“Updated again May 2023:Kids treated us to a Mother’s Day lunch and food, portions and service were very good. We ordered vegan as well as non-vegan entrees (see pics).Only observation to note is that peanut sauce for the salad rolls wasn’t very peanuty flavoured.Based on today’s meal, I am bumping my rating up to 4.5.Update Jan 2023 **bumping rating from 1 star to 3.5: Gave this long time ND local Vietnamese Restaurant another go after an ownership change last year. One of the owners was behind the counter tonight, very friendly and his partner Leslie, in the kitchen owns a Vanc. restaurant. Our server was pleasant, albeit some confusion with our order, also due to our unfamiliarity with the menu.We ordered the House Special Phò (L) $16.99, Deep fried Spring Rolls (2 to an order, $2.50 ea), Assorted Seafood Wonton and BBQ Pork with Noodles (S) $16.99, Deep Fried Rice Paper Spring Roll $4.50 and a Lemongrass Bahn Mi $8.75 to-go.The soups were hot (as they should be), the DF Rice Paper Roll was greasy tasting and I didn’t care for it but everything else was good.Make sure you ask for the chili oil, it’s bomb and a tasty condiment with soup and noodles. My previous bad experiences were with dayshift employees so I hope the new management has corrected that.Update Jan 2022: Went with friends for lunch to see if the poor service from hired staff had changed at all. Unfortunately it had not, food is plunked on the corner of the table without any acknowledgement. Nobody came back to check on tea/water refills. Requested the bill and same. Food was ok but the service leaves a bad taste in the mouth and doesn’t warrant a return IMO. Doesn’t seem to affect the local customer loyalty though as it’s been this way for years.Demoting to 1 star.Got take out beef noodle bowl (Phō)- large #6 well done brisket and skirt flank-$10.99. Soup was very hot but not as flavourful as Phō99 which is our go-to, but closed. Comes with generous portion of beef and the usual sprouts, cilanto, lime, basil, jalapeño and hoisin sauce.Hadn’t been for couple years, while the owners are very nice, friendly people, the servers have not always been very attentive (to the point of being rude) in the past. The food has always been quite good though.Located in a strip mall with a variety of businesses and ample parking.“

“We will miss your food! We came in for the closing day event, we have been coming here for years. The golden bowl, midnight bowl, crispy spring rolls, coconut shake and the peanut butter bars are our favorite! Thanks again for the great service and food!
We sure hope you come out with a cook book !“

“After trying various of Vietnamese food in Greater Vancouver Area, CóM’s food gives me a really impressive performance.
Generally speaking, both food and environment are fantastic. Pho is highly recommended because of its outstanding broth. We tried the grilled chicken on rice which also really a must try item :p“

“The lobster tomato soup was delicious, and the crab balls were the highlight! I’ll try a crab dish next time. The lemongrass chicken was flavorful and not too salty, though a bit more vegetables would be nice. (But still good) The rice portion was good, the drink was sweet, and the service was responsive. Overall, a great meal!“

“This is my favorite weekly go-to place! Love their no-msg pho, grilled pork and chicken, stewed beef, etc. Their special homemade off-menu items always surprise me… seafood pho, chicken pho, shrimp dumplings, seafood spring rolls, etc. Got a chance to try their crab soup noodles today and it was amazingly tasty. It came with two huge crab cakes which were made with real crab meats and seasoned with dried shrimps. It was definitely the best crab soup noodles in town!“

“Delicious food, amazing service. We all got some vermicelli, one with tofu and two with pork skewers and everything was perfect. Noodles cooked to perfection and the veggie spring rolls were crispy and so flavourful. The bubble tea is also worth it! Highly recommend.“

