“Came across this place while up in Delta, BC and I'm really glad we did. From the moment we walked in, every single staff member greeted us warmly — the kind of welcome where you can tell people actually enjoy being there.
The food was the real surprise. We ordered the fry bread with beer cheese to start, then a chicken dip sandwich and a chicken caesar schnitzel for mains, plus a flight of their house-brewed beer. Everything was outstanding — the sandwiches, the fries, the apps, all of it. Nothing missed.
If you're anywhere near Delta, this place is worth going out of your way for. We'll definitely be back.“

“Ordered for the first time last night for 12 of us and it was great! Had ginger beef (a bit dry but tasty), chicken chow mein, lemon chicken, fried rice, corn soup, a szechaun beef and a green bean with pork version. All of it was good! Would order again for sure. Lots of leftovers too.“

“Finally!!!! I Drove over an hour to get here...been waiting to try and support Jack's for a long time. Let me say it was worth the wait! I was nervous with the size of the restaurant I wouldn't get a spot with my family but we got lucky and the ladies there were so friendly and smiled the whole time. We did the Family meal and it hit the spot allowing us to try many items on the menu. The bowl of chowder came first and it was so delicious, I appreciated the amount of clams and the touch of dill was great. The fish was awesome 😎 Batter and fish ratio was on point, every bite was so tasty. The popcorn shrimp were great to, batter and full shrimp was great! Fries were killer, hot crispy and that touch of vinegar or something just hits. My son couldn't stop eating them 😂 Last but not least that delicious coleslaw, those fresh apples and not soaked in dressing like some places...very well done. I know fish and chips and such is like art and music it's up to each individual what they like, but for me this is where I want my fish & chips and chowder going forward. Appreciate the family run business and passion and hope they can continue to serve and share that passion. See you again soon!“

“The food and service were outstanding. After a long day of travel, the restaurant was a welcome rest. We sampled the prime rib, chicken wings, and wedge salad, all of which were tender and delicious. The staff were accommodating and attentive. We will definitely return on our next visit.“

“Delicious Beijing roasted duck - probably the best I had in Vancouver. The skin is crispy and the meat is still juicy. You can tell that this is freshly prepared and with skill. The first course presents the duck cut in 2 different styles - skin only and skin with meat. I like both and I like the variety even more. 2nd course is served minced to accompany lettuce wrap.
I love the Tuesday promotional price too. Place is packed and everyone was ordering the duck.
I felt such joy eating this delicacy!“

“Excellent and fresh food that is not widely available else where. Service was friendly but SLOOOWWW! We waited so long between dishes while each portion was small/medium size. Parking was limited during dinner and there're only 4-5 tables. Not recommend for large groups of people.“

“This is my go to place for fish and chips in New Westminster! I've been going to it for several plus years now. The fish batter is always crispy, and I love the freshness of the fish. I've tried 3 of their dishes including the fish and chips, oysters, and 2 types of their pies...always great! The staff and friendly, and don't mind chatting to you. It can get a little bit loud, due to it's popularity during their busy times, but it's never bothered me. Parking is not bad, but if you don't drive, it's about a 5-10 minute walk from New Westminster skytrain station. Very handy! Every time I have eaten at this restaurant it's been a pleasant experience.“

“This is a slightly more elevated sushi spot for the Joyce-Collingwood area, which is definitely in need of more sushi options. While some items are priced a bit higher, there are still plenty of reasonably priced choices, including the maki rolls and appetizers, so it doesn't feel out of line with what you'd pay elsewhere in the city.
The nigiri and appetizer selection were the standout items for me, and the lunch sets also seem to be quite popular.
My only criticism is that there was a little too much sauce across several dishes. We ordered a few rolls and the brussels sprouts, and almost everything was heavily dressed. For me, a good roll shouldn't need sauce poured over top. If sauce is being used, I'd rather see it incorporated into the filling so the fish and other ingredients can still shine.
After a while, the sauces started to make different dishes taste somewhat similar, and even the brussels sprouts lost some of their own flavour. A lighter touch would go a long way. The quality of the ingredients is there, but I think cleaner, simpler flavour combinations would elevate the overall experience and bring this place closer to a 5/5.“

“Did not expect much from this place, went here because it is close to where we live. But we left truly blown-away. I ordered saba fish bbq plate and my husband ordered hamachi bento set.
Every meal including the sides are very simple, homey, but cooked just perfect. Every ingredients feels fresh, and perfectly-seasoned (even the salad!). We couldn’t help but cleaned up our plates. We’ll be back for sure!“

