“Oh my… this was quite an experience! When going there, letyourself be surprised by the Chef’s Menu (Menu dégustation in french). Surprise after surprise, it will make you live a real culinary experience! And our waiter (fluently bilingual) was excellent and vey passionate! Along with the lady who brought each plate and explained to us what they were. And finally the manager, I believe, who came over a few times to talk about the plates, the wine and how the pasta were made the same day, very early in the morning The wine suggestion was also perfect! “We had the Spaghetti Meatballs & Cherry Coke Ribs. The Spaghetti, eh, honestly, you could do better, forget the pasta at the pasta place lol. Those cherry coke ribs were so unbelievably good, and the side of Lemon Pepper Grilled Brussel Sprouts. OMG I would come here just for that. We finished off the night with a Tiramisu, and it didn't dissappoint. We will definitely be back. The only negative/ complaint if that, I notice a lot of people recommend it as a date spot, if you want to chat, dont bother, the place is so friggin loud lol“

“Long story short, their pasta was the bomb. They make it fresh right in front of you and it’s just an absolute winner. Simple as that. We had pasta in Italy and I would say they are comparable. If you’re a big pasta person, this place is definitely for you. That being said, the almond semifreddo dessert was not disappointing as well. As far as service goes, I appreciate that they don’t come up to you every 2 minutes to ask “how’s the first few bites?” yet all the servers are still friendly and attentive throughout. For me, it doesn’t get any better than that. Let me eat my food and if I need something, I’ll let you know. Important to note: if you’re coming on a Saturday, be sure to be there by 4- 4:10pm to make sure you get seated. The line gets really long shortly thereafter. A restaurant with a long line outside will always draw more attention than the empty ones, very clever 😉 So make sure you go early…. And enjoy!“

“We had a family birthday lunch at the Lonsdale Quay location that was absolutely fabulous. In our party of five, three of us had sandwiches and two ordered pasta dishes. Everything was so nicely presented and tasted even better than it looked. Can’t wait to go back and try some more of the enticing items on the menu. The setting and atmosphere is lovely and the service was great - an overall joyful experience in dining out.“

“The three of us and a dog came to Nonna’s Cucina on East Hastings for the first time after seeing it several times while driving by. We each ordered the rigatoni dish and in our opinion the quality was at par with Oca and La Tana. Very tasty and flavorful, and good portions. It was so neat to be served on pretty china instead of on a cardboard container. One of the staff came out while we were waiting at our table for our dishes and he was so kind to give our friend’s dog some bits of ham to enjoy! We are so glad to have tried this place out and we will definitely be returning again soon!“

“While in Vancouver the beginning of November for medical appointments. My wife and I were undecided on were to eat. We walked out of our motel. Looked across the street and saw the Italian Kitchen, we walked over and asked if they had any seats available, it was a very busy night ,got our seats and our sever was Sam he was very pleasant. My wife and I both so impressed with our meal. If we ever go back to Vancouver I know we're I will be eating.“

My wife and I decided to focus on the seafood offerings for the evening, and that decision was rewarded from the very first course.

Every dish demonstrated exceptional restraint, balance and confidence. The seafood remained the hero throughout, while each accompanying ingredient added thoughtful layers of flavour, texture and contrast without ever competing for attention.

The oysters were beautifully presented with elegant, well-balanced mignonettes that complemented rather than overwhelmed their natural brine. The octopus salad was outstanding—layer upon layer of vegetables, textures and flavours, each contributing something distinct while coming together as a remarkably cohesive dish. The charcoal udon carried that same sense of balance and depth, and the fish of the moment (halibut) was cooked perfectly, allowing the quality of the fish to speak for itself.

Exceptional food, a warm and inviting atmosphere, and polished, attentive service made for a memorable evening. More than anything, we appreciated the respect shown not only to the seafood, but to every ingredient on the plate. Each component had a purpose, contributing to the whole without ever overshadowing the star of the dish. It’s precisely that level of confidence and restraint that encourages us to return and explore the rest of the menu.“

Food is authentically Italian and very fresh. Margherita and Cristina pizzas were our favourites as well as the scallop spaghetti. We are definitely coming back!“

“We had a great dinner there. All four dishes were fantastic, but I have to recommend the fettuccine with salmon and garlic cream sauce. It's perfectly located downtown, in a very quiet setting. Was not very busy when we were there so didn't probably need a reservation.“

“The food and service were both excellent. We ordered the crostini trio, and the staff kindly added an extra flavor on the house, which was a nice touch. Every bite was delicious. The chicken dish was also well-executed and very enjoyable.

The arugula salad was fresh and tasty, though the portion was quite generous for just two people, and we couldn’t finish it. The atmosphere was great as well. We came close to closing time, so it wasn’t particularly busy, which allowed us to enjoy a relaxed meal without ever feeling rushed.

The only issue came at the very end. Since we couldn’t finish the arugula salad, we asked for it to be packed to go. When I opened the container the next day, however, it contained a completely different pasta dish. Since I had no idea whose food it was, I ended up throwing it away.

What happened to my arugula salad? 😂

Other than that small mix-up, everything was wonderful, and I’d happily come back again.“

“I ordered the Rosa sauce because I saw on the menu that it was a blend of pesto, red, and white sauce and I was intrigued by that. However, when I got my food, there was definitely no pesto sauce . The chicken addon was also more expensive than what the menu said (I paid 4.99 and the menu said 3.99).
The pasta was delicious though, and the portion was huge! I can eat this for 2.5 or 3 meals. I'd still come back, but I'd recommend the menu prices and descriptions to be updated.“

“High quality food with excellent dining room service. Restaurant became busy during the FIFA Canada game, yet staff was still friendly and very attentive. A special shout to one of the staff member who noticed one customer moved the portable TV screen to suit their own table, while all other seated customers were unable to view the TV. “Came to have a celebration for a friend birthday . Great location with great outdoor patio if anyone wants to take in the evening sunshine. Wonderful service and super yummy pizza ( best crust I had had ) and the most delicious dessert. Love that they also have small craft beer that's local the rail beer which I feel is one of the best in Vancouver so it's nice that they bring on a local beer for their customers on tap.