“We went to this Vietnamese Vegan Restaurant tucked away unobtrusively in the "sleepy "Crest Strip Mall in Burnaby /New Westminister area today for lunch .
The Restaurant is owned & run by a Vietnamese Family & reportedly been around for past 21 years.
We ordered the Mixed Fried Rice, Veg Noodle, Eggplant Coconut Curry in Claypot & Spring Rolls.
All the dishes were tasty & nice -though the Eggplant curry lacked more spice & seasoning. However the Restaurant had all kinds of Chilli, Sriracha, Sweet , Plum sauces & these added to the flavour.
All dishes were freshly made & served piping hot -specially the Spring Rolls (we had 2 helpings of this dish).
Prices were reasonable & service was good, pleasing & efficient. The Restaurant is very Spartan but homely & the Toilet was kept in immaculate condition .
The only negative point I like to add is that the Rice used in the Fried Rice was a coarse variety with large grains instead of the usual Jasmine Rice. ( Indian Basmati Rice would have enhanced the flavour further).
We will return to this Restaurant again in the near future. (Restaurant closes on Sun, Mon, Tue -every week).
Dietary restrictions: Pure Vegan Restaurant
Parking: Free Parking in the Strip Mall
Kid-friendliness: Restaurant has high chairs
Wheelchair accessibility: There is enough space inside for placing a wheelchair.“

“I had been going to their Kerrisdale location for years, and was so glad that they reopened. The new place looks fantastic, and the food is just as good. Their spring rolls are actually a must have, it's hard to find places that do them with rice paper and fried so well. Finally, their pho broth is one of the best I've had, and after trying other places, I always come back to them.“

“This modern Vietnamese restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere and is consistently clean, even after countless visits. The staff are quick, friendly, and easy to talk to, and the one time I had an issue, they resolved it promptly. Parking is convenient, with free spots available parallel to the street in front of the restaurant, and free parking in the back—though it can fill up, especially around dinner time. I highly recommend the Pho Sate; it's a rare find at most Vietnamese places, and they do it exceptionally well, with a distinct and superior flavor compared to other restaurants that offer it.“

“This is a staple for pho near Metrotown mall. It does get very busy and there isn’t a lot of seating available so you may need to wait during busy periods
Parking is a bit tough as it’s street parking only.
For pho, they make a tasty broth and it’s very flavorful. Definitely the highlight of the meal. Not all pho is made the same and they definitely have the right mix.
This review is mainly based on the food as its interior is similar to most pho places. Definitely worth stopping by for a quick bite before a movie.“

“Everything’s spot on —- unless if you’re a clean freak like me lol but we’re here for the food right!!
Their chopsticks and cutlery are out in the open, not wrapped etc. At least they should point them down instead of up.
It’s northern style cuisine, a first for me though I can’t tell the difference. In terms of garnishes, they’re quite generous, so much basil and cilantro provided.
Steamed sprouts by request.
Cool tables, un-pho like so a welcome change. Got that wooden feel.
Free parking in the back, just a few spots.“

“I find myself actively craving to come here for bun rieu. It’s an authentic no frills spot with great flavours. Everything is simply delicious. I also love that they don’t make a fuss when I ask to customize my order (i.e. changing to pho noodles instead of bun noodles). Might not be a flashy place but it’s unarguably my favourite for Vietnamese food in Burnaby“

“BBQ pork in salad rolls were amazing! I wish there was more meat, but cannot be beat the price! Banh Mi was good too but the baguette was on the dryer, crumbly side. Beef brisket Currey was also very very good with big portions. Very happy with value and quality of the food. Will definitely return for pho and other dishes.“

“Our first time to order here and we are sorry we didn't try it sooner! Chicken wings were amazing and the spring rolls so fresh and unlike any others I have had. We also had the salad rolls that did not skimp on the shrimp. We will dine in next time as the restaurant is adorable!!“

“We'll deserved, 5 of 5 stars for this fabulous "hole-in-the-wall" Vietnamese spot.
Everytime I'm staying close-by in Vancouver, I make a point to have a meal here. The portions are very generous and reasonable for the prices.
The server was so polite and when she noticed that we ( my girlfriend and I) had been sharing an appetizer, she proceeded to bring extra p about sauce for our salad rolls so that we could both have dipping sauce.
99% vegan food menu (non-veg options labelled) and you can throw a dart on theenu and not miss. There are so many delicious and interesting options to choose from. Sweet to savory, spicy and lots of authentic Vietnamese flavours.
Ordered: Lemongrass Bahn mi, pho, BBQ salad rolls, spring rolls“

