“I placed an online order as usual and went to the store, only to find out they were closed due to a power outage. The staff called me shortly after and sincerely apologized, explaining that an error allowed the order to go through and that they had opened late because of electrical work.

I completely understood and had no hard feelings. The staff have always been friendly and kind whenever I’ve visited, so I really appreciated them taking the time to explain and apologize.“

“Third visit: has the beef spicy tofu stew. Usually fattier cuts of beef are ideal for this dish and common, but the meat used was quite lean. Not sure if it’s brisket meat or not, but it definitely reminded me of the cheaper beef hot pot slices you’d find in the grocery aisle. Other restaurant use nicer cuts of beef for the same price.

Second visit here. Was craving some homey food, with the intent to get the seafood tofu soup.
Saw the beef tofu soup being labelled as recommended, but stuck to my intentions and was really happy I had my seafood tofu soup :).

Both visits service was friendly. Quiet area but they open late. Off school season so maybe that’s why it was less busy but I’ll definitely

“During our stay in Vancouver, we ate at multiple Michelin-starred / recommended restaurants, yet Dolsot was up there with one of our favorites. We got the hot stone bibimbap and soon tofu stew to start, and they were both delicious. Eating the food took me back to my time in Seoul. We also had to try to kimbap as dessert, and it was great. Highly recommend going to Dolsot for a taste of Korean home cooking.“

The food itself is just alright. Definitely novel as it is a fusion restaurant but when you’re paying this much for food, you expect to be impressed. Wouldn’t come back for the food alone.

I’ll leave specifics out in the interest of not boring people but if you’re specifically interested in food this place can be skipped. Definitely good food but not justifiable in comparison to other restaurants in Metro Vancouver“

“It was full and we didn't make reservations for a Saturday night. We sat at the bar which was open.

The bartender was very attentive and we ordered their sesame sour and the Ok fun fizz. Both drinks were excellent and well made.

For food we got spam, Korean fried chicken and the bossam lettuce wrap.

The food was delicious, the restaurant wasn't big but the space was well used. Overall the atmosphere was cozy and fun

It was my first time there and I'll return to try the other drinks and food items!

Came here again 2 weeks later. The seafood pancake is excellent here!

The absolute highlight was the Tuna Kimbap unlike typical tuna kimbap made with canned tuna, this one uses fresh raw tuna with crab meat and sesame oil. It was super unique and delicious! The Lunch Sashimi Bento was very neat and fresh as well. Staff were super friendly too. Highly recommended!“

“Absolutely amazing place if you’re looking for top-tier soy marinated crab. I’ve been twice, once for dinner and once for lunch, and devoured everything both times. If it’s your first visit, definitely order the gejang bansang set to get the full experience.“

“This is hands down my absolute favorite chicken spot.
Plenty of Korean fried chicken brands have opened up across Vancouver, and I’ve tried almost all of them, but this place is by far the best.
Highly recommended!“

“Ordered chicken through the app while visiting Kitsilano, planning to enjoy it while watching the sunset. I arrived 10 minutes before the estimated pickup time, but ended up waiting another 20 minutes, so it took about 30 minutes in total. Unfortunately, we missed the sunset because of the delay.
That said, the chicken was really tasty, and the sauce was delicious too. The food itself was definitely worth trying, and the server was working hard.“

“Very good crispy pork cutlets, Lean meat with some fat makes for a tender cutlet. Sauce gravy is really good! The sides are mediocre except for the fresh lettuce salad and rice...the macaroni is not that flavourful
..service is very good, nice pleasant staff who bring your food and drinks, suggest for them to follow up on customer after served food...atmosphere needs improvement, needs a good clean as there is dirt and grime.in certain areas, there are smells outside the front door, it is a result of the area although it's improving...give it a try as it is good food“

“Sumi does jjamppong like none other. Seriously…must get! The soup is incredibly flavourful. The toppings are so good. Love the cabbage, onion, carrot, wood ear mushroom, and green onion. The squid is so tender. It also comes with shrimp and mussel. The portion is generous, so you definitely get what you pay for. Their side dishes and kimchi are also really good.“

“Unfortunately, the customer service has been consistently disappointing. The lady at the cashier is never friendly to my husband and me. During our last visit, I noticed she was very nice to the customer in front of us, but when it was our turn, she was rude again. I'm not sure if this is only toward non-Asian customers, but it has happened to us repeatedly.

That said, the food is excellent. We always order the fried chicken from here, and it has been amazing every single time. The quality and taste are consistently great, which is the only reason we've kept coming back.

Their yam fries are also really good! Not many places where two people can dine for under $30, and have it be decent food. Wish my elderly mother & I lived closer, but this newer Kerrisdale addition is well WORTH the drive (or walk) from Marpole (and beyond!). “Hongdae Pocha Korean BBQ was a fantastic place for a meal with friends. The meats were fresh and flavorful, the side dishes were plentiful, and everything cooked perfectly at the table. Everything is prepared fresh, so there is a short wait, but it’s worth it. The chicken was juicy inside and crispy outside, and the fries were hot and crisp. “I came here for a family dinner around 7:30 pm and had a pleasant experience mainly because they had good service etiquette and efficiency in seating my family within no time.

The pricing was reasonable for the size of the spicy beef soup I ordered ($22.75). As for the taste I personally found the seasoning and overall quality of the soup really nice honestly.

My family members also ordered their own soup or stew within a similar price range ($20~30) and had a satisfying good meal, although it was a bit much for my mother to have in one sitting but they give to - go boxes anyways so it's still a worthy deal.“

I've tried quite a few of the dinner joints along Robson but this place offers a solid value for the relatively low price of admission.“

“Food was good. Too much cabbage and onion in the bowl and not enough chicken. Female staff was rude. We spent $70 there and we were short $0.10. The female made me go back to my truck and look for a dime to place the order, which I did. Even my nine and 11-year-old kids commented on how rude the server was. Overall the price was OK. Customer service was poor. I will likely give them one more chance.“
