“The owner, Mehdi, created this salad house because he saw how eating good food contributes to good health. When people are healthy, they are happy and kind. He told me about people he lost from cancer and illness from unhealthy eating. When he opened this store, I saw how much love and care he put into the decorations, selections of ingredients, preparation of food and serving people. He always have a nice smile no matter what day he has. He wants to make the world a better place by getting people to eat yummy, fresh and happy things. And he like to play the game of you guessing the weight of your bowl for a chance to win a free salad.“

“Shayla, our server, was absolutely amazing! She explained the menu thoroughly and made excellent recommendations that we were glad to try. The entire experience was exceptional, and the food was perfect from start to finish.We had the red wine braised short rib of beef from Double R Ranch — it melted in my mouth and the flavor was out of this world. We started with the scallops and smoked bison tartare, both of which were outstanding.For other mains, we enjoyed the wood grilled lamb, the Hank tenderloin steak, the Wagyu beef picanha from Brant Lake Farm in Alberta, Blue Dot Beef in Prince Edward Island striploin (10 oz). They were all amazing. The Blue Dot had incredible flavor — juicy, tender, and hands down the best steak I’ve ever had. Every steak was beautifully cooked and packed with flavor.We finished the evening with trying ALL THE DESSERTS! The baked Alaska was beautiful and delicious! The ice cream trio was so creamy and rich. The creme brûlée was smooth and dreamy. The chocolate cake was moist and perfectly matched with the passionfruit sauce. The fam favorite was definitely the cheesecake… we were all wanting it! Perfect flavor not too sweet and very smooth. Blackberries were a perfect match. We also had the donuts.. don’t forget about those. Im still dreaming of them. Highly recommend — a truly unforgettable meal!“

“We had the Spaghetti Meatballs & Cherry Coke Ribs. The Spaghetti, eh, honestly, you could do better, forget the pasta at the pasta place lol. Those cherry coke ribs were so unbelievably good, and the side of Lemon Pepper Grilled Brussel Sprouts. OMG I would come here just for that. We finished off the night with a Tiramisu, and it didn't dissappoint. We will definitely be back. The only negative/ complaint if that, I notice a lot of people recommend it as a date spot, if you want to chat, dont bother, the place is so friggin loud lol“

“We stopped in to have a quick drink and I was pleasantly surprised by this place. We sat at the bar and had a drink and appetizer, ended up staying for 3 hours. We didn’t even go to the Italian restaurant. Ian Belnavis was awesome and David the bartender took care of us. Don’t miss this place! We had wings appetizer, crispy chicken bowl with toffee pudding for dessert. Everything was great, there isn’t anything negative I can say.“

“It’s Okay feels like a true neighbourhood watering hole and easily one of the best bars in East Vancouver. Super chill, no pretentious energy, and the kind of place you can actually sit and hang out for a while.

The food was the best part. Everything tasted fresh and actually well made, not just thrown together like a lot of bar food. The fried chicken sandwich was so good, really crispy, juicy, and flavorful without being heavy. Even the sides were solid which I feel like never happens.

Drinks were good and not super overpriced for Vancouver, and the staff were friendly and attentive!

“Nice spot on Granville. Gluten free options! I had the gluten free margherita pizza and thought the crust was excellent. They were so thoughtful and accommodating of my gluten free request, made sure they noted that I had celiac and assured me they would try to keep cross contamination to a minimum. I had no issues!

Good drinks! Had the spicy passion fruit margarita, very tasty! My husband had the red truck lager and he liked it a lot. He also had the ahi tuna ceviche which was excellent.

We went on a Saturday around 11:30 AM and were seated immediately. Bit of a wait when we left around 12:30 PM. I could see this place get busy when the weather is nice, as they have outdoor seating. Good views!“

“We found this cafe in the late afternoon of a Saturday. We needed an energy boost after walking around Granville Island. We go to Granville Island quite often, but we have never been to this side and have never noticed this cafe.

We ordered a coffee, a cookie and a tart. Everything tasted great, but they were priced towards the higher range.

The interior design looked good, too. However, towards the closing hours, the cafe might not look its best in terms of tidiness. There was a lady having a video cal behind me, and she was quite loud. She also played her hair at the same time, so much so that her hands touched my head a few times, which was quite annoying. Not the fault of the cafe, though. Perhaps if the chair was not placed so close to me, it could have helped.

In a higher end cafe like this, I did not expect people being loud like that. However, I am not a regular to cafes, so I do not have an idea of how people normally behave.“

“After seeing a recent 1-star review claiming the ingredients were old, I felt I should share my own experience because it was completely different.

I ordered several specialty rolls and everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The sushi was loaded with toppings, the fish tasted fresh, and the rolls were generous in size. The avocado was perfectly fine, and there was absolutely no strange smell from any of the ingredients.

Looking at the photo in that review, it appears they ordered a basic imitation crab roll. Anyone familiar with sushi knows imitation crab has its own distinct taste and texture, which is very different from fresh crab. That doesn’t mean it’s spoiled.

What impressed me most was the quality for the price. The portions were huge, the presentation was excellent, and the staff were friendly and professional. My order looked exactly like the menu photos and exceeded my expectations.

I’ve eaten sushi all over Vancouver, and this place offers some of the best value for money I’ve found. Don’t let one angry review stop you from trying it yourself. I’ll definitely be back.“

I had a fantastic evening at Barra Forty One. From the moment we sat down, Anita took such great care of us. She was incredibly attentive, friendly, and knew the menu inside out. She made perfect recommendations and checked in at just the right times without ever feeling pushy.
The drinks were outstanding – beautifully crafted, perfectly balanced, and some of the best I’ve had in a while. Every round was a highlight of the night.

“Recently visited Babylon Cafe on Denman Street and honestly had such a great experience. The location is amazing — just steps from English Bay beach, making it the perfect place to grab food and relax after a walk by the water.

We tried their shawarma platters and they were absolutely delicious. The portions were generous, everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and very authentic. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, the rice was cooked really well, and the sauces added so much flavor to the meal. You can definitely tell they focus on quality and presentation.

Their drinks and cocktails were also really good and added so much to the overall experience. It’s one of those places where you can sit back, enjoy good food, have a few drinks, and genuinely spend a relaxing evening with friends or family. The atmosphere is casual, welcoming, and has a very nice beachside vibe.

A huge shoutout to Habibi, the owner, for the amazing hospitality and service. He was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made sure we had a great experience from the moment we walked in. Customer service like this honestly makes a place stand out even more.

Another thing we appreciated was the pricing. For the quality, portion sizes, location, and overall experience, the prices are actually very reasonable for downtown Vancouver.

“Got takeout for their regular classic deli, decided to add some extra cold cuts and cheese cuz why not! My total was only $25 and this was my first time ever getting food here before. You can imagine my surprise when I received a sandwich about the size of a small pillow, absolutely filled to the brim with cold cuts and cheese all sandwiched together with the best focaccia I’ve ever had. I’d give 6/5 stars if I could, genuinely the greatest sandwich I’ve ever had in my life and SO worth the price. Was going to have this for lunch, but now I have enough to feed a family of 4.
