The manager invited us to move to the bar and treated us their signature “lavender latte”. I was very impressed that the staff were very thoughtful. That’s probably one of the reasons that this place is still very popular after 20 years of operations. My friend and I had a fantastic girls night. Would love to come back!“

“The food is excellent. If you want a quiet dining experience book for 5pm, after 6:30 it can get rowdy. I do have a gripe though, if the meat and chicken are halaal and the venue serves alcohol, then it should not be designated a halaal restaurant. I've experienced this at two so called restaurants recently. State our meat is halaal and not that it is a halaal establishment.“

“February 10th, 2023 was such a tiring day. I had classes at UCW till late and, as a good hungry taurine, I had to eat something delicious to make me feel well. Also, it had to be mandatorily vegan, so I would also keep my mind in peace. While searching for a restaurant with vegan options, I saw this sushi one, called Cofu Pressed Sushi. It was not far from UCW Vancouver House (around 15 minutes by bus) and it would be open till 9:00 PM. So, I decided to go there. I called my husband and we met there. The restaurant is not that large, and they have just a few tables, just the way I like it. But the best, in my opinion, was that it was so clean, fragrant, and decorated with such a good neatness that I felt a cozy mood as soon as I entered. Nevertheless, we were very well welcomed by the server, and he explained the whole menu to us. Besides they former factors I mentioned, the latter is the most important in my opinion. The way I am hosted and treated in any commercial place makes the whole difference in my final perception. I took the Aichi combo from the Omakase Menu. This combo had plant-based tuna (made of jackfruit), tofu, avocado, fresh mix veggie, and a sauce made of vivid beets and spicy mayo. As for my husband, he chose the Ofu combo. It had plant-based salmon (made of carrot and konjac), pumpkin, eggplant, red & yellow bell pepper, and a sauce made of cilantro, cucumber, and wild carrot. As the picture shows, the dish presentations were so beautiful, showing the food as something delicate, that the sushi master really took care of it. Last, but not least, the taste. It was so delicious! Every bite mattered to me. I was hungry, but I took every sushi slowly to feel all flavours and had the best sensory experience. For some the amount of food may look little, but I guarantee it made me fill satisfied. As a whole, I felt really delighted and I wish to return there soon to order the other options.“

“Despite the name, Kranky Cafe is staffed by the nicest, most pleasant people you will find anywhere. The vibe they've created here is everything you could want from a community cafe. I was made to feel so welcome from the first time I walked in, and since then the baristas have cared enough to remember me, learn my name, ask how I'm doing/what I'm up to and follow up on it the next time I'm back, which is sometimes a month or more later. I've really never been to a coffee shop where the baristas show such genuine interest in customers. I'm not naturally very outgoing so I usually don't really get to know staff at cafes that I frequent, but it's not like I feel like these people are forcing me to converse with them, they're just really nice and it is infectious! As wonderful as the people are, I wouldn't be coming back over and over again if the food wasn't equally as wonderful, but it absolutely is. Their baked goods are homemade and it's very evident in the quality - everything tastes so wholesome! The sandwiches and wraps are great - the Big Veg sandwich, my favourite, is a killer vegan option. And they make good drinks too. The espresso drinks are pretty standard but brewed strong (but not TOO strong), and I think all the tea drinks (including the tea lattes and just straight-up tea) are excellent. They offer a lot of variety in the menu. It's not a vegan cafe (there are plenty of meat options) but there are some very good options for vegans: an assortment of vegan baked goods and two vegan sandwiches. They whip up new things from time to time. It's pretty small inside but they have a lot of patio space for when the weather's decent. They have blankets you can use to keep warm. I love the vibe, it's colourful and cozy inside and the patio has a rustic garden feel. This is the place to visit if you need to lift your spirits.“

