Although the portion size was modest, it was sufficient, and I look forward to indulging in a larger portion on my next visit. The chestnut-flavored makgeolli, soju, sundae soup, seafood pancake, and makchang sundae were all delicious. Thank you for making it so comfortable and enjoyable for me to dine here.

I tried most of Korean chicken joints in the Lower Mainland, and I have to say this one is by far the best. Light crispy batter and juicy chicken. Portion size is great, the flavour is fantastic, cooked to perfection. Their burgers are (very classic) also really good with great tasting patties and soft buns. I am sad. This place is not very close to my home but it's probably a good thing as I would come too often. “Pretty good Korean barbecue. We ordered a set menu for six.

The meats were pretty tasty. Well marinated and cooked well.

The side dishes were good, tofu soup, noodles, seafood pancake all pretty delicious.

Overall, a good Korean spot in burnaby and Coquitlam for Korean barbecue. Would come back again.“

“This is a friendly and casual neighborhood k-bbq spot! They have great set menus with lots of variety, great happy hour discounts, and the staff are always friendly. They always have fun kpop music playing in the background. We come here about twice per month and will keep coming for the great bbq sets. If there's a lineup, we just go over to bbq-chicken next door for a beer while we wait.“

I had a great experience here overall. The food was absolutely delicious, and even though the restaurant was clearly very busy, the staff remained friendly and attentive throughout our visit. You could tell the team was working hard, and despite the rush, the service never felt careless or rushed in a negative way.
The Sooda Dakgalbi was especially outstanding — full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and definitely the highlight of the meal. It’s easy to see why this place is always busy. The energy of the restaurant actually adds to the atmosphere and makes it feel lively and popular.
I’m a regular at the Gastown location, and I’m happy to say this location lived up to my expectations as well. The quality of the food and the overall experience were consistent with what I’ve come to love about Sooda.
I’ll definitely be coming back again and would recommend it to anyone looking for great Korean food in a vibrant setting.“

“Wow the boneless original chicken was just so juicy and light batter, seasoned nicely, so fresh, and easy to eat! The spicy chicken was fairly mild… not quite like buldak spicy… maybe more yangnyeom level… not too spicy or too sweet. Both were sooooo very good. The side dish of pickled daikon cubes was also very tasty. Fully recommend! Also, they have 10% off during happy hour on Monday-Thursday! Would definitely order from them again!“

“Delicious vegetarian tofu bap (rice burger)! I wish there was specifically a bin for recycling the aluminum foil, because I know the blue recycling bin/box collects them; some recycling stations are only after bottles and cans. I like that some of the food here gets served in paper boxes, rather than plastic. Unfortunately, a single-use cup had to be soiled to create the shape of the bap burger, by pressing rice into the cup. They play K-pop inside!“

Ordered the family Sweet Soy Chicken & Fries Took awhile to prepare the food (15 mins) No wonder ,huge amount of chicken box was packed full. Large pieces very flavorful, not greasy at all like Churches grease feast j chicken . Fries were amazing .I found a new go to place to buy chicken for a game . A tad pricey, buy I assure you very well worth the money . If this place franchises, they will give KFC & Churches very serious condition . My first time there , highly impressed. I highly recommended you try this. Will not be disappointed. Very pleasant staff. Simple decor, but the service & food will amaze you . Thank you so very much for an amazing meal. “Ordered the spicy grilled chicken rice bowl as well as a spicy tuna and a garlic chicken kimbap. Chicken on rice was delicious, moist, and covered in a buldak sauce. The kimbap was also great. It wasn't eaten until much later, but the rice didn't dry out or get mushy and the rice:filling ratio was just right. I'll definitely be back for more kimbap!“

“If I could give Galbi Korean BBQ 6 stars, I would.

From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. We went on a Sunday night and expected a wait, it was about 45 minutes but absolutely worth it. We ordered the Chef’s BBQ Combo D, and it was more than enough for all of us to leave completely full. They continuously refilled our sides and sauces, so we were never without anything. Everything felt clean, organized, and really well run.

My personal favourites were the marinated beef short rib, the fresh salad, bean paste soup, scallion salad, and the cheesy corn — all so flavourful and perfectly done.

This is hands down one of the best spots to come with your partner or a group, where you can relax, cook together, and actually enjoy the experience as much as the food. We’ll 100% be coming back. 🔥🥩“

“Cute little place serves Korean street food! Recommend to get the kimbaps for sure! We’ve tried bulgolgi, tuna, and spice pork, all very flavourful! Kimchi fried rice is good but quite spicy. Bulgolgi fried rice I would say pretty standard, can’t go wrong. Definitely recommend Omurice combo with pork cutlet. If you’re in downtown near by Robson, and want something quick and cheap, come to Nomnom!“

I heard the manager is very serious with the food he serves and I feel that everytime I come and eat.

“It was our first time coming to this restaurant and we give it a 10/10. The food was very comforting. We recommend the eel and the abalone sot bap. It was well seasoned and very tasty. The nurunji at the bottom of the sot bap was very good as well. My spouse ended up ordering another one to take home because it was so good. The soup that comes with it is also well seasoned ends your meal with a nice touch. Parking is easy as we just parked along the street somewhere. We will definitely come here as regulars.“

“This hidden gem in Downtown Vancouver is my favourite place to eat Korean food! if you’re ever shopping around and you wanna eat good Japanese/Korean cuisine they have really great Korean food and great sushi as well. I recommend the RED DRAGON Roll. We are obsessed with that one and also the chicken karage is the best in the city. The staff are so professional and kind our food is always fresh and they always remember all of our sauces. We love Banju! and we know you will love it too. Kamsahamnida Banju!“

“Hello! I had the chance to try out Dai Jang Kum again after a long time. My family had to remind me that I had been here before for me to remember! The Korean Beef and Chicken was delicious. The stoves were hot and tuned up to a great temperature. The cooking surface was big enough to put multiple pieces of meat onto the tray.

I came here recently with a group of friends. There were 6 of us at the table. We order two - Combo C's which could theoretically fill up 6 people. However, the portions felt like it was more suitable for 4 people. Many of us had a small appetite — I was the only one with a lot more. I was surprised how quickly the food disappeared and how hungry I still felt. Remember, I did eat a filling breakfast just a couple hours before.

The service was great. The staff were accommodating, kind and efficient when our group had to move from one stove, to two stoves, to better accommodate for the cooking. We stayed for an hour and 30 minutes, eating and talking with one another.

The parking lot was largely empty on the day we went. I wished there were more people that found out about this hidden gem. Though I am not aware of any all-you-can eat options, I wished they charged less for the combos. Each of the 6 of us had to pay around $38 dollars plus tax. But, I still left feeling hungry. I guess there is always a trade of between all-you-can-eat and pay for what you eat.

The seating can sit upwards of 100 people. The washrooms were clean and tidy. Food was great, but portions and pricing not so much. Thank you for this restaurant!“

I’m very picky, and my mom—born and raised in Korea—set a high bar for me, so I’m usually hesitant to order Korean food. Banchansu changed that.
