“I ordered the Mega Tray A and salmon sashimi. Two adults and three kids ate until we were completely full.
The reason I love this place is that the taste is always consistent and the ingredients are always fresh. I haven’t tried every sushi restaurant in Vancouver, but in West Vancouver, I think Mega Sushi is the best.
The food tastes truly high-quality and suits my palate perfectly. I’ve never had a disappointing experience here. Even if you don’t live nearby, I highly recommend stopping by for a meal when you’re on your way to catch the Horseshoe Bay ferry!“

“We almost didn't go in, because there were all these negative reviews about sushi. That sushi place is not there now.
Loong's serves above average Chinese food. I'm no expert, but I enjoyed it. We had the noodles with XO sauce (they subbed chicken for pork), and the Sweet & Sour Pork.
They deserve 5 stars, to balance off the irrelevant reviews for the former sushi place, that used to be at this address (get your act together, Google).“

“I’ve been coming to Ssal Korean Bistro for lunch for years and it’s honestly such a hidden gem in West Van for hearty, comforting Korean food. Their doenjang jjigae (soybean paste soup) is one of my absolute favorites — rich, flavorful, and made with really fresh ingredients.
The staff are always incredibly sweet and attentive, which makes the experience even better every time I visit. I also highly recommend the bossam (pork belly) and the soft tofu soup — both are delicious and consistently well made.
You can really tell they care about the quality of their food. Definitely one of my go-to Korean spots and a place I always recommend to friends.“

“The food is great for someone who enjoys authentic Japanese comfort food for a budget-friendly price. Food such as teriyaki, udon, and yaki noodles are probably the lowest priced in West Van, and they deliver in terms of taste. The specialty rolls are decent, not particularly flashy or expensive, but they're fine in terms of comfort food. Overall a good place to get some authentic food after hours.“

“This is probably the single most visited restaurant in West Van for me. In terms of food, it's authentic, comforting, and well-presented for the most part. Would definitely recommend trying their specialty rolls; they're unique, well-made, and worth the price. The price is friendly for the most part, although there are restaurants in West Van that serve a similar quality of food for a few dollars cheaper. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant is great, as the restaurant is heavily Japanese-themed, with unique dining rooms, paintings, and curtains.“

“What a lovely gem in Horseshoe Bay. We decided to give it a try despite the bad reviews. We like to make our own minds up and we are pleased we ate here. We had Miso, edamame, tuna and salmon sashimi, gyozo and tuna maki. It was fab. The sashimi beautifully prepared and presented and it was fresh and melted in the mouth. We left there very happy and so pleased we visited. Well worth a try.“

“We had such a wonderful experience on March 17, 2026 at Miku Japanese Restaurant at River Rock Hotel. From the moment we arrived, the service was truly top-notch—the staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and made us feel genuinely cared for. What really stood out was their thoughtfulness and attentiveness. As soon as they noticed that one of our friends was wearing a veil and the rest of us had our Team Bride sashes on, they kindly arranged a private dining room for us. It made the celebration feel even more special and intimate. The ambience was also fantastic—cool, relaxing, and enhanced by a great selection of music. The warm, Japanese-style décor added a beautiful and authentic touch to the overall dining experience. We also appreciated the complimentary non-alcoholic drinks, especially since we had decided not to drink before going swimming. It was such a considerate gesture that didn’t go unnoticed. And of course, the food was amazing—every dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience with exceptional service, thoughtful touches, and incredible food. Highly recommended for special occasions!“

“Before heading to the Gastown Steam Clock, I grabbed salmon avocado roll and spicy tuna roll for to go. The food came out quickly, and the quality was pretty good for the price. Next time, I’d like to dine in and try some of their special rolls.“

“Very good but the rice is just not quite right which really takes away from the tasty fish! The texture is too soft and it lacks structure. Great location and vibes so we want to like it more. Still fun for a group. The lucky plate is definitely the one to get.“

“We went to ASA sushi last year at the end of the day during the Canada Day long weekend. It was a delightful surprise! We’re visiting the city, and it was definitely the freshest and most delicious sashimi I’ve ever had. Everything was well-prepared and delicious. I always say that I want to go back someday when I’m in Vancouver again.“

“Great prices and the sushi was so good omg. The elders who work there are super friendly and sweet. They gave me miso soup on the house as well. This was a 8 piece Deep fried dynamite sushi roll and I have already devoured half. I work next door and I never tried them before. But definitely gonna come here alot. Would definitely recommend.“

“This is my favourite local sushi place! It’s a tiny little spot but it’s always busy and the quality is excellent. My favourites are their spicy chicken karaage, the crunch and paparazzi roll and yummy Peking duck roll. The staff is always really friendly too“

“My friends called to order our meals and I’m a vegetarian. She ordered seafood sushi and I ordered avo rolls and vegan California rolls but we totally forgot to ask them to separate the vegetarian items from the others. When I went there to pick everything up, they had already separated them which I was super impressed by. The staff was so friendly and the food was delicious! Thank you so much for your consideration and kindness toward us.“

“Incredible food!!!! Husband and I enjoyed the premiere Omakase meal and it was unreal and unforgettable! Every bite was delicious but it was so cool to watch the chef prepare each piece of fish. It was quiet and delicate and very clear the care and effort required for this meal. We’re from out of town but this was such a great find and experience for us!!“

