our Crispy Rice Aburi, but the owner fixed it right away and even took it off our bill! Our server was also amazing and very attentive. The food was delicious. Would come back again! Excellent food and service. Would highly recommend!“
“The beef pho is very delicious! The environment is also very comfortableThe soup is sweet and refreshing. You must squeeze the lemon juice. It’s a delicious taste that you won’t get tired of eating~~~If I lived here I would come here often“
“Great taste with reasonable price and great services. We got wrong orders but it was me who did not communicate our orders clearly, and it was not at all a mistake from their part. Once the waiter and owner knew of the wrong orders, they were more than happy to redo our orders and make sure we get what we intended to order. Will definitely be back!!“
“Exceptional food and service here. Hidden gem in East Vancouver.Owner and staff are always very nice and willing to serve. They also have speciality dishes like crab meat spring roll which really stands out from other places.A restaurant that worth the wait and drive to here!“
“We went in a few days ago and had an awesome time with great food and even better service. The meal was however almost ruined by some noisy entitled customer that felt it was his duty to be as rude and threatening as possible with the staff.Even at one point creating a scene by refusing to leave and threatening the staff with countless bad reviews. Some people should just not be allowed outside.especially ones that think the world revolves around their every want and need. Thanks for an awkward situation mate.Good thing the delicious food and accommodating staff made up for it!like Arnie,Ill be back.“
“More like a 4.5 rating. Randomly discovered this place through social media. It operates in coho commissary kitchen so it is takeout and delivery only. I ordered through delivery app and was able to pick up my order at a reasonable time. Got the Deluxe Bowl with grilled prawns and striploin steak, Chicken Banh Mi and Spring Rolls. The bowl and banh mi were delicious with fresh ingredients and balanced flavors. 1/2 star deducted because of the spring rolls. They were a bit too salty to be eaten on its own. Taste better with the vermicelli. Portion size was ample and I got a good deal from Uber Eats. I would definitely go back especially for the banh mi!“
“Having dined at Pho & Roll for the first time, I'm thrilled to say it was a delightful experience. From the inviting ambiance to the flavorful Pho and friendly service, everything was superb. Definitely try their Fresh Spring Rolls as well. Looking forward to my next visit!“
“Delicious noodles and cute folk art style decor!Beef noodle soup had a lot of juicy beef slices and its broth was light but very tasty. Was so good we almost drunk it all!Fish cake soup was also very good with lighter broth with tons of fish cakes. It had a kick of flavour from dill and shallot. Also tried vermicelli with pork belly slices and spring rolls. It was first time I tried anything like that but I liked it a lot! The sauce went very well with the noodle and veggies.I would rate all those noodles 5 stars! I have tried their crepe, wings, and crab spring rolls in the past and rate them 4 stars. All their drinks are excellent, too! 5 stars!“
“This is my favorite place for banh mi, Vietnamese sandwiches. Try out the shredded chicken sandwich, highly recommended; crusty bun, flavorful sauce, and juicy chicken meat, which tastes perfect. Their salad rolls and vermicelli bowl noodles are good too; the vegetables and herb used are so fresh. Friendly staff and I really enjoyed the good services.“
“Visit this restaurant! The owner, I think her name is Bethany, is one of the best business owners you'll ever meet. If not for anything, just go for the customer service and the wonderful smiles you'll be greeted with. Just good vibes! When you walk in, the aroma hits you and you immediately start imagining the food in your mouth. The warmth and friendliness from the owner and the ladies who work here just makes the whole experience even better! I came here a lot while I was still at SFU and her veggie pho was one of the highlights of my University experience especially during the winter months. The salad rolls and lemongrass chicken are also quite tasty. I had to give her a present when I was leaving as I wouldn't be in the area as much anymore. Many blessings to you Bethany!“
“Went to this place for a quick lunch, it was really nice and homely. The food was served quickly. The Green Roll was really nice and well made. And it was only $8!! They have a variety of options to choose from. I heard the Pho is the bestseller here. It's a small family run business, so please be polite. The server was really polite and respectful. We chatted for a little while and it was a really great experience. Will definitely go back again.“
“Kind service, really good food. We took our kids, even with them the bartender/server was great.I’d recommend ally he dishes we tried crispy noodles, pad Thai, and really great salad rolls. Really surprised that a place that does different cuisines does them so well. We will be back.Vegetarian options: Lots of tofu based dishes.Kid-friendliness: High chairs, lots of good dishes for kids.“
“Came around 6PM on a Wednesday, it was quiet so a lot of seating. The pho was some of the best I’ve had in the area, and i’d love to try out more when i come again. My partner tried the bun bo hue for the first time and said it was delicious as well. I’ve had it before at different places and think it’s not to everybody’s taste, but it’s done very well here.Service was quick and kind, the place was clean.Overall, would come again“
“Doi is the sister restaurant to Khoe. Where Khoe offers up amazing vegan Vietnamese rice noodle bowls, Doi has a variety of banh mis and baos - all vegan too of course.I ordered a sampling of banh mis and baos for me and my partner to enjoy: chick’n banh mi and bao, tofu banh mi, and shroom bao.Everything was fresh and tasty, and of the same great portions and quality I’ve come to expect from Khoe.I highly recommend everyone orders regularly from here, even your omni friends will enjoy it!My only “complaint”? I’d love to be able to order from both restaurants / menus at once so that I don’t have to pay double the Uber eats service and delivery fees. I’m not quite sure why they are operating as two different entities, but I’m sure there must be a good reason for them. Just sucks a bit for me for my future orders :)Keep up the great work team!“
