We followed with scallops that were tender, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, then indulged in the foie gras, which was rich, silky, and paired beautifully with the accompaniments. The wagyu tartare was a standout — expertly seasoned, melt-in-your-mouth, and plated with such care. We ended on the Basque cheesecake, which was creamy, light, and the perfect not-too-sweet finish“

“Dachi has really formed this beautiful community on their corner at Hastings and Garden. Lovely folks, pouring beautiful wines alongside creative and delicious food. The food has always been good, with tiny artisan farm produce being the focus. I love the current interpretations of Korean and other flavours by chef Jiwon Seo and her team. Service is personal and friendly, from true pros. The wines are curated, with a strong emphasis on top quality natural producers from around the globe. There is always something interesting to drink and the team is happy to surprise you with a new favourite. Much respect. (Also, shoutout to one of the only patios I like in the city.)“

“Bar Tartare is by far my favourite wine bar in the city. The staff are so well educated and knowledgeable about their products and I love the rotating chefs. They really bring together Vancouver's best!

What an incredible dining experience. Not only was the food delicious, our server Jackson was the difference maker. He accommodated all of our dietary restrictions and made the overall experience fantastic. We got the tasting menu and got the cacio e Pepe as well. Everything was on point! My friend and I sat at the bar, and despite the basketball theme, the staff was kind enough to switch a TV to the Canucks game for us, which was a thoughtful touch. We took full advantage of the all-day happy hour—amazing deals and delicious drinks. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. “Shayla, our server, was absolutely amazing! She explained the menu thoroughly and made excellent recommendations that we were glad to try. The entire experience was exceptional, and the food was perfect from start to finish.We had the red wine braised short rib of beef from Double R Ranch — it melted in my mouth and the flavor was out of this world. We started with the scallops and smoked bison tartare, both of which were outstanding.For other mains, we enjoyed the wood grilled lamb, the Hank tenderloin steak, the Wagyu beef picanha from Brant Lake Farm in Alberta, Blue Dot Beef in Prince Edward Island striploin (10 oz). They were all amazing. The Blue Dot had incredible flavor — juicy, tender, and hands down the best steak I’ve ever had. Every steak was beautifully cooked and packed with flavor.We finished the evening with trying ALL THE DESSERTS! The baked Alaska was beautiful and delicious! The ice cream trio was so creamy and rich. The creme brûlée was smooth and dreamy. The chocolate cake was moist and perfectly matched with the passionfruit sauce. The fam favorite was definitely the cheesecake… we were all wanting it! Perfect flavor not too sweet and very smooth. Blackberries were a perfect match. We also had the donuts.. don’t forget about those. Im still dreaming of them. Highly recommend — a truly unforgettable meal!“

Atmosphere is great. Comfortable and not smoky or u feel I have to change cloths right afterward
They do have a locker for guest to use to store your stuff which is great.
High end decoration with few table serving 4-6 guests, a semi private partitioned table for somen privacy if needed
We sit at the U shaped bar table where each guest have their own bbq set. Pretty good and clean.
Staff a very nice and helpful and explain each steps needed and even help u cook if needed

We are here on a week day dinner and not busy. Heard they are always full in weekend so plan ahead

One thing is they told us that after 8pm each night it’s happy hour where the food have special pricing discount like 50% off or buy 2 get 1 free, even for drinks.

Food are top quality beef and no don’t they are best meet from Japan

We ordered the biggest plate for sharing and it’s pretty enough for us. For some heavy eater, I guess can order a plate for 2 people and order other side dishes

“Okay, Vancouver….why was this place not packed?! We stopped in at Uva and it was honestly one of the best bar experiences I’ve ever had. It was super clean and the vibe is so sleek, but the bartenders are the real stars.

Huge shoutout to Charles - this man was pouring drinks through the air like some kind of wizard!!!And no way to forget Nikita, who is a total pro. He took so much time to walk us through the spirits and even had us try a Chinese New Year special (basically a mezcal made from vodka? insanely good).

We tried the Little Italy In Oaxaca, Margarita Jardinera, Woodpecker, and the Purple Flame (check the video to see them torching the garnish, so cool!). The talent behind the bar is just next level. They mentioned they mostly get busy when the Orpheum has a show, but that’s freakin crazy!!! These guys deserve to be slammed EVERY night. Cocktail that actually tastes like art, you need to be here. 10/10, no notes!“

The service was very HQ (High Quality) and quick - Thanks Server Lily - and the food came out expeditiously - and since we were catching a flick right next door at “Fifth Ave. Cinemas” - food timing was key! I had their Margarita Pizza which was made with the perfect amount of sauce and cheese. It was filling enough to feel like a solid meal, and because it was “Thin Crust,” I didn't feel over-stuffed, which wouldn't have sat well going into a 2+ hour movie. Despite not ordering any booze, Lily didn't miss a beat with constant water refills. My buddy ordered the gnocchi and told me it was Top Notch. I will definitely be making this a regular spot and hoping that the other serving staff will be as great as “Server-Lily” made my First-Ever dining experience at Novo. ###“

“My boyfriend an I were looking for a place to dine while walking around Gastown when we came across Al Porto. We entered and where greeted by the waiter SIXTO. He made us feel very welcomed and took care of us. We had the lasagna which was excellent and the calamari which we found to be very chewy and tough. Not properly prepared. We ordered Molson Canadian beer and where told that we don’t carry it. SIXTO recommended we try The Kokanee beer which was comparable. We where offered the dessert menu but declined and had another Kokanee. Overall experience was good with exceptional service from our waiter. Will defiantly return to this restaurant next time we are visiting Vancouver.“