Every single one had a different flavour profile and I absolutely would have each one again. In fact, I plan to go back and have exactly the same meal because I loved it so much! All of my choices vegetarian. My friend had the breakfast burrito baked with goat cheese and I had a bite and it was packed with flavour too. Oh, and my friend tried the London Fog Beer and said it was very tasty. The service was good and the atmosphere was cozy. The only thing I would change is the chairs are not very comfortable. “I had such a great experience at Viva cafe & Bakery ? I’m coming to this place since a while and new some Pastry chefs who worked there in the past. Here I am again and that time I’ll let a review for everyone to enjoy their visit to the coffee.I got myself two sandwiches, apparently I was hungry that day, is that the word ? Lol. I choose the Chicken pesto and the breakfast muffin. As I came late I didn’t get the chance to try the sweet treat that I wanted. So let me get back to the sandwiches ?They were simply divine ! Delicious. Couldn’t figure it out which one I prefer. The chicken pesto was excellent, the ciabatta bread crunchy and crusty just enough, the chicken was real chunk of thick and tender cooked to the grill, still juicy but not loose, the pesto almost intense. As soon as you bite it once you’re already biting for a second time without awareness… that’s a 12/10. Simply my favourite sandwich in town so far, period. For the breakfast muffin, same same, the bread is delightful, the ham so flavourful, spinach well seasoned, and the egg ? so nicely cooked. Great job, I highly recommend and strongly suggest anyone to try them, you won’t be disappointed. The team is really nice and helpful, smiling and friendly. The location is really cute, and their patio is meant to be enjoyable.See you next time !!! I’ll come back for the sweet treat ? ?“

“So excited to have found a gluten free bakery next to a great coffee shop. The carrot cake, tiramisu and peanut butter brownie was delicious and moist. The brownie is not too sweet and paired nicely with the peanut butter frosting. I enjoyed the oatmeal raisin cookie and the chocolate chunk cookie which were also Dairy free. Both had soft centers and crunchy edges. The double chocolate cookie was a bit too soft and spongy for me. The brioche cinnamon bun was also a skip next time as it was quite dry.The shop also sold pizza slices and sandwich which I didn't try. The selves are also lined with a variety of gf mixes and flours, cute kitchen items and soaps. I especially appreciated that they sold chocolate from No whey which is allergy friendly/ top 9 free and vegan. They also had frozen cakes and pizza dough and pies. It is a total gem. “The MeeT brunch menu is the best food this vegan chain offers. I've always enjoyed The Full English meal, which is filling and satisfying. MeeT could further improve by providing espresso drinks like lattes (currently they only have drip coffee), freshening up their lunch and dinner menus (currently there are too many bland burgers and bowls), and making their booths more spacious and comfortable (there is very little space between the table and seats, which I discovered when I realized my baby's car seat would not fit on the bench). However, I will keep returning to support this restaurant as it is very nice to have multiple vegan options in so many locations in Vancouver.“

But we found quickly some nice options. We choose the amburi lox oshi (Sushi) and the smashed potatos to share. It was a really unextpected positive surprise. The potatos simple but delicious (unfortunately a bit too much). The Sushi complex, a bit spicy and really worth to try and reorder. The main we had Cacio e pepe and Dan Dan Noodles. Both delicious as well. Unfortunately it was too much and the tastes were after the half of the portion a bit "boring". Don't get us wrong. Unfortunately, the sunny side up eggs and Spanish chorizo were over cooked and the eggs weren't even runny. I think they grilled the chorizo a bit too long and they were quite black. I am not sure if I would order this dish again. My friend enjoyed her Brunch Bravas with the braised beef. The coffee also took a while, we received our meals before the drinks and they never wished my friend happy birthday even though I indicated on the online reservation that this is a special occasion for birthday event. The atmosphere at the restaurant is nice though, decor and everything feel glamours. “It was really good!! I loved the flavors of pizza and the way it was prepared. Was definately nice since I had 2 friends I was grabbing pizza for that can't have gluten and they prepared it in a separate oven. Very conscious of dietary concerns. The only downside was price. VERY expensive. I ordered 2 small (10") gluten-free pizzas and it was almost a $50 bill.“

“Impromptu visit for dinner. Three of us had the set menu for $65 starting with 6 oysters (delicious) each (two types x 3 oysters), then moved to the lobster and prawn carbonara (+$10) which was tasty but the portion is quite big so after a while it started to be a bit tough and samey on the taste buds given it's quite umami and a thicker rather than thinner carbonara sauce. Nonetheless it was good. Our fourth diner just had the octopus appetiser which was tasty too. Desserts were generous portions but the crème Brulé was a bit heavy and not much flavour to it. Cheesecake was decent. Our server was friendly. Mains came out quite quickly after the oysters but it was ok. Nice restaurant overall for an unplanned walk-in.“

“Warm and gooey… I make a mess every time licking my fingers at the end. But that is a part of my ritual of eating the best cinnamon roll in town!A bit pricy (almost $6 a pc) and quite sweet (always with glaze) but it is ok to indulge myself sometimes, right?“
