“The pho here is DELICIOUS. I was looking for a place to eat at downtown in this cold and rainy weather, and I stumbled across this hidden gem! I ordered a bowl of Pho, and might I say, it was the best bowl of pho EVER!! The warm rich broth really warmed me up and the my server was also very polite :) The portion is very generous with a fair price. This restaurant will definitely be my go-to viet restaurant from now on.“

“I like this restaurant. I’m Chinese, but I’ve been to lots of pho restaurants, and have previously lived in Calgary, which has lots of pho restaurants. I thought the pho was excellent, they have this coconut special pho which I’ve never had before in any other restaurant, which I thought was excellent, hits with a hint of lime. overall, a solid pho place I would come again.“

“We were trying to go to the PhoGoodness next door and bewilderingly they close at 8pm. So as we were famished we found a Vietnamese restaurant right next door. We were blown away how rich and authentic their food tasted. The salad rolls, spring rolls and banh mi were amazing. One criticism would be the combo portions were a bit small. I am intrigued by how good their food was and will be back to try their other pho!“

“Came to van 168 coffee for dinner. I had the best pho here. Kim and Linda were so friendly and fast. I ordered pho and it came fast and was nice and hot and so delicious. I highly recommend this place and will be back! The decor is nice and the place is clean.“

“word on the street is this is a must try if you like Vietnamese & you’re in Vancouver - modern takes on traditional dishes by an acclaimed chef.“

“Had the Pho Satay. Pretty on point. Generous amount of noodles that were cooked al dente. Been to a few pho restaurants where the noodles just break up apart, but not here. Would I have liked more rare beef? Perhaps. Maybe a little bit more basil...I only say this because it is at the $21 total price not including tip. The broth is phenomenal - the peanut spice mixture into the beef broth is top tier! The balance is just perfect. The flavour alone would probably make you think twice about going to a Japanese ramen spot and I'm a die hard ramen fan.
Service is excellent. I should probably add that it's refreshing to know that there is a restaurant that doesn't serve tap water. This place actually has CLEAN PURIFIED WATER. It makes a big difference for me anyways.
Chill vibes and cool atmosphere. Nothing to complain.“

“The food here is excellent! Linda (owner) is the sweetest & most kind hearted person. She & her husband who's a chef behind the scene runs this eatery. They take utmost care to all who comes hungry or not. I've known & followed her long time. Ever since the time she use to be at International Village mall food court in Chinatown location and now here in this City Centre mall. Every food & beverages she serves is made with love & care. I got to know her personally and she's an amazing person!
Wherever I'm cold & feeling sick she gives me the pho' noodles soup & she makes the hot lime tea which is instantly comforting! She's cares like a family to me. <3
I recommend her strongly. Please visit and experience the comforting & delicious meals she serves. You will absolutely love it 💯 guaranteed!!“

“Wow! What a surprise! My girlfriend and I wondered over to this place after a massage, I was unsure at first due to the location. Once we ordered are food, I could tell the quality was top notch. This place is a hidden gem. I ordered the lemongrass chicken pho and my girlfriend got the beef stew. Who ever is in that kitchen is a true chef. This is the best pho I have ever had. The chicken came on the side and it was amazing. The beef pulled apart with the fork. Spices were rich and a perfect blend. Veggies were fresh, meat was top quality. Don’t miss out, get in there! I wish we weren’t in a rush. Pricing is perfect for the portion you get.“

“This time I ordered a chicken dish with rice, and it was pretty good. The price was reasonable and quite affordable. It’s more of a casual lunch spot nothing fancy or elegant, but the service was very good. They offer water or tea, which was a nice touch.
My girlfriend ordered a beef soup, and she thought it was good as well, but nothing particularly special. Overall, our experience wasn’t bad at all, but based on the dishes we chose, we probably wouldn’t come back. Maybe they have a hidden gem on the menu that we didn’t try.
It’s a decent place for a simple, informal meal.“

“Chau Cafe is such a delightful find the moment you walk in you feel welcomed by the cozy, relaxed vibe that makes it perfect for a casual lunch or dinner. The menu blends classic Vietnamese flavours with fresh, wholesome ingredients, and there are great options for vegan and vegetarian diets as well as meat lovers.
The interior is bright and inviting great for office lunch meeting or a relaxed meal by yourself and the service was prompt even when busy. Whether you’re craving bold Vietnamese flavours or just a cozy place to enjoy mindful, delicious food, this place truly shines. I recently tried the 1978 Pho Soup and the Saigon Bowl both were standouts! The pho had a rich, aromatic broth with perfect layers of lemongrass, ginger, turmeric, star anise and tender chicken it felt deeply comforting and well balanced, with great fresh herbs and noodles that soaked up the flavour beautifully. Both dishes were generously portioned and full of vibrant Vietnamese flavours perfect for a cozy lunch or dinner.
The hand cut Taro chips were a delightful starter perfectly crispy with a hint of earthiness, and paired wonderfully with the paprika garlic tofu dip. They were so good they almost stole the show before the main course even arrived!
Overall, every dish was fresh, flavourful, and felt lovingly made. Cozy atmosphere and friendly service made the experience even better, highly recommend these must-try items if you’re craving Vietnamese food with personality!“

