“I’ve been coming to Ssal Korean Bistro for lunch for years and it’s honestly such a hidden gem in West Van for hearty, comforting Korean food. Their doenjang jjigae (soybean paste soup) is one of my absolute favorites — rich, flavorful, and made with really fresh ingredients.

The staff are always incredibly sweet and attentive, which makes the experience even better every time I visit. I also highly recommend the bossam (pork belly) and the soft tofu soup — both are delicious and consistently well made.

You can really tell they care about the quality of their food. Definitely one of my go-to Korean spots and a place I always recommend to friends.“

The reason I love this place is that the taste is always consistent and the ingredients are always fresh. I haven’t tried every sushi restaurant in Vancouver, but in West Vancouver, I think Mega Sushi is the best.

“This is probably the single most visited restaurant in West Van for me. In terms of food, it's authentic, comforting, and well-presented for the most part. Would definitely recommend trying their specialty rolls; they're unique, well-made, and worth the price. The price is friendly for the most part, although there are restaurants in West Van that serve a similar quality of food for a few dollars cheaper. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant is great, as the restaurant is heavily Japanese-themed, with unique dining rooms, paintings, and curtains.“

“i have been coming to this place for over a decade. despite other peoples bad experiences I personally have never had a bad experience here. It’s a small mom and pop sushi shop, small menu, good prices, good quality and consistent product with good portion sizes too. don’t let the atmosphere discourage you, the food is good and honestly their prices are unmatched. It’s definitely not the best sushi i’ve ever had in my life but it’s reliable and tasty. If you’re in horseshoe bay it’s definitely a great lunch or dinner option.“

Also came with a good warm cup of miso soup on-the-house. Nice and neat interior with both indoor seating with a huge window facing the street, as well as outdoor terrace seating.
