“One of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants! We come here at least once or twice every month. I once brought a Vietnamese elder who immigrated to Canada 60 years ago from Vancouver — he spoke Vietnamese with the server, who recommended the Bun Bo Hue (Vietnamese ham, beef brisket, pork balls with vermicelli in hot spicy soup). He said it tasted truly authentic, just like what he used to have back in Vietnam.
My personal favorite is the Bun Cha Ca Rau Can Doc Mung (fried fish cake with vermicelli in soup). The broth has tomato with a slightly sour and sweet taste — very appetizing! All the other dishes are delicious too, and the snacks are freshly fried, not pre-fried. Highly recommended!“

“We visited Huong Lan Vietnamese Restaurant on our way to Ucluelet, and honestly, it was exactly what we needed after a long drive. Being a family-owned business, the whole place felt warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in. The food tasted absolutely amazing, fresh, flavorful, and comforting. Our server was incredibly polite and gave us some recommendations, and we ended up ordering everything he suggested — every single dish turned out to be delicious. The ambience was also wonderful: calm music, a relaxing environment, and a cozy atmosphere where you could actually enjoy conversations without noise.
If you’re visiting the area, this restaurant is definitely worth a stop. Great food, great service, and a genuinely welcoming experience. They also have GLUTEN FREE menu.“

“We moved here after living on the west side of downtown Toronto for 25 years (Front between Spadina and Bathurst). Anyone that knows TO will know that Chinatown is in that area... so is this the best authentic pho I've ever had? Hell no, of course not. However it is good and let's face it Nanaimo may be beautiful but the food?... meh outside of some good Indian. The pho is pretty good but more importantly the team is very friendly and will make it to order. lol believe me that is not guaranteed at a pho place off Spadina near Dundas.. I also know they need to make it for the local population and real authentic pho may not go over as well. I've tried a few places here and this is a safe bet, especially for a shop in a mall.“
