“Crispy Wonton is my daughter favourite, my hubby loved their Wonton soup. Singapore noodle is the best in town. Friendly staff and good food. I highly recommend this restaurant.“

“Ordered for the first time last night for 12 of us and it was great! Had ginger beef (a bit dry but tasty), chicken chow mein, lemon chicken, fried rice, corn soup, a szechaun beef and a green bean with pork version. All of it was good! Would order again for sure. Lots of leftovers too.“

“We enjoy the food! I especially love the Buddha feast veggies & glass noodles. The house special rice & chow mein is a favourite of ours and hubby always gets the boneless sweet & sour pork. The boy working the front end, phones lacks any kind of customer service skills. We've had poor customer service issues. Best to pay with debit or credit or he may not have change & will keep extra as his tip, not deserved. The food however is amazing! Kudos to the cooks!“

“It had been years since my last solo dining experience, a streak finally broken by a flashy sign promising a hot $12.80 beef set before 5 PM (along with temporary shelter from the light rain). Though the staff appeared to be new, they were accommodating and I appreciated their hard work. The warm food (the beef set with a mushroom-broth base) hit the spot, with a versatile sauce bar to customize the flavors. I’d highly recommend this discounted set as a pre-workout meal. Thank you for the warm food and the hospitality while escaping the weather.“

“Came for the Tuesday night Peking Duck special. All the food was excellent, as usual. Service was prompt, and pacing was great. Quality of ingredients was top notch in all the dishes.
If you park in the orange area of the parking garage and give them your license plate and stall number when you check in, you get free parking too!“

“their noodles are known for their springy texture and their rich broth or sauce, giving them a distinctly Northern Chinese character and a very satisfying bite. The overall style leans toward bold seasoning and hearty, home-style flavors, with cumin, meat aroma, and the handmade noodle texture standing out; it’s a good fit for diners who like dishes with personality and depth. The must-try dishes include roujiamo, hand-pulled noodles, and pan-fried dumplings, which best represent the restaurant’s flavors. price is reasonable“

“I was introduced to this place through my friend. I was skeptical at first to try it, but man oh man it was delicious.
I had the beef noodles and it hit the spot, it was cooked very well and the broth was spot on. What I loved more about it was the owner who runs the place. He was so warm and welcoming.
I highly would recommend this place if you want the food to hit the spot and not cause damage to your pocket !“

“Rich, creamy broth with a gentle heat that perfectly complemented the tender fish and earthy mushrooms. The fresh vegetables and green peppercorn added a vibrant kick, and the red rice made it hearty and satisfying. A comforting, flavorful dish. I came with my big family and got great atmosphere too. If you are going to bring kids, it is good to order tomatoes sauce fish with yummy crispy pork.“

“We’ve been coming here for years, and the Crispy Eggplant (风味茄子) is still the reason we keep returning. It’s hands down the best crispy eggplant I’ve had in Metro Vancouver—perfectly crispy on the outside, tender inside, and packed with flavor.
This visit, the Guai Wei Fish (怪味鱼) was a pleasant surprise and ended up being one of our favorite dishes. The Sheng Jiao Fish Fillet, dumplings, and chili oil wontons were all very good as well.
What makes this place special is the combination of delicious food, generous portions, and excellent value. We were sad to hear they may be closing at the end of the month. Restaurants with this level of quality and affordability are getting harder to find.
Hopefully they stay open—I’d hate to lose my favorite crispy eggplant in Vancouver! 🍆❤️“

“This hidden gem provides the most excellent rich broth. The extremely good tasting lamb and other meats that balance the bowl of noodles perfectly. Topped with various veggies, this noodle spot has some of the most authentic Chinese noodle bowls I've ever tasted. The service and the fact that you can see the chef making your broth, stretching their hand made noodles, this is a spot worth trying every time.“

“Had the crispy cumin beef burger and the cold noodle with red oil. Both were excellent and the cold noodle had that familiar taste from when I used to frequent Xi'an Famous Food in NYC (this restaurant is not related despite the similar name). I recommend choosing at least a little bit of spice if
ordering the crispy burger.“

“I really wanted to try this place during our trip to Canada. We had an excellent time here, the food was delicious and the staff was terrific! Our waiter, Jamie, was so kind and helpful and really made our experience enjoyable! We are pretty new to hotpot, and he helped us find a good combo, as well as helping choose our soup bases, which were delicious. He even made our sauce for us and it tasted really great! Thank you Jamie for your help and care!!! You’re the best!“

“Tai Er is still one of my favourite spots in Richmond for Chinese sauerkraut fish. I remember coming here back when they were even better—using live fish and making their own sauerkraut in-house in those big jars. They don’t do that anymore, which is a bit of a shame, but the sauerkraut fish is still one of the best in Vancouver.
I also like that they’ve expanded the menu to include more Chinese stir-fry dishes. I also always order now the deep fried shirmp in mayo—it’s crispy, creamy, and absolutely addictive.
Even though some things have changed over the years, Tai Er is still my go-to when I’m craving that signature Chinese sauerkraut fish. Definitely worth checking out if you’re a fan of bold, sour, spicy Sichuan flavours!“

