“Chef Jin is a master at his craft, blending traditional sushi with innovation and uniqueness, sharing with diners the rational for each dish. Dinner was full of surprises; hagashi otoro, madai in olive oil, sweet ensui Uni, and buttery-soft anago. Great ambiance and great food.“

“Are you looking for the best service, food, experience and want sushi? Well this place is by far the best sushi restaurant in BC I have ever had. The amount of stars I wish i could give this restaurant wont be enough compared to the night sky.
Firstly, I can't express how far and beyond they went to make us feel welcomed and treated us with professional services.
Secondly, the food. Where do I start... I was skeptical with the art sashimi where you decide how much you would like to pay for the chef to work with. I was speachless with what I got. A whole hobo fish sliced up with beautiful design and all the different Japanese and Canadian ingredients perfectly matched together. I appreciated the different plating too and including indigenous plates!
Lastly the price. Worth it. Don't be cheap. Spend it. Experience it. Stop spending $15 on your fast food restaurant and start saving for this experience.
Thank you to all the staff.
From Kelowna!“

“Crazy how quick this place became my favourite sushi spot in the city. It’s not the cheapest, but I will argue the best value for the quality you get. The nigiri set especially. And you also have the option to go super high end there too, if you want.“

“It was an amazing experience.
For each sushi, the chefs showed the fish it is made from.
All dishes were amazing. I particularly enjoyed uni sushi, sabe sushi, and hotate chawanmushi.
The staff was kind and very attentive.
I would definitely visit again.
Dietary restrictions: They changed a few dishes to accomodate my shellfish allergy.“

“Had a positive dining experience in Momo Sushi this afternoon! They serve good food and their staff are very accommodating! They're located in the heart of Vancouver downtown so I was glad I came in the right time. I would have waited otherwise haha I ordered their Beef Teriyako Don and Red Roll, and they were delicious! Will definitely be back to try their other selections!“

“we’re still talking about how great the food was a week later! special shout out to the beef tataki (not pictured - ate it too fast), the soft shell crab, and the scallop shooters (also ate those too fast). honestly every single thing we ordered hit the mark 10/10, we got about 6 dishes. service was very attentive and friendly. it is a really small place so recommend making a reso!“

“Pleasantly surprised at this accidental find when the place we were planning to go to was closed! Cozy space with tasty fresh food that was beautifully presented with good value and generous portions (had lots of leftovers). Highlights were the chicken karaage, which was super tender/moist (like Korean style) and the melt in your mouth fresh sockeye salmon sashimi. The pumpkin croquettes were perfectly crisp, but the pumpkin spice flavour was unexpected and while not unpleasant, a bit too dessert-like for my preference. Service was also outstanding... another pleasant surprise as it seems hit & miss elsewhere these days. Will definitely be back!“

“This place deserves a 4.5. The fish is fresh and tasty. We had a crunch roll that was very good, a sashimi 15-piece sampler with some excellent hamachi and toro (and more) and also aburi sushi, which was excellent. Service is fine, there is no atmosphere but the food makes this place worth your time.“

“All the sushi items we ordered were delicious and the presentation was phenomenal! The sashimi is super fresh! The rolls are exceptional and it's not like any other sushi I've had at other restaurants. I would strongly recommend this place to everyone, it is worth a try! “I was pleasantly surprised by this quaint small sushi restaurant on South Granville. In short, their sushi is amazingly good—great value for the price. They've also created some interesting types of sushi combinations (they are Korean-operated, not Japanese, and I find that Korean sushi is usually innovative). Service is decent; as it's a small restaurant, they do a lot of takeout and app delivery. I really recommend it; I can't wait to return.“

“The owner is very friendly. I have gone in for ready made sushi to go. I always find it to be a good value. I introduced this to my girlfriend and now she loves going there to pickup takeout California rolls. The items are fresh and tasty. Will definitely return.“

“Wonderful sushi. They had Uni Nigiri at a very reasonable price. Saba Nigiri had Yuzu leaves on the top (not just green onion pieces) - that was a nice touch. Also real crab meat California Roll was very tasty. In addition, each piece of Nigiri sushi had a bit of wasabi underneath. That was excellent. I love this sushi spot. I will be returning.“