“A Vietnamese restaurant located among the many Vietnamese restaurants on the block. Service is quick and straightforward and food comes to you in big portions and piping hot. We ordered the house special noodle soup, the grilled lemongrass pork vermicelli, and the sliced meat pho. All the foods were delicious, albeit a bit too salty for my taste. Portions were good for the price, around $18 for each dish. It was busy at 8 pm on a Saturday but tables turn quickly due to the fast service.“

“One of the few pho places on Victoria drive that’s known for their bun rieu chả cá
I’ve been going here for years and i can honestly say how consistent the food is! It’s been such a comfort food on mornings and it always satisfies!
We Typically order pho Bo and the spring rolls as well and again, don’t forget to try their house made chilli sauce!! So amazing and it definitely elevates your soup and dip!!“

“Ordered a signature banh mi, and it was decent. Good for grab-and-go.
The person who made the sandwiches was also taking orders and touched the food, screen, and POS machine with the same gloves (or maybe I didn’t notice when she changed gloves). This probably happens at other small cafes, sandwich shops, and fast-food restaurants. It doesn’t bother me as much, but it is definitely something worth improving.“
“Pro Tip!Bring your own container! Your car will thank you. They will weigh the container before adding the fish cakes.Bring cash they are $12/lbMakes a nice and easy dinner. I usually reheat it in water till it's puffy (to remove some of the oils and reduce some of the salt) and then top it on top of noodle soup. Delicious ? You can also reheat by pan frying it but I find it makes it even more salty.“

“Got food from Uber and it arrived fast and fresh! The shrimp rolls were still very crispy and hot when it arrived! Didn’t even have to reheat it in the air fryer! The beef short ribs were so flavourful and the seafood noodle soup had a nice clean taste which I really enjoyed! My fiancé and I both enjoyed the food! Will reorder again“

“This small yet mighty restaurant yielded wonderful home cooked meals. The food was delicious and scrumptious. Both rice and pho were ordered and both were spot on. The rice dish was near perfect, the pie was a touch dry, but the meat was cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.“

“What a great restaurant for our lunch... it was busy, the service was excellent, and the ladies are lovely. Parking is a bit tight, but after the lunch rush, it's not too bad.
The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, and there is handicap parking, but it gets taken up quick when it's busy.
Definitely a good find
We both had Vietnamese subs, and deep fried spring rolls. Hit & tasty

“I ordered the #30 special spicy noodle soup and Vietnamese spring rolls. The soup was very tasty but I found it had a lot more oil/grease than other places I have tried. Only comes with Vietnamese ham and beef brisket. I added beef ball for an extra charge of 3$. The spring rolls were all cut up into little pieces, which is not good because they get very cold very fast so I would suggest to have them not do that next time. Portion size was good for price. Asked for chilli oil on the side but only got hoisin/siracha. This was a take out order but if I was to eat inside I noticed the door didn’t close properly and there was a draft coming inside.“

“I haven’t tried Vietnamese street foods before, but this restaurant offers many different types. Beef bone marrow is something I haven’t tried before, but today I did.
Seating is something to be commended: very roomy. Not like some restaurants that are packed like sardines.
Parking on Kingsway is a challenge at times. I have to park at the nearby Norquay Park.“

“Some of the best pho I've had in a long time. The meat sweats for themselves ? . It's a simple place with a minimal menu - but wow it is good food. My only feedback would be to include the Vietnamese/Thai basil leaves with the pho. Thanks Tommy.“

“I'm always about the food. Great Value for what you pay. Our two dishes came to $36 + Tip. My friend brought me here for lunch since it's a few minutes from where he lives. This is his go to viet food when he's craving it. When you hear vietnames music playing in the background then it's as authentic as can be.“

“With new management, the pho taste better than before with a generous portion of meats. And even then, the pricing is not too steep for a large bowl in comparison to a lot of places on Kingsway (I've seen $20 before tax a bowl)Love that it is close to home. Gonna be coming back soon.“

“We like Vietnamese food and have eaten it all over the place. This is the best Vietnamese restaurant we have eaten at. The flavours are spectacular. You don't need to add hoisin or hot sauce, the flavours are fantastic. This is a must stop at on your way to the ferry terminal, highly recommended.
The owner is also very nice and gave us a lot of info on why their food has the flavours it does and about Vietnamese history.“