“We met up with friends for dinner at this restaurant we had seen on social media. We ordered a variety of appetizers, including sashimi, sushi, a dinner combo, and tempura. While everything was delicious, except for the tempura, which was given to us a second time, the coating was too heavy and thick, making it heavy and not light. Otherwise, the food was great, and the staff was fantastic, friendly, and attentive to our drinks.“

“Late Post: an extravagant dinner but without the luxury features, vibe, decor or background music.
The outside of the restaurant seems a bit sketchy at first and the inside has an odd layout. They were previously located on Park Road years ago, now a block away in a senior only residential building and still using the same fixtures, tables and chairs but it is clean.
Quiet run down, but the dishes was delicious if you're after old school authentic flavours and back to basic to enjoy classic food this a place to be.
New location is a hidden gem that you can't see from the outside, but it's busy for down to earth Cantonese dinner, as menu less fancy and extensive compared to newer establishments. Many items you do need to pre-order though, sue to concept of simplicity.
I must say their steamed fish was really good, because havent enjoyed one just so perfectly cooked in a while. Their portion sizes and temperature of dishes is something to rave about too. Everything was cooked, seasoned and presented nicely. Just don't know why they didn't offer any fried rice when ordered the king crab.
You can bring your own wine at dinner for a corkage fee, but parking is limited in the garage.
However, IMO their dim sum lunch not as good.
Update: Golden Paramount Seafood Restaurant has received several awards, including being a winner of the Hennessy The Elite 10 Awards (Metro Vancouver) and having its chef, May Chau Siu-May, named Master Chef of the Year at the 2024 Chinese Restaurant Awards. The restaurant was recently also included in the 2025 Elite 30 list of the Chinese Restaurant Awards.
They are well known for their Pork Lung with Almond Soup that has great clean flavours with a lovely balance between sweet meatiness and slightly bitter nuttiness a result of careful slow cooking. This soup sells out regularly each night.“

“5/5 stars, totally worth every penny!
Tai Er’s signature pickled mustard fish is absolutely outstanding. The fish fillets are ultra-silky, boneless, and melt in your mouth without any fishy aftertaste. Their house-fermented pickled greens are the star—bright, tangy, not overly sour, just perfectly balanced with numbing Sichuan peppercorns and mild chili heat. The golden broth is rich and aromatic, so good I poured it over every bite of rice.
Portions are huge for sharing, service is quick and friendly, and the restaurant has a fun, casual vibe. Don’t skip the wasabi shrimp balls as a side—creamy, crispy and addictive. If you love sour-spicy Chinese food, Tai Er is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back weekly!“

“Friendly staff and good portions (at least compared to other poke places where they don’t give you a full scoop).
One complaint is that if they’re in the middle of preparing a delivery order, you have to wait for them to finish before they take your order, even though the delivery order sometimes just sits on the counter for several minutes before pickup.
I usually already know what I want and can order quickly, so the wait can be a bit frustrating, especially when there’s no one else in the store. I still give them 5 stars though, as I think they’re trained to do it that way and the service is otherwise consistently good.“

“The food was super awesome! Our waitress was really nice, and service was always fast. All of the dishes were fresh, and we ordered the scrambled eggs and beef, fried rice, lobster and noodles, a seafood dish and the beef soup. My daughter ate most of the lobster, and she said it was really delicious. We really think this is a very good restaurant!“

“We went on a Thursday for lunch, wasn’t too crowded, the seatings were very spacious, and the staff were nice👍🏻 We got the Pork Stomach with Pepper Soup and the Chicken Wings with Salted Egg Yolk. It was my first time having these two dishes and they were both out of the world😮 The staff came at the right timings to add soup for us, but weren’t like some over-friendly people I’ve encountered before that come every 2 minutes asking you how everything was🤣 Too bad I don’t live in Vancouver, otherwise this would be a place that I want to go to often😩“

“Is a great place to celebrate special occasions and spend quality time with family and friends. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, making it a fun dining experience.
The service was excellent—our server was very friendly, attentive, and quick to bring out the food. The all-you-can-eat option gives you two hours to enjoy as much as you like, which is more than enough time to relax and enjoy the meal.
The food was fresh, delicious, and there was a good variety to choose from. Overall, a great spot for Korean BBQ, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and satisfying dining experience.❤️“