“This is a sushi restaurant that I truly love. I used to believe that restaurants inside shopping malls generally couldn’t match the quality of standalone sushi restaurants, but this place completely shattered that stereotype. It’s the only restaurant inside Capilano Mall that’s always packed with people, and because of that high turnover, the fish is always fresh and delicious. Every time I visit, I find myself deliberating over what to order because I want to try everything on the menu. There’s always a reason why a place stays consistently crowded, and this restaurant is proof of that. Highly recommended!“

“Walked around to get change, refill my Compass card and leave.. this place caught my eye and the music was very calm, staff very welcoming.
I’m eating good sushi made by good people by the water.
It’s raining, but I don’t care. I ordered a Cooked Beef Teriyaki roll to stay, and then a Kimchi Tofu Udon because it’s raining.
This is the place you walk in and order anything and it’ll be good.
They’re budget friendly too, they’ve got things like Shin ramen among others for $6 and for $10, you get a bonus California roll.
Sit down facing the window and enjoy the Jazz music and people walking by. Don’t eat in a rush and don’t forget to tip!
Enjoy your meal.“

“Sushi Hyun Omakase is an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment we arrived, Chef Hyun greeted us with genuine warmth, telling us that this was his dream restaurant—a space he built from the ground up to share his passion. Throughout the evening, he spoke with reverence about his ingredients, working exclusively with wild fish from Japan, and about the trust he’s built with both his customers and suppliers. Each dish was crafted with precision and care, and his storytelling made every bite even more meaningful. The wine list is equally impressive, thoughtfully curated to complement the menu. Chef Hyun’s dedication shines through in every detail, making this not just a meal but a deeply personal experience. I would return in a heartbeat and recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone who values exceptional food and genuine hospitality.“

“Excellent sushi. Salmon melts in your mouth, prices are okay for what it is and you never feel rushed. Great service, attentive and polite.
Premium dishware and properly combined wasabi.
One star less for no salmon lovers combo with nigiri. There are enough of us vanilla-sushi-eaters that catering to this should be standard for a place like this, instead the combo has sashimi.“

“Bursting with fillings and flavour, so it's worth the higher cost for a piece of sushi 😘 I really enjoyed my 3-piece afternoon snack with beef, salmon and scallop, each nicely layered on a solid piece of sushi wrapped in my favourite deep-fried beancurd!! Also came with a good warm cup of miso soup on-the-house. Nice and neat interior with both indoor seating with a huge window facing the street, as well as outdoor terrace seating. Very friendly and patient staff who explain how things work and even give good recommendations! Overall wonderful experience and happy to visit again for another snack or even a full meal 👍🏻“

“Joon's kitchen, once again my experience at your place is a 10/10. Food is always spectacular but the real enjoyment comes from the staff. My server Connie and I had a great convo about keeping your plants healthy and happy. (I love that). And Kevin (chef) let me taste test some of there delicious homemade sauces. 😋
Can't wait till next time... keep up the great work.
P.S.. The music is great and at the perfect volume. Lol.. something that really makes or breaks my mood in restaurants these days...“

“Wonderful sushi. They had Uni Nigiri at a very reasonable price. Saba Nigiri had Yuzu leaves on the top (not just green onion pieces) - that was a nice touch. Also real crab meat California Roll was very tasty. In addition, each piece of Nigiri sushi had a bit of wasabi underneath. That was excellent. I love this sushi spot. I will be returning.“

“You must come here and meet the owner, the most lovely women ever.
Their new menu is very exciting, so far I’ve also tried their lemongrass chicken bowl with a friend. The food here is really fresh and great quality. I cannot wait to try their viet menu and drink, this place is amazing for quality and price for the area (And this place was such a lifesaver for me in uni, I kept coming back here to their grab and go sushi rolls which are no longer available)“

“High quality and good amount given for the premium price. I usually go for the bento box every time i eat at a Japanese restaurant for lunch. It usually ranges from $17-$20. Here it is $24, but its worth it. They even have a kids bento box for $12.95. The chicken kaarage was very good, i recommend to try it if you come here.“

“This place is absolutely amazing! I can't believe it's not already rated 5 stars!
I ordered the spicy salmon sashimi, and it was incredibly fresh! The spicy sauce was just perfect; typically, I don't like it when restaurants serve it on the side, but this one was an exception.
The crispy crunchy roll was also perfect. My friends ordered the Tuna Sashimi and the North Vancouver roll, and everyone agreed on the amazing quality!
The food was served in a blink! Both the waiter and the chef were so friendly.
I would definitely come back again to this amazing local spot.
Enjoy your meal there! :)“

“One of my favorite sushi spots. I normally order for pickup but decided to eat in yesterday. Portions are great, I love the ahi combo. I’ll always have extra for the next day. The fish is always fresh and I have enjoyed everything I’ve tried. Service wasn’t great, server unfortunately had a lot of attitude towards us, but maybe she was having a bad day so I’ll give the benefit of the doubt. Besides that, a lovely time as always.“

“I had a craving for sushi and decided to stop here at Kin Sushi which I’ve been to a few times already. It’s a small restaurant with friendly staff. I ordered the Favourite sushi combo and gomae. I was served quickly and tea was also topped up regularly. Everything was fresh and very nicely plated. It’s a very popular place for takeout as guests were rolling in the whole time to pick up orders. The only knock I have was that the washroom floor felt sticky, the dining area is very clean though. I do recommend this place and will continue to come back.“
