“I recently had the pleasure of dining at this location for lunch. The service was exceptional and the cuisine was absolutely delightful. The chicken was cooked to perfection, with a crunchy exterior and a juicy, flavorful interior. The combination of spicy, sweet, and umami flavors left me craving more. Although the portion size was modest, it was sufficient, and I look forward to indulging in a larger portion on my next visit. While the atmosphere, typical of a fast-food takeout establishment, left something to be desired, the premises were clean and well-maintained.“

“This place seriously impressed me. I came here because a Korean friend recommended it, so I already had pretty high expectations — and somehow it still exceeded them. The sundae (Korean blood sausage) tasted incredibly similar to the ones I had in Korea, very authentic and full of flavor. The pork dishes were also amazing — super tender, juicy, and really well seasoned.

The restaurant itself is pretty small, so we had to wait a while for a table, but honestly it was 100% worth it. If you’re looking for Korean food that actually tastes close to what you’d get in Korea, I’d definitely recommend giving this place a try.“

The fried rice and Jajang go really well together.
The portion is huge on everything considering this is a lunch set which cost a lot less than their normal menu price.
Only issue is the fried chicken is a bit too sweet and they are more like flour with a little bit of actual chicken meat.“

The quality of the pork cutlet was amazing — it tasted like something from a specialty tonkatsu restaurant, which is hard to believe at that price. I wanted to try all the other dishes too, but the portions were so generous that I’ll have to come back next time to try more.“

“This small and local mom and pop shop is just simply the best. This is my second time going in person to order take out and they remember me still even from 4 months apart of ordering.

“Amazing chicken as always! We have been several times and the chicken is cooked to order, perfectly cooked, and juicy! Our fave is the snowing cheese chicken and shake shake fries. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend Nene if you our downtown and looking to get incredible Korean fried chicken!“

“Every order is made fresh, so you might be in for a 10-20 minute wait, but boy is it ever worth it!

The Crispy Chicken Sandwich: Very crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Great flavour, not greasy. Perfectly seasoned. Made with whole meat chicken breast. I had to squish down the sandwich to get it in my mouth. Good quality bun and the lettuce leaf was crisp. I suspect they might be using an egg-yolk only mayo as it tasted rich. I really liked that.

The bacon cheeseburger with extra patty: Deliciously smashed with a great crust, perfect seasoning and juicy. It was a little messy but so good! Good quality bun and the lettuce leaf was crisp.

The fries were piping hot with a crispy battered exterior and fluffy interior. Remained crispy even after cooling down.

Original Korean Fried Chicken (small): Made with boneless-skinless chicken thighs, this was also juicy too and very crispy on the outside.

Every fried item had a clean fresh flavour, so you can tell their oil isn’t old.

The tables and chairs were clean and arranged neatly. Lots of seating options. The place looked like a family run restaurant with nice touches of flowers at the entrance, in the windows and on the walls.

It’s a hidden gem, so I’m glad google maps and the sandwich board sign helped me find the restaurant! The door faces the street and you have to walk to the NW corner of the building, as it’s not obvious.

The staff were friendly and very good at what they did and I would 100% recommend this place and go back in the future.“

“During our stay in Vancouver, we ate at multiple Michelin-starred / recommended restaurants, yet Dolsot was up there with one of our favorites. We got the hot stone bibimbap and soon tofu stew to start, and they were both delicious. Eating the food took me back to my time in Seoul. We also had to try to kimbap as dessert, and it was great. Highly recommend going to Dolsot for a taste of Korean home cooking.“

“This place serves delicious, incredibly fresh, healthy and unique kimbaps that you don’t see elsewhere. We stopped by for a snack and tried the “keto” kimbap with tuna and it was delicious - you don’t miss the rice at all. The tangy white kimchi wrap paired well with the tuna mayo, egg and other veggie ingredients. The service was super friendly and the shop is clean and cozy. I will definitely come back to try their other kimbaps and dishes.“

“We almost always have a great meal here. Unfortunately, I don't have many photos, but their sashimi and other raw seafood are always incredibly fresh and delicious. We love most of the sushi and sashimi on the menu.

The bossam and Korean soups are always flavorful and satisfying. The japchae and bibimbap have been a bit hit or miss for us, but overall the food is consistently good.

