“I have been going here for over 8 years! We come for holidays, birthdays, celebrations and every day meals! The service is absolutely wonderful, the staff feel like family and the food is the best in the city! This is one of my favourite restaurants and I can’t get enough! My favourites are the lobster ravioli, creole chicken, and steak feature…. The butter garlic shrimp, BRUNCH… the list goes on!!!“
“the food was scrumptious! try the fried pickles, best i have ever had! i even had a glass of wine , sat out in courtyard and had my fish and chips, awesome food and great service and lovely to sit outside and enjoy fresh sea air and flowers in courtyard . will be back!“
“I've been a loyal patron of this hole in the wall fish and chips restaurant for many years, and it never ceases to amaze me. The freshness of their fish and the quality of their batter are truly exceptional. The fish is always impeccably fresh, and it's evident that the owners take great care in sourcing their ingredients. The batter, though simple, is a work of art. It strikes the perfect balance between crispy and light, providing that satisfying crunch with each bite, without overwhelming the delicate flavor of the fish.Whether you dine in or take your order to go, you're in for a treat. It's a no-frills place, but that's part of its charm. The unpretentious ambiance lets the food do all the talking, and it speaks volumes. In addition to the outstanding fish and chips, the portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. It's the kind of place where you can enjoy a classic meal without breaking the bank.If you're a fan of fish and chips, this hidden gem is a must-visit. I can't recommend it enough – it's the embodiment of what a hole in the wall restaurant should be: unassuming, full of character, and serving up some of the best fish and chips you'll ever taste.“
“My family & I had a really nice experience at the restaurant. Dongmei was lovely & attentive & made sure we were all taken care of. The food was fresh, delicious & flavourful! The Shanghai noodles were delicious & ordered twice!Vegetarian options: Assorted vegetables & rice, tofu option“
“An owner who genuinely cares about customers and the food. At first, we had to wait so the deep fry oil could be changed out. How many places even do this? Thank you Fishboat! The taste of your fish (we picked cod; they also have halibut) was exceptional and the fries portion was generous for the 5 piece family menu item. Seating away from the sun was much appreciated and yes, we rewarded ourselves with their organic ice cream. Highly recommend this place.Parking: You may have to search for parking, but many spots are right across the street.“
“As WR locals we love Zapoteca! Not your American cheese nachos and buckets of Corona restaurant(if you want that go to Puerto Vallarta ffs.)Solid cocktail program and hot AUTHENTIC Mexican cuisine. Gracious hospitality is always a draw for us.“
“Friendly and attentive service in this cozy spot with so many delicious gluten free options! We will be back for the gluten free calamari and onion rings and to try the other GF items. The beet salad was wonderful too. Great portions which make it fun for sharing.“
“The pub style fish are very hot, crispy and tasty. The fries are pretty standard and the onion rings are thin and nicely crisp. The salad comes with a dusting of dried dill, which I liked. The servers have good timing and are attentive. The space is decorated in quaint seaside theme but is a bit drafty on a cold, wet day. They have some fun menu items like hot chocolate with orange infused rum. The floor is a bit slippery.“
“Dined here for my mom’s birthday, we’re big fans of Thai food and can confirm it was delicious and surprisingly affordable too! The restaurant is quite small but we were lucky to come in just as large parties were leaving, I can imagine it can get pretty busy otherwise. The workers were very nice, we were served by a super sweet girl who left us cute little notes with our takeaway which I appreciated! Overall great experience, would definitely come back :)“
“This place is amazing. I loved the prawns ?, Halibut and Yam fries. The owner is very friendly. He goes above and beyond to serve flavorful recipes to his costumers.Beautiful location. The ambience in the evening is even better. It is 5 mins drive from the pier.“
“Enjoyed a casual dinner Great table overlooking the West Beach on a beautiful sunny afternoon Service was good 2 1/2 year old enjoyed the experience Food was great as always Lobster bisque and a little pricey seafood plate. I loved everything I had. Thank you for the window table!! This might have been my 5th time. Pretty good experience again!! Thank you!!“
“Affordable and well-portioned, it’s a really good spot for lunch before a nice walk to the Whiterock pier. They have a bright, spacious patio with a view of the ocean and a lot of seating options throughout the restaurant.Vegetarian options: There are a few salad and bowl options availableParking: There’s a small lot in front of the building that is usually full. It’s situated in front of a large paid lot that’s $7 a day during off-season“
