He was incredibly attentive throughout the entire evening and possessed a deep knowledge of the menu, explaining the dishes with great detail. His drink recommendations were also spot on and enhanced our meal perfectly. What impressed us the most was his impeccable pacing; he managed to attend to every single table with absolute precision, without ever making anyone feel rushed. Jared balances warmth and professionalism beautifully, and he was truly a key figure in making our evening a memorable success. “We celebrated our 10th anniversary on January 25 at Coast Restaurant during the Dine Out Festival 2026, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. As expected from the Glowbal Restaurant Group, the service was absolutely top-notch. Our waitress made the evening even more special—she happened to be a fellow Swiftie! We ended up having such a lovely chat about how we millennials grew up listening to Taylor Swift, which added a fun and personal touch to our celebration. She truly went above and beyond to make our anniversary memorable. Not only did we receive a complimentary cake as a thoughtful gesture, but she also surprised me with a Swiftie friendship bracelet—such a sweet and unique detail that we’ll always remember. The food was amazing from start to finish. My husband had the New England Chowder for his appetizer, while I enjoyed the shrimp salad. For our mains, we both chose the surf n’ turf—our favorite—and it did not disappoint. We ended the night with a delicious sticky toffee pudding, along with the complimentary cake. “I had an incredible experience here last Friday! My friends hosted a surprise bridal shower for me in the private dining room. The staff were thoughtful and helpful with the setup, allowing my them to come in early to decorate the space. They also did a flawless job with executing the surprise by pretending to bring me to a table first. The server was fun, warm and attentive throughout the night and I feel terrible that I’m forgetting her name! All the food was delicious, which has been the case every time I’ve been to Boulevard.“

“Our group of 4 had the Dine Out Vancouver menu. Everyone went with the snapper cerviche and it was excellent. My wife and I had the tuna tataki, delicious! The burrata our friends had was huge. Good if you are really hungry. We all had the branzino. Served skin on, which some liked and others removed it before eating the perfectly cooked fish. The olive oil cake was great but the posset is over the top! Great meal with friendly, helpful service in a lively space.“

“Chill and unpretentious atmosphere, very unassuming spot from the exterior. Super light crispy batter on the halibut , not greasy at all, excellent chips! Salmon cooked perfectly with rice and beans dish. Rice was a bit wet - I would love that salmon on a huge crispy vinegary salad with those pickled onions! (Future potential option? :P ) It took a while for our food due to lunch rush/wave of online orders, but everything was delicious, hot and crispy and made with intention and care! “I had the clam chowder and fish & chips, and everything was absolutely incredible. The fish was perfectly crispy, and even the potato fries had a unique, slightly sour tang that I loved. But the real star was the homemade pickles! the best pickles I’ve ever had! I got extra. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. I’m already looking forward to my next visit! Thank you!“

But be careful with the gift card promo. If they know you’re using a gift card, they’ll say they don’t have smaller sizes (like crab, king crab, or certain fish), and then push you to order bigger, more expensive ones.
You end up spending more than you planned and getting way too much food that you can’t even finish. Kind of feels misleading.“

“We read about Forage in line and decided to try it. What a great decision! The food was excellent. As the idea is sharing plates we selected a number of small plates. We had the fish dip, with lovely homemade tortillas which were delicious. We had a spring salad, the zucchini salad, bison carpaccio, and smoked salmon- everything was great. Washed down with a nice Shiraz - what more could you want? Staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend you to try.“

“I attended my first game of the season Dec 10th. The Canucks played and lost to the Minnesota Wild. The lobster roll was honestly my favorite thing about attending Canucks’ games. The lobster roll tasted good. The lobster meat was cooked well and the texture perfect. I admit it’s been a few years since I had season tickets. I renewed this year and told everyone the lobster roll was a can’t miss. The lobster roll held it’s own but the new kettle chips are a miss. Bring back Ms Vickies! The kettle chips were hard and tasteless.“

“A pretty decent dim sum spot — not too fancy, but hits the spot! 🥢 The place isn’t big, yet the dim sum quality is quite good. Steamed dishes come out hot and fresh, with nice big portions, and the fried items are crispy and flavorful. The rice noodle rolls are super smooth and tasty — definitely my favorite! 😋

Only downside — the tea could be better. It’s a bit weak and lacks that classic aroma. Hope they can level up the “Drink Tea” to match the rest of the food. 💪✨“

“The calamari is the best In vancouver. Mr Jamie was correct in claiming this. It reminded me of kaguras squid tempura. Same thing. The oysters were fresh and our foods were delicious. Standout dishes for us were the Chinese chicken salad, the lobster sticky rice, and the Capital pork loin—all flavourful and well prepared. We also tried the Peking duck; while the slices were a bit thicker than ideal, it still tasted great overall.

Portion sizes were generally decent, and service was friendly and attentive. The manager even remembers me despite not being a frequent visitor, which is a nice touch. Food came out quite quickly, though some dishes understandably take longer than others.

The atmosphere is family-style and unpretentious, and it can get busy on weekends. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but the quality makes it feel fair rather than frustrating. Parking can be a little limited, so it’s best to plan ahead, especially during busy hours.

“Is That French? absolutely lived up to the hype. My friend and I started with New Brunswick oysters — a sweeter, delicate variety, beautifully presented and the perfect way to begin the evening. We followed with scallops that were tender, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, then indulged in the foie gras, which was rich, silky, and paired beautifully with the accompaniments. The wagyu tartare was a standout — expertly seasoned, melt-in-your-mouth, and plated with such care. We ended on the Basque cheesecake, which was creamy, light, and the perfect not-too-sweet finish“

The service attained and maintained a consistent level of efficiency and courtesy for the last 2 decades.
We enjoy the dim sums which are always delicate, light but flavourful.
For dinner, some spectacular dishes require pre-orders. We always enjoyed the braised duck on a bed of savoury mixed mushroom (forgot the proper name of the dish), and many more.“

“Just when you think they can't raise their game any higher Hy's manages to find a way. We attended the Calgary locations 10th Anniversary Celebration on Sept 26th and it was spectacular. The event was flawlessly organized and orchestrated by the Hy's team, the food was next level even by Hy's standards and the service exceeded anything we have experienced anywhere in North America even in the finest hotels. Bryant Olender added a classic background with piano and vocal stylings that perfectly suited the atmosphere. It was certainly the best evening we have at Hy's over the last decade, and I don't think I'm overstating it to say it was a "Once in a Lifetime" experience. A huge thankyou to Barb and the entire Hy's team!“
