“Stumbled upon this restaurant and was a nice find. Excellent vegetarian options. We ordered a variety of food and it was all delicious. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. We’ll be back!
Vegetarian options: Nice selection of vegetarian options including dim sum.“

“Great dim sum and service! Our server Teresa was so great and gave us great recommendations! We ordered scallop and prawn dumplings, xlb, congee, xiumai, tendon and rice rolls and they were all a hit! Also good location so you can go to tnt afterwards!“

“A great Chinese place in Vancouver. Much more intimate settings compared with the regular large Chinese restaurants. Excellent food and terrific service. The highlight is the chicken stuffed with sticky rice which is recommended to order in advance.“

“I really wanted to eat Noodles and did a bit of a search on Google Maps and spotted Happy Noodle which was not to far from my hotel.
I ordered the Beef Chow Mein and the Xia Long Bao steamed buns. When served it was really really hot, had to wait a bit for it to cool down. And then when eating it, it was very tasty and good. Personally I thought that it was very greasy which I would expect it to be but I would say that it was more than the standard level of greasiness.
Overall it wasn’t bad at all! Would still recommend it to people who are looking to eat noodles in the dtown area.“

“The food here is pretty good and we didn’t experience any poor service. The wait staff were actually really nice. There was one lady who we didn’t have much interaction with who seemed to have a bit of an attitude.
The free 2hr parking below ground is really good. The place is overall fairly comfortable. They have nice high ceilings and it doesn’t feel too loud or crowded inside.“

“Thank you to Jeffrey and his team for a well prepared lunch for our church’s 11th anniversary. 73 seats were set up 15 minutes before our booking, good food, good service and environment, we all enjoyed the lunch so much. Will consider this place for our next big event !“

“Great traditional Chinese restaurant. Food is great and portions are very substantial. Would definitely visit again! A lot of reviews indicate staff are inattentive - when we visited last night this was categorically not the case. They were very attentive.“

“Literally THE best family business and amazing food. Everything is made on-site. The packaged dim sum may be frozen, but don’t let that fool you one bit- it packs a hefty punch of flavour! My favourites are the ha gow, pork and shrimp siu mai, beef meatball, shrimp wonton, pork beancurd, vegan mushroom dumpling, turnip cake, pork and chive dumpling, lotus leaf wrap, blackbean sparerib, chicken feet, mung bean sticky rice, BBQ pork bun(best in the city), salted custard bun, red bean bun. My grandma’s favourite is the peanut sticky rice wrap. She said they taste just like the ones her mother taught her to make, so you know they’re super authentic!!! Shop local, support legacy businesses, and save Chinatown!“
“I discovered this place from a chatgroup about Authentic Hong Kong/Canton style dim sum and frozen food.
This place is quite remoted but their products are selling at Save on, TNT and some groceries stores.
Their shrimp dumplings (Ha Gao) and shrimp &pork siu Mai are compitable to restaurant. I enjoy their BBQ pork steam bun and 550g/2 sticky rice lotus wraps as well.
If you like dumplings and wanton, they cover most of the ingredients mix and way cheaper than you get on retail price. For example on the stick rice, they sell $6- at their warehouse, but $9 at TNT/Saveon.
Price adjustment at December 2020.“

“We ordered the dan dan noodles (spicy), fried bean-paste noodles, and wontons in chili sauce. I had high expectations for the fried bean-paste noodles and wontons, but surprisingly, the dan dan noodles ended up being our favorite. I’m usually not a big fan of dan dan noodles, but these were very creamy, nutty, and moreish! They weren’t spicy for us, though.
The lady who took our order seemed a bit concerned that two of us were ordering three dishes, but I didn’t find the portion sizes overly large—three dishes were just right without making us feel too full.
Overall, I really enjoyed their food and would love to come back to try other dishes.
One thing to note: they only accept cash, not even debit, so come prepared!“

“Went in with the sole purpose of having dim sum as I do not have vegan dim sum in my area. Ordered a bunch of dishes. I really enjoyed the siu mai, banana leaf sticky rice, and bbq bun. Definitely better to come here with a group of people so that you can share different dishes.“