This is definitely one of our go to spots. The food is comforting, and we always leave happy.“

“We’ve been back several times in a short period after discovering this restaurant, and every single dish we tried was amazing! We had the kimbap dishes, spicy pork, jjamppong, and soondubu stew. Unfortunately I forgot to take photos of my food, but everything was seriously so delicious 😭 The quality honestly tasted just like the food I used to have in Korea.

I even brought my family here, and since some of my family members are vegan, choosing restaurants can sometimes be a bit limiting. But this place had so many vegan options to choose from, and everyone ended up loving their meal. I felt so happy and proud that I brought them here!

Sadly the only photos I have are of the vegan dishes, but we will 10000% be coming back again. Also, their kkakdugi and garlic stem side dishes are SO good. Perfect with a bowl of white rice!!“

The kimbap rice was perfectly cooked not too soft or mushy and each roll was generously filled with a variety of ingredients, making every bite delicious and satisfying. The tteokbokki had a great chewy texture, and the sauce was flavorful without being overwhelmingly spicy, pairing perfectly with the kimbap.

“They did try to warn us away at the door as other people have noted (make a reservation to avoid this). Hard to blame them because the food is both unusual and pricey, but staff were kind and helpful once I insisted we knew what we were there for.

Our group shared the assorted marinated seafood and several other recommended dishes, which were all incredibly good with subtle, sophisticated flavors. The raw marinated crab was a whole experience (they supply gloves), but for me the marinated abalone was so elevating that I'm still thinking about it weeks later.“

From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. We went on a Sunday night and expected a wait, it was about 45 minutes but absolutely worth it. We ordered the Chef’s BBQ Combo D, and it was more than enough for all of us to leave completely full. They continuously refilled our sides and sauces, so we were never without anything. Everything felt clean, organized, and really well run.

My personal favourites were the marinated beef short rib, the fresh salad, bean paste soup, scallion salad, and the cheesy corn — all so flavourful and perfectly done.

Ordered the family Sweet Soy Chicken & Fries Took awhile to prepare the food (15 mins) No wonder ,huge amount of chicken box was packed full. Large pieces very flavorful, not greasy at all like Churches grease feast j chicken . Fries were amazing .I found a new go to place to buy chicken for a game . A tad pricey, buy I assure you very well worth the money . If this place franchises, they will give KFC & Churches very serious condition . My first time there , highly impressed. I highly recommended you try this. Will not be disappointed. Very pleasant staff. Simple decor, but the service & food will amaze you . Thank you so very much for an amazing meal. “Very good crispy pork cutlets, Lean meat with some fat makes for a tender cutlet. Sauce gravy is really good! The sides are mediocre except for the fresh lettuce salad and rice...the macaroni is not that flavourful

“Hello! I had the chance to try out Dai Jang Kum again after a long time. My family had to remind me that I had been here before for me to remember! The Korean Beef and Chicken was delicious. The stoves were hot and tuned up to a great temperature. The cooking surface was big enough to put multiple pieces of meat onto the tray.

I came here recently with a group of friends. There were 6 of us at the table. We order two - Combo C's which could theoretically fill up 6 people. However, the portions felt like it was more suitable for 4 people. Many of us had a small appetite — I was the only one with a lot more. I was surprised how quickly the food disappeared and how hungry I still felt. Remember, I did eat a filling breakfast just a couple hours before.

The service was great. The staff were accommodating, kind and efficient when our group had to move from one stove, to two stoves, to better accommodate for the cooking. We stayed for an hour and 30 minutes, eating and talking with one another.

The parking lot was largely empty on the day we went. I wished there were more people that found out about this hidden gem. Though I am not aware of any all-you-can eat options, I wished they charged less for the combos. Each of the 6 of us had to pay around $38 dollars plus tax. But, I still left feeling hungry. I guess there is always a trade of between all-you-can-eat and pay for what you eat.

The seating can sit upwards of 100 people. The washrooms were clean and tidy. Food was great, but portions and pricing not so much. Thank you for this restaurant!“

We both ordered the Original chicken meal that came with a drink as well and it was only $13.99. The portion amount was really good for the price.
