I forgot to take pictures but I recommend the lamb tartare and the truffle brie. All their food are shareable so it's the perfect place for socializing. I love that they have a wide selection of wine to choose from. The only downside is probably the chair - they need some cushion! We will definitely be coming back.“

When planning our wedding we knew what was most important to us. Take everything we love: wine, cocktails, great food, supporting local, and combine that with the goal of wanting our event to feel like one big dinner party with all of our favourite people.

That's exactly what we got hosting our wedding at Dachi. They transformed the patio into such a beautiful, tasteful outdoor venue. It was exactly the vibe we were hoping for.

Beyond the incredible food and drinks, every single staff member made the night so fun and special. The overall sentiment from our group was that the team was extremely attentive, accommodating, kind, professional, and genuinely friendly.

Sarah, Dachi's manager and co-owner, goes above and beyond. The support she offered leading up to and throughout the evening was far beyond anything we'd ever expect from a restaurant venue. I felt like we got a bonus wedding planner out of the deal.

I have literally not one tiny complaint. Everything was perfect and we're so thankful!

Highly, highly recommend Dachi for any occasion. We've celebrated New Year's dinners, girls' nights, date nights, many glasses of wine, and now our wedding.

“A true hidden gem for Italian food!

Conclusion first: the food is much better than the drinks.

Here are the dishes I enjoyed:

⭐ Burrata & Rhubarb – The creamy, milky burrata paired with sweet-and-sour rhubarb was such a pleasant surprise. We ended up ordering the focaccia to soak up every last bit.

⭐ White Anchovy Toast – Not fishy at all! The anchovies were tender and juicy with a bright lemony flavor. The vegetables underneath added a nice fresh touch.

⭐ Vitello Tonnato – I’m used to veal being breaded and fried, but here it was cooked sous vide, making it incredibly tender and juicy. The only downside was that the tuna sauce tasted a little fishy when eaten on its own.

⭐ Ricotta Agnolotti – I originally ordered this because of the spot prawns, but the agnolotti completely stole the show. Each bite was filled with creamy ricotta and was absolutely delicious.

The only dish I wouldn’t order again:

⭐ Ling Cod – The portion was much larger than what you usually get at other restaurants, but unfortunately the fish was quite tough in texture. It tasted like previously frozen fish. The clams were enormous, but they were a bit chewy as well.

🍸 Cocktails: Overall, they were just average, though the prices were reasonable (all under $20). My least favorite was the Fumo Dolce. It was described as being infused with peach tea, but the flavor tasted quite artificial. None of the cocktails were particularly memorable.

Overall, we had a great experience. The service was warm, the atmosphere was lovely, and the food really impressed us. I’d definitely come back to try the seasonal menu when it changes.“

“Love Bar Tartare! One of my new favorite restaurants/wine bars — absolutely perfect for a casual night out with friends. The staff were so kind and I found it very convenient being able to just order whenever you were ready up at the counter. The rotating chef/menu concept is fantastic and I love that they typically source local, in-season ingredients. Not to mention the vibe is just unmatched both indoors and outside on their patio.

The current menu by Alan Older was absolutely fantastic! I truly wish I could’ve tried everything. We had the butter lettuce salad w/ rhubarb + mustard vinaigrette, half roast chicken w/ potatoes + lemon jus, asparagus + mint + parm tagliatelle, and the cheesecake. Everything was super simple but so incredibly well excecuted. The absolute perfect spring meal! The wine options are also always great!

The entire experience was exceptional, and the food was perfect from start to finish.We had the red wine braised short rib of beef from Double R Ranch — it melted in my mouth and the flavor was out of this world. We started with the scallops and smoked bison tartare, both of which were outstanding.For other mains, we enjoyed the wood grilled lamb, the Hank tenderloin steak, the Wagyu beef picanha from Brant Lake Farm in Alberta, Blue Dot Beef in Prince Edward Island striploin (10 oz). They were all amazing. The Blue Dot had incredible flavor — juicy, tender, and hands down the best steak I’ve ever had. Every steak was beautifully cooked and packed with flavor.We finished the evening with trying ALL THE DESSERTS! The baked Alaska was beautiful and delicious! The ice cream trio was so creamy and rich. The creme brûlée was smooth and dreamy. The chocolate cake was moist and perfectly matched with the passionfruit sauce. The fam favorite was definitely the cheesecake… we were all wanting it! Perfect flavor not too sweet and very smooth. Blackberries were a perfect match. We also had the donuts.. don’t forget about those. Im still dreaming of them. Highly recommend — a truly unforgettable meal!“

It was the right choice to go on a Monday night since the restaurant is not quite as busy so the noise level was energetic but not boisterous. I dislike restaurants that are so busy and loud that you have to strain to hear your dining mates. Many restaurants in the city just don't do enough about the acoustics which hugely impacts the dining experience. Every dish we had was outstanding and had a real consistent point of view that line up with the restaurant's intentions. The highlights were the crispy eggplant, trout and the duck confit. The delicate accompaniments with the different textures and veg elements really elevated the main proteins and went so well with the wine suggested. We will return for more.“

“We had a wonderful dining experience at Croquette Brasserie. Our waiter was both helpful and charming, adding a personal touch to the evening. We started with the moules-frites, sharing the mussels and fries as an appetizer. The dish was outstanding—perfectly cooked mussels paired with crisp, golden fries. For our main course, we chose pasta sourced from their sister restaurant, Fiore Famiglia, which happens to be our long-time favorite neighborhood Italian spot. As expected, the pasta was impeccable, showcasing the quality and flavors we’ve come to love. A special highlight was the crème brûlée, torched at our table by the waiter. Watching the caramelized sugar form into a crackling, golden crust was such a treat, and the result was as delicious as it was entertaining. “We were craving kalamari. Googled and found nostos. Boy, was this a revelation. By far the best Greek food I've ever had. And I've been eating g Greek food in Vancouver since 1980. Home style cooking; pork souvlaki was sooooo delicious. Kalamari, light and crispy, Greek salad was elegant w flavours popping in my mouth. Dessert was to die for. And most importantly, we felt like guests eating g at the owners home. Vasili and his mom were the nicest hosts you could ever ask for.

“Really great modern Italian restaurant. Everything I have had here is good. The vibe is comfortable for conversations.

The meatballs have currants in them that make them sweet in a way I really appreciate. The spaghetti with meatballs is one of my regular weekly meals when I have a regular appointment in the area 🫶😌🍝 I get the bolognese sometimes too.
The pizzas are awesome and their forno oven is 👌 The ingredients are high quality and the crusts are delicious, soft inside, and the perfect amount of crusty.
For dessert: The gelato is great. The chocolate budino pudding is tasty. The seasonal desserts are usually nice too.

Marius is the best super-server. The service is always really good and the right amount of attentive and friendly without being intrusive or annoying ever.

It’s mostly an older crowd of locals who are regulars and work lunch folks. The happy hour is good. The patio in the summer is lovely too.“

“My boyfriend an I were looking for a place to dine while walking around Gastown when we came across Al Porto. We entered and where greeted by the waiter SIXTO. He made us feel very welcomed and took care of us. We had the lasagna which was excellent and the calamari which we found to be very chewy and tough. Not properly prepared. We ordered Molson Canadian beer and where told that we don’t carry it. SIXTO recommended we try The Kokanee beer which was comparable. We where offered the dessert menu but declined and had another Kokanee. Overall experience was good with exceptional service from our waiter. Will defiantly return to this restaurant next time we are visiting Vancouver.“