“This Vietnamese restaurant gave me a really good first impression. The dining environment is clean and comfortable, not too crowded or noisy, so it’s a nice place to sit down, relax, and enjoy a meal. The staff are also very friendly and welcoming, which really adds to the overall experience.
We ordered the lemongrass grilled chicken with rice. The portion of chicken was quite generous, but for my personal taste, I felt that the lemongrass aroma could have been a bit stronger. The seasoning was also on the saltier side, and the chicken was slightly dry, so it felt like it lost a bit of juiciness, which was a little disappointing. But overall, the rice and side vegetables paired well together.
We also had the tomato braised beef pho. The soup was a bit sweet for my taste, which I think might just be the restaurant’s style. Personally, I prefer a broth that’s a little more savory or balanced between sour and sweet. However, the beef itself was really delicious very tender and soft, almost melting in your mouth. I really enjoyed that part of the dish, and the ingredients tasted fresh overall.
All of these comments are just based on my own personal taste and preferences. It doesn’t mean the food is bad at all, and I’m sure many people might really enjoy these flavors. Since the environment and service were both great, I would still be happy to come back again next time and try some of their other dishes. Who knows, I might find something that suits my taste even better.“

“Pleasantly surprised by how good the food was! Cheaper than most viet restaurants as well. I had the chicken vermicelli bowl and it was a great portion, and tasted amazing. The food was fresh. Service wasn’t amazing, especially being one of two tables in the restaurant. But besides that, it was great! Definitely check it out.“

“A must try Vietnamese restaurant in the area! Lovely place owned by very kind people. We were looking for interesting selections of Vietnamese food that is not just Pho, and the food we had here went above and beyond our expectations. Crab fried rice was surprisingly good and the goat curry came in a big pot with a candle warmer, and kept the nice warm coconut curry flavour for longer. I was never a fan of goat curry before this, but if every goat curry is cooked this way, I will be able to eat. Wish I have taken more pictures. All the drinks and plates were nicely presented and overall it was nice and pleasant experience. Will definitely visit again.“

“Fantastic food. Had rare beef pho and shrimp salad roll here for my first visit 2 weeks ago and then again spring roll and shrimp salad roll again this week. Both meals were delicious.
Very fresh, tasty ingredients and the staff were so friendly each time (dealt with different people each time)
Prices may seem a bit high, but the portions are huge!
This place is super popular for lunch so, I usually avoid 12-1pm if I can.
Definitely will be coming back again and I’ve already recommended to several people in person.“

“Linh Café is a gem for French-Vietnamese fusion, but for me, the absolute highlight was the pho. What sets it apart is their house-made chili sauce; it adds a delicious, spicy kick that elevates the broth to another level. I honestly wish I could buy a jar of that sauce to take home!
The adventurous side of the menu is also great—the frog legs and chicken liver are unique and flavorful, and they give you bread to soak up every drop of the incredible sauces.
The only downside to my recent visit was the beer pour. I was a bit disappointed to see that about a quarter of the glass was empty when it arrived (see photo). While the food is 5-star quality, the drink service missed the mark this time. Still worth a visit for the cuisine!“

“Light light light! Had the Bun Rieu and Bun Cha Ca Dac Biet. Both were very light. The Bun Cha was very dilly which made for a very different flavour than the go to bite flavours. Pretty unique. The Bun Rieu was good. Very light compared to the bun Rieu I’m used to. Solid. The crab meat were more shredded than in meatballs. I prefer the meatball form.
Overall a nice experience. If you prefer a lighter broth then come here. Service was good. It was very busy when we went.“

“My friends and I came from Vancouver, Canada to try this. I love Vietnamese coffee and was so excited to find a Trung Nguyen Cafe. The options are amazing, the decor and interior was beautiful. “They take a lot of pride in the good they serve! There's an emphasis on chicken related Vietnamese dishes from different parts of the country. The chicken platter for 2 (or three) is such a celebration of all things chicken! Every item great and distinct. There was so much meat in the salad that I kind of yearned for more vegetables! My favourite was definitely the offal stew!“

“Another Kingsway classic. I use to drive all the way here from North Burnaby late nights to come eat the Pho Ga. ( big chunks of free range chicken )They open quite late. Only east van still has late Pho joints. Came back here for the first time after 2 yrs of traveling abroad. Same taste and flavours. Seems like they cut back a little on the portion size but shrinkflation is real in Vancouver! They have been feeding the community for a while now and the tables were all full when we visited on a weekend. We will be back soon whenever we are in the area“