“A friend really wanted to try their sweet and sour pork after hearing her friend raving about it. I’m typically not a big fan of SS pork. Although it is as authentic as it can be for Cantonese cuisine, it conjures a certain stereotypical perception of the typical North American Chinese restaurant.
I was very wrong of my presumption until I checked out their dishes online and after my visit. The restaurant serves authentic Hong Kong bistro dishes. Some of them carry innovative twists.
For the 2 of us, we had (1) sweet and sour pork (named differently on the menu but it’s easy to find) (2) deep fried beef brisket (3) pan fried oyster pancake.
I’ll start with the SS pork. I did love it at Kin’s. Unlike similar dishes in other restaurants, the pieces at Kin’s are not coated with a thick layer of batter hiding a tiny bit of pork. The pork pieces at Kin’s are juicy and coated with a thin layer of batter. We could actually taste the pork. The sauce was not overpowering but the slight tartness made you want to eat another piece, and another piece, and another piece …
The deep fried beef brisket was very rich. It would have paired if we had ordered a very light dish to go with it but it tasted good. I took the left over home and served it to my dad the next day. He quite enjoyed it. We usually have beef briskets in soups or stews so the deep fried version was a welcoming twist for us.
The pinnacle of our dinner was the oyster pancake. It was pan fried golden brown. The first bite was crispy but the chewiness (good chewiness) of the sweet potato starch used in pancake soon followed. We had oysters in every bite. I grew up eating oyster pancakes very often in Hong Kong as my mother’s family is from Chiu Chow. We recently had oyster pancake at a fairly new Chiu Chow restaurant near City Hall and it was NOTHING compared to Kin’s. The oyster pancake was a special at Kin’s the evening we visited and I hope enough patrons order the dish so it goes into the menu. My mother would have loved it.“

“A true hidden gem in Richmond. The low ratings on Yelp and Google don't do the justice. They serve the best Shanghainese food I've had in recent years. I recommend every dish we got.
Unlike some other Shanghainese restaurants, their food doesn't taste too oily or heavy. Our server was very friendly even we arrived close to their last order time.
- Pan Fried Steamed Bun 東泰祥生煎饅頭***
- Dried Shelled Shrimp w. Spring Onion Sauce Stirred Noodle 蔥油開洋拌面**
- Deep Fried Pork Steak 上海炸豬排**
- Deep Fried Steamed Gluten 上海特色烤麩
- Wonton Soup (Pork and Vegetable) 薺菜大餛飩
I've been constantly searching for good sheng jian bao, and I found one that lives up to my expectation here. Each piece had a half-fluffy half-crispy texture, with a golden bottom and juicy pork fillings. The buns were made to order, so it came piping hot.
My second favorite was the scallion stirred noodles. It was a simple, humble yet fragrant dry noodle seasoned with dried shelled shrimps and scallion oil.
The deep fried pork steak exceeded what I expected -- the bread was thin while the pork chop remained juicy and tender. It had a crispier finish as the meat was thinly sliced.“

“The wait for Saturday at noon was not too bad. Black pepper pork belly soup, the chicken, salt and pepper squids were excellent. The stirred fried noodle with beef was disappointing. They use thin noodles and it wasn't particularly flavourful. Credit card accepted, no amex“

“It's probably a good thing I don't live nearby, else I'd be eating multiple pastries a day, everyday.
Everything's good. Seriously. The cha su bao's got a soft, fluffy bun and savory meat. Sesame balls are bursting with filling. The pluto had yummy citrus undertones. Most surprising was probably the red bean donut with its sugary coating. And of course, the dan tat had the perfect consistency.“

“I should come to this restaurant earlier ! It’s yummy and big size dishes and if you spend over $50 you can get a half soya chicken of $10 ! Great value and the taste over averages!
It’s happy to come for the food ! But only one thing I wanna recommend the owner to get some new cover for the old chairs!“