“This is a solid spot for traditional Chinese food with consistently good execution. Standout dishes for us were the Chinese chicken salad, the lobster sticky rice, and the Capital pork loin—all flavourful and well prepared. We also tried the Peking duck; while the slices were a bit thicker than ideal, it still tasted great overall.
Portion sizes were generally decent, and service was friendly and attentive. The manager even remembers me despite not being a frequent visitor, which is a nice touch. Food came out quite quickly, though some dishes understandably take longer than others.
The atmosphere is family-style and unpretentious, and it can get busy on weekends. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but the quality makes it feel fair rather than frustrating. Parking can be a little limited, so it’s best to plan ahead, especially during busy hours.
A good choice for family dinners or groups of friends—reliable food, warm service, and no unnecessary fuss.“

“I'm not really sure why this place has low ratings. I have been coming here for the past decade or so. Always delicious food and great service. They cook food with a lot of "wok hey". I recommend the sweet and sour pork, stir fry pea sprouts (dou miu), scallop egg white fried rice, soya sauce chicken was the best, and their fried fish. Dessert was yummy too - green bean sweet soup with taro. Haven't had that in a very long time. This is a hidden canto gem in Richmond. Highly recommend!!

“Chucila Restaurant quickly became a favorite. The vibe is warm and welcoming, with friendly staff who make you feel looked after from the moment you walk in. Dishes are fresh, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented—comforting without being heavy. We shared a few plates and loved the balance of bright flavors and thoughtful textures; you can tell care goes into every detail. Drinks were on point and paired nicely with the food. It’s the kind of spot that works for a casual dinner with friends or a low-key date night. Tip: arrive a little early—popular items go fast. Can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu.“

“One of the better Shanghai restaurants I've tried lately around Vancouver.
Decent, Chinese restaurant type, service. Food came quick and hot. Well petioned and modestly priced. Enjoyed the flavours, the standout dishes were:
Crispy ribs in black vinegar sauce, egg yolkl prawns, drunken chicken. Very nice XLB and the pork with black fungus in spicy sauce with pancakes was very tasty. The pancakes were super thin and delicious.
Will make the trip out to Richmond again for this restaurant.“

“Came here 1st time due to the reviews vs the typical ave 3.4 to 3.9 rated Chinese food places in general.
My wife and I were Not disappointed. The steamed dumplings were piping hot, fresh, well made w balanced flavours in the fillings. The dimpling sizes were decent portions. We found the flavors clean and not over cooked nor oily. The rice rolls & beef brisket were hot and savory flavourful. Thats a combo that’s easy to get wrong, like arriving warm vs hot & less savory sauce with more fat or more oil coating everything, but not here..it was delish!
Now remember, all you picky nerdy asian foodie experts , so quick to judge & shred a business do to perceived imperfections, off brand from your check list standards that the real world can rarely match ….to ones perfection requirements & more importantly….the feeling of power one derives from control one’s world through criticisms to feel like an ‘ expert’.
…nothing is ever perfect to so called ‘experts’
so don’t take my 3x 5 stars as to the Gods truth to perfection. Those higher marks are relative to and proportional to the sea of unkept, bland/ oily mediocrity that can exist in the Chinese Asian world where staff are routinely under paid, under appreciated and required to work longer & harder than most, just pay bills & to put food on the family table irregardless of poorer quality, poorer management, little profit and large debts loads endemic in the restaurant industry.
They must still endure & march on, irregardless of what I choose to criticize!
So it’s nice to see a clean bright operation where staff are pleasant & helpful, where portions are good, the flavors are clean, and the quality is high for the costs paid.
So well done Good Choice!
And if they should slip here or there for unforeseen things, provided its not a physical health safety issue, try to resist wanting to blowing things up as people need to earn a living and survive another day. Be more gracious rather than less, is a better way to exist thru these trying world times as every little bit of encouragement helps, thank you very much 👍🙏“

I tried the small bowl for the first time, and it was absolutely delicious! The ingredients were so fresh, the flavors were perfectly balanced, and everything was prepared with care. The portion size was just right, and the bowl looked as good as it tasted.
The staff at the Ladner location were super friendly and helpful. As it was my first time, they patiently explained the options and helped me build a bowl I really enjoyed. Their welcoming attitude and great service made the experience even better.
Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a healthy, tasty meal. I’ll definitely be coming back soon!“