“As an appetizer, I ordered grilled mackerel, army soup, and seolleongtang. I enjoyed it so much because it tasted like Korea. The grilled mackerel was just the right amount of oil and really delicious, and the budae stew had plenty of ingredients so I was full. The seolleongtang was also filled with meat and glass noodles. I recommend it“

“A small neighborhood restaurant run by a Japanese chef. The sashimi was fresh, and the miso soup was full of seaweed and not as salty as at many other restaurants. The Love Roll was nicely plated, aromatic, and lightly sour, perfect for summer. The skin of the BBQ salmon belly was crispy, and the fatty meat melted in my mouth. You can't resist the smell.“

“My second time for this great, cozy Japanese restaurant! The sashimi are fresh and bigger than other restaurants I had in Vancouver. Their signature Dragon roll is as tasty as usual - creamy avocado, crispy prawn tempura and fresh fish with umami. We love it!“

“Very creative menu!! Would like to return to try other creations. Esp the sushi-hotdog?.
Quaint lil place! Friendly service.
I tried the 'sexy roll' i.e. avo, cream cheese, prawn tempura, yam flakes, blueberry sauce. Everything was fine, except I decided I personally prefer to keep sweet flavours separate from the saltier ones (yam is an exception).“

“We stopped in at an off-hour between lunch and dinner, so we basically received personal service for our family. The sushi was absolutely delectable. Our kids, who are not huge sushi fans, lapped up multiple offerings. As others have said, the portions are enormous for the price. The ambience: Well, you know what you are getting as soon as you look in the front window. However, for the price and quality, I would absolutely eat here again.“

“real sushi. never have i ever bised tuna over salmon
these tuna is not fishy at all but each sashimi preserves its own flavor without suffering oceanyy salty fishyy taste! every sashimi is fresh and handled with professionalism! the server is just as knowledgeable as the chef! She explained how they handle the tuna so it gives u fresh taste! Ever since ive visited here i go back to my town and eat sushi, i always remind myself what real sushi tasted like. i will definitely fly all the way from Calgary to Vancouver just for the sake of Miko sushi! my sisters and i used to always talk about Mino sushi whenever we eat sushi from other places. Miko sushi became our standard for good sushi! Professional chef and staffs make the experience even more authentic! Only if i lived im Vancouver!
Dietary restrictions: Pork! we had a muslim friend too and they dont have pork on their menu which was relieving“

“Attached to Minami, this is sort of like a high-end Japanese convenience store. They carry some Japanese seasonings, frozen and cook-at-home foods, alcohol, soft drinks, probably more grocery items too but I didn't look very hard, and a variety of restaurant-quality ready-to-eat food including sushi, rice bowls, sandos. dango, mochi/wagashi, baked goods, and more. I noticed there were a few items that were labelled as vegan. There's nowhere to sit and eat in the store, but there's parks nearby to take your food to if you want to eat on the go.
I came for lunch and got their oshi sampler and a black sesame coconut mousse. The oshi sampler included 2 pieces each of 4 different kinds of seafood - I was really impressed by how fresh the seafood tasted and by the composition of each piece of oshi. The best grab and go sushi I've ever had by a long shot. The mousse was also very good, it was very smooth and surprisingly light. It came with a cup of cookie crumble to add on top that was kept separate to preserve the crunch. I thought the dessert was good both with and without the crumble added, but the crumble was tasty enough to eat on its own!
It goes without saying this the food is more expensive than typical ready-made meals, but it's definitely worth it, and it provides a nice opportunity to get some really high quality Japanese food without going through the steps of ordering at a restaurant.“

“The sashimi and OMG roll were mind blowingly good. I really prefer smaller places that feel worn in as opposed to too-bright chrome and glass, so this was a treat. If they pulled one of the tables for two out of the main room it would probably feel a lot better in there...Yep. Even so, I wish I were in town long enough to do a second visit.“