“Tasty authentic Vietnamese restaurant in Vancouver! ???I recommend ordering the Bún bò Huế which is slightly spicy but tolerable and a lot less spicy than Chinese hot pot spicy broths in my opinion. The Bún bò Huế came piping hot and smelled amazing. There’s layers of flavour in the broth and the meats were cooked to perfection. There’s even coagulated blood in this dish which I’ve never tried before and I thought it was pretty good - it didn’t taste like iron or anything.I also recommend ordering an iced Vietnamese coffee with your meal. The iced Vietnamese coffee here is strong and refreshing. ☕️Overall this is a great Vietnamese restaurant that not only serves your typical Pho but also serves central Vietnamese dishes like the Bún bò Huế.Parking: There’s really not a lot of parking around this area which is typical of Vancouver neighbourhoods. That being said, if you plan on driving and want to find free parking - there is several free street parking West of Main Street within the residential areas…just make sure you do not park in front of the “permit only” streets.“
“There is a huge variety of food. Love the creativity. I love finding places like this! I got a drink and a dessert. The dessert is good but the drink was not. I do think they should focus on what they know they can make good and refine the menu. The cafe itself is really cute. There’s a lot going on. There’s clearly photoshoot spots. And as someone had mentioned here in the reviews there is a strange smell.Overall I will come back and try some new things.“
“We have had the noodle bowls and the pho here and they are absolutely fantastic. Fresh, tasty, comforting food. One bowl was enough for two of us adults to share. Though I’m sure if you were hungry enough you could polish one off on your own.Reasonably sized servings for price. We will happily return here next time we are in Vancouver City.“
“I've been to this restaurant several times and they never disappoint. from the moment you walk in they welcome you and treat you with such professionalism and warmth that makes you want to come back every time. On top of that the menu is great and they have a superb vegetarian section too. The chef's are also flexible if you have an allergy or food sensitivity. To top it all the food comes in a superb presentation and tastes amazing. I highly recommend anyone to go there and enjoy the place. A bonus for the social media picture fans it's super cute to take pics there as it's so nicely decorated and even in the restroom.“
“Great food, well prepared and no corners cut.I'd been coming here weekly many years ago, and just had a chance to revisit. Its as good as I remembered, and definitely recommend you try it. The Vietnamese crepe is particularly brilliant.“
“Hole in the wall don't judge a book by its cover! With this little restaurant operated by only 2 people. Food is great and serivice is efficient. Love this place! Was introduced by a friend that always comes here for their Bun Bo Hue and Banh Canh Cua. My fave is the Banh canh cua and iced Cafe su da!“
“Hong Phat is a great restaurant for South Vietnamese (Do not get it mixed up with North Vietnamese Pho as it is very different style) comfort food. I was introduced to this place by my girlfriend and we go there once in a while to enjoy their food. Had a chance to try their new menu today and they added a few new items on there. As always, it was a pleasant meal. The staff overall is very courteous and helpful when taking order and helping out. Highly recommended for lunch/brunch for a good price in the current economy! The Salted Caramel Coffee is a MUST HAVE for those who are coffee drinkers! It is a great combination of the South Vietnamese coffee robusta beans with a nice layer of salted foam on the top. Great balance of the coffee.“
“Delicious ban mi and crispy Vietnamese buns, great value for food and the service was very friendly when I went. They didn't have avacados to make a smoothie for me so they offered to go out and buy some. Often not busy, nice quiet spot for “
“I bought Vietnamese rice rolls here and it was very delicious. I didn’t expect that the sprouts that came with it were a lot. It was a kind of portion that can only be seen in YouTube videos and can only be eaten in Vietnam. If I pass by there, I will visit again.“
“Very delicious food here, including some of the best salad rolls I've ever had! The shrimp salad roll was very fresh and stuffed with crisp veggies served with a big portion of peanut sauce. The vegetarian items are pretty good as well, especially the veggie spring roll. The location is on one side of Marine Drive so you're driving on the other side of the road, turn left and use Kent Ave to access it.“
“We love this off the beaten track Vietnamese restaurant. My wife and both had #13 Pho Ga Large which comes with a generous side of BBQ chicken. Great value and great chicken broth and my wife had a 25 fried roll and I had a 27 salad roll with chicken. Both tasty and yummy. Our friends had other dishes. Service is always friendly, helpful and attentive.“
“I hadn't visited in quite some time, but it was truly incredible—I'd forgotten how fantastic the food is here. Definitely make sure to try the bun bo hue special, the mi quang, and the banh beo! These classic dishes really hit the spot.“
“Very solid French/Vietamese restaurant with variety of options. We tried pho (northern style) and duck rotisserie and were happy with both. Their spicy condiment definitely helped elevate both dishes. Parking is difficult to find around restaurant.“
“??Quick Bites, Big Flavors: Kim Chau Deli's Vietnamese Subs ?Grabbed a quick take-out lunch from Kim Chau Deli Ltd. and was impressed with their Vietnamese subs. Simple, delicious, and authentic. A great choice for a flavorful meal on the go in Vancouver. ?“
“We had heard great things about this restaurant and decided to drop in for a bite. The bun bo hue dac biet and banh bot loc were delicious. All three of us ordered the bun bo hue. The toppings were generous. Soup was hot. Spiciness near perfect. The menu is small as the restaurant focuses on a few items. Next time we will order something different each. Definitely worth coming for the Bun Bo Hue!“
