Golden Swan Restaurant Reviews
Good dim sum, and good price!
Stumbled in last Friday evening after a long day and Golden Swan ended up being one of the better meals I've had in Vancouver this trip. The Peking duck was carved tableside with real care, thin pancakes, crisp skin, the whole thing done properly and not rushed. Service was attentive without hovering, which as someone constantly eating in restaurants across different cities, I genuinely appreciate. If you're in the area, don't skip this one.
Love it!

The Golden Swan Restaurant offers a consistent and enjoyable dining experience, known for its traditional Cantonese cuisine and award-winning dim sum. The restaurant features nostalgic push-cart dim sum service, where staff roll traditional food carts past the tables, reminiscent of the Golden days. It's a popular spot on Vancouver's Victoria Drive, especially during busy morning and early afternoon hours, particularly on weekends.
While the quality of food can vary, with the fish sometimes overcooked or not the freshest, the value remains decent. The atmosphere is big, bold, and lively, filled with local families enjoying their meals. Generous portions are a highlight, with popular dishes such as honey garlic spareribs, chicken hot pot, and rice. The restaurant has a large banquet hall and VIP rooms for events, along with ample parking in front.
Although service can be hit or miss, the staff are generally friendly and attentive, with some customers noting that they are recognized by name. The restaurant has recently adjusted its pricing, with all items now costing $24 or more, making it a bit pricey for a Chinese meal. Overall, Golden Swan Restaurant is a bustling and enjoyable place to dine, though visiting during off-peak times is recommended for a better experience.