“It's been over ten years since we last visited Good Choice in Fraser. Back in the day, dim sum dishes were about $4-6. Now in Jul 2024, prices are about Good Choice $8 a dish.
The interior isn't very big and they could use some more smaller tables.
The beef tripe in special sauce ($8.75) was tender and they were right... it was a very special sauce. The chiu chow dumplings ($7.75) were also good.
You don't need to worry too much about the radish cake in spicy xo sauce ($11.75) because it's not noticeably spicy.
The steamed pork shrimp and veggie dumpling ($7.75) were nicely crimped and the steamed beef balls ($8.75) had a nice texture and flavor.
Overall, good dim sum here.“

“My husband and I held our wedding reception at Prince this past weekend and it was great. We had 9 tables reserved for a total of 90 guests. Prince had sectioned off a portion of the restaurant for us and was very accommodating with their serving style. The staff was great as they were very attentive to everyone's plating and drinks. The food was delicious and Prince even provided a complimentary dessert! Our guests provided lots of positive feedback. They were very full, enjoyed the variety of dishes and had plenty of left over to take home.“

“If you go in the fall / winter, ask to sit away from the window if you mind cold air seeping in .
Otherwise, the restaurant does a very decent job in the service and the food.
VERY LARGE PORTIONS.
Peking Duck - crispy skin. Lots of meat attached.
The thin wrappers for Peking duck - Quite dry. Chewy. A little cold.
Duck pieces (bone in) stirred fried with bottle melon - Too salty in my opinion.
Black cod (steamed whole) in black bean sauce - $58 . Great in taste.
Whole Chicken is complementary for order over $100. - tastes very good
Sweet and sour pork chops - ok. Personally I didn’t like this kind of meat too much.
Vegetable with dried scallop - a little too tough to chew.
red bean dessert soup (complementary) - Great !
Chinese almond coconut cookies (complementary) - yum!
Overall we love their free chicken ( 走地雞!which is expensive ) we probably won’t order peking duck again“

“Came here twice. The siu mai was completely different and much better on the second visit. The rest were as good as the first visit. I didn't take a photo the second time, but you can see how pale the xiu mai looks in this photo. The portions are generous, the quality (questionable consistency on the siu mai) is pretty good for the price. Overall, because this is much closer to Richmond and the value is there, this will be my go-to dimsum until they raise their prices. Atmosphere is no where close to the usual dimsum spots I usually go to.“

“Was pleasantly surprised by the quality of their dimsum - we enjoyed ourselves and our favourites were the rice roll and the egg tart dishes. Happy to find a good dimsum spot in the area!
We came on a Sunday around 10am - no wait at all for the two of us. We were quickly seated and service was decent.
Lots of parking on side streets if you can’t find any directly on Main. This restaurant is in a small plaza which makes it a little harder to spot.“

“For dim sum, it's nice that you can order off a paper menu or by the traditional push cart. The staff co-ordinate the two very well. They have been here for years.
They even have a service robot that helps the waiters bring out food for non-dim sum items at lunch.
Been here for banquets as well with pretty good experiences.
Parking: Small parking lot located at the front of restaurant with about a dozen spots but there is free street parking on Victoria Dr and surrounding area.“

“We wanted to have a family dinner for 30 that was good value and great food. A friend recommended Shanghai Lu and we certainly amazed at the food quality and the price! The King Crab was perfectly cooked and so tasty. The dishes were a good size so we all had to take leftovers home to enjoy the next day. Winnie, the owner was very easy to deal with and you can tell that customer service & satisfaction were her top priority. Give yourself a treat and go spoil yourself with great dim sum as well as dinner!
Parking: Shanghai Lu has 10 parking spots on the P4 level and after 5pm, all the spots that are unmarked are also free.
Kid-friendliness: We had 6 children in our group of 30 - Winnie set up a small table where they could do activities while the adults took their time and enjoyed the sumptuous dinner.“

“Delighted to find an exceptional Chinese restaurant downtown! Highlights included the fried crab balls, whole roast duck served two ways (Peking style and minced meat in lettuce wraps), and deep-fried crab with garlic, XO sauce, and stir-fried rice. Every dish was fresh and non-greasy. The polite and attentive staff provided excellent guidance on selecting a variety of dishes for our banquet. Although parking was a bit tricky to navigate, it was free—a nice added perk!“
