Tom Sushi Reviews
Great customer service and good quality food! Been here few times and would recommend to all.
Went to Tom’s on a Wednesday evening about 1.5 hours before closing and couldn’t get a table due to the wait list. We ended up ordering pickup via Uber which only took 20ish minutes. Sushi rolls were absolutely fantastic. In particular, the tamago here was among the better ones I’ve tried. My partner couldn’t stop remarking on the freshness of his salmon and tuna rolls. It looks like a cute place to sit and eat inside (the restaurant’s plating looks...read full review
Great food and great service but it's busy and a bit of a gongshow with how much delivery traffic comes through this tiny place. Good value and would recommend. Great tuna nigiri.

Tom Sushi is a popular sushi restaurant in downtown Vancouver, celebrated for its fresh and delicious offerings. The servers are very sweet and attentive, quickly seating guests at the cozy, relaxed tables. The food is speedy and yummy, with highlights including nigiri like Shima Aji, Tuna, Unagi, Amaebi, Foie Gras, and Otoro. The fish is very fresh and of good quality, with a wide selection of fish and other dishes. Customers often praise the presentation and flavors, especially enjoying dishes like the salmon hako, black dragon roll, and the deluxe hako aburi sushi, which melt in the mouth. The restaurant’s signature nigiri, such as salmon belly, amaebi, ika, and salmon, are highly recommended, with many guests returning for more. Some dishes like the hotate and duck egg with tobiko are also enjoyed, though Tako (octopus) may be less favored for its flavor and chewy texture. The Alaska combo is filling but not very notable.
The overall dining experience is great, with simple modern decor and friendly staff who take extra care with dietary restrictions, offering gluten-free options such as fresh wasabi, gluten-free soy sauce, and sushi rice. Customers praise the quick service and attentive staff, especially during busy times when online takeout orders are common. Many find the freshness and creativity of the sushi, including signature rolls and tempura, to be a highlight. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, although the space is quite small and can lead to long queues, making it a favorite spot for both lunch and dinner visits. Guests are encouraged to arrive early or be prepared to wait, as this place is always busy, but it is absolutely worth it for high-quality sushi like bluefin tuna.
