Kingyo Izakaya Reviews
The food was a great quality - fresh and tasty. Portions as it's usually in izakayas are on a smaller size. Price a bit higher that it could be for such size. The waiter guy was nice and helpful. A couple of other waitresses were less friendly than the first time we've visited Kingyo (when it felt super welcoming). Overall, lovely place. Definitely would be glad to go there again.
We love the food there and whenever we visited Vancouver from Australia, we always went there for dinner. This trip we stayed in Vancouver for 4 nights, went on the first and last night. We are back there again next month when in Vancouver and go there again. Lovely food and reasonably good value. Friendly staff. Can be noisy as tables are close together and there is a big long Bamboo table. Best to book as it gets packed, they do take walk ins.
Love the food. The black/brown unfinished concrete floor is awful and takes away from an otherwise nice decor.

Kingyo Izakaya is a delightful izakaya that offers a memorable dining experience. The service is praised for its attentiveness and speed, with the food arriving quickly, especially during slower periods. The menu features a range of delicious and well-seasoned dishes, including the recommended black cod, ebi mayo, and dandan noodles. Customers also appreciate the inexpensive prices and the restaurant's visually appealing and fresh-tasting offerings. The atmosphere is lively and friendly, making it a perfect place for family dinners and special occasions. The seafood dishes are consistently fresh, and the staff are warm and attentive. The stone grill is both tasty and fun, filling the air with an inviting aroma. Additionally, the Tomato Kimchi is surprisingly impressive, and the cocktails are unique. Overall, visitors leave satisfied, often wishing similar izakayas existed elsewhere, and many plan to return soon. While the wagyu rice bowl may be average, the overall experience at Kingyo Izakaya remains highly regarded by diners.