“The food is great and it's always consistent and can't complain about anything that I've tried.
They always accommodate me when I come right before closing because I live so close and I feel bad. But they take good care of me and I make sure to take care of them.“
“We just arrived from Denver and were greeted with rainy weather, so we decided wonton soup would be perfect.
I ordered the House Special Beef Noodle Soup as well. We were recommended to try the pan fried dumplings and they were incredible! The texture was crispy and airy, yet still had a nice chewy finish, and the sour soy sauce on the side really stood out. This place is set inside a small mall, food court style, with other asian cuisine offerings. You know it's good when the menu is in two languages! It felt like eating in Thailand; no frills means you don't have to worry about being overcharged.
The service was great and the food came out within 10 minutes. The soup was HOT, and while waiting for it to cool, I burned my mouth on the dumplings. You can tell the food is all made by hand, with love, fresh, and the portion sizes are huge.“
“This place offers a great variety of dishes with a wonderful range of flavors. Their Sauerkraut Fish (Suancai Fish), Layered Tofu, and Spicy Rabbit with Green Peppers are absolute standouts—highly recommend trying them!
Although it’s a Sichuan restaurant, the spice level isn't overwhelming. It’s got that authentic flavor profile but is mild enough for anyone who enjoys a moderate level of spice. Definitely worth a visit!
Better to make an appointment before go there. It's very busy.“

“I visit weekly or biweekly, by now probably have tried most of their menu items. If you love Chinese with a northern flavour, highly recommend this place! The service here is also top notch.

“We order takeout at this place a lot now. Not only is it closer to us than Big Way, but we stopped ordering from Big Way due to numerous issues (orders were incorrect many times; vegetables were not washed leading to insects floating in the noodles; noodles in online orders were getting smaller and smaller). At this place, at least we have been getting the right amount of food, and the food quality appears to be better too. I recently dined in once and was surprised by the crowd since I went there past regular dinner time. I am happy with the food and drinks so far, but it would be nice if the restaurant can add the reward program to online orders.“

“Food is not bad. Had Peking duck and some other dishes. Food is flavorful but some may find it salty. I feel like they use too much MSG..
The Peking duck is not too bad, but I definitely had better locally. The skin is crispy but the meat wasn't very tender.
Prices, though, are a bit too high for what you get.“

“Yin Ji Chang Fen is one of the best places for Cantonese rice noodle rolls in the area. The rice rolls are silky smooth, made fresh to order, and the sweet soy sauce is perfectly balanced. We tried the shrimp and beef rice rolls, and both were packed with filling and tasted authentic. The congee was also rich and comforting. Service was fast, and the restaurant was clean and well organized. If you’re craving traditional Cantonese breakfast or comfort food, this place is definitely worth a visit. I’ll be coming back to try more items on the menu!“

“The food was excellent! You could really taste the freshness of the ingredients. However, the service was quite poor; we wanted to order but waited a long time without anyone coming over. We waved to get attention multiple times, but no one acknowledged us. Eventually, a male waiter took our order. It was the same situation when we wanted to order side dishes—only that one waiter paid us any attention, while the others seemed not to see us at all.“

“The food was super awesome! Our waitress was really nice, and service was always fast. All of the dishes were fresh, and we ordered the scrambled eggs and beef, fried rice, lobster and noodles, a seafood dish and the beef soup. My daughter ate most of the lobster, and she said it was really delicious. We really think this is a very good restaurant!“

“The logo looks like a deli/meat store but it’s actually part of a chain. I haven’t tried the others (all a bit different) but this one came highly recommended by our foodie friends. Food: 5/5 - They have 12 must-order dishes including a fried eggplant 🍆 which was SO GOOD. A blast of flavour including spicy, savoury, sweet, and herb-y🌿? It was lightly fried and not too oily. Basically I loved it. Our second dish was not from the must-try only because I’m a huge sucker for sour-spicy clear noodles of any type. Although it was not as good as my favourite version of this dish from the Aberdeen food court (Sichuan style) HOWEVER Richie could actually eat this one because it wasn’t as spicy haha🔥. Essentially a “lighter” version but still packed with flavour. It came on a hard-to-reach, raised bowl but I think that’s easy enough to tweak. The restaurant is still new and feeling things out. Our last dish was an omu-rice mapo tofu (lol) and Richie loved it, “It hits the right flavour in every way - not too salty, not too spicy, great tangy-ness, a little oily but immensely appetizing.” The manager said that they make the chili oil and spices from scratch. Prior to our visit we also tried their “sauce duck” or 酱鸭 which is a “thick” soy sauce, sweet duck (think Cantonese/HK roasted duck but sweet) which might not be for everyone but it’s interesting and worth trying if you like food that’s both sweet and salty. There’s also a Nanjing salted duck that we’ll try next time😊. Service: 4/5 - There was only one server aside from the manager today but both were wonderful at checking in and very quick to react to our needs. It’s also the first weekend of “dining-in” again so I wouldn’t hold it against them. Price: $$ - They have a good mix of affordable and fancy choices alike. Ambiance: 3.5/5 - My only complaint is that it’s a too bright inside (I think mood is very important) and I’m not sure what they want to be. It’s not exactly fine dining nor is it casual, nor fun/hip. But the food is good enough that it doesn’t matter. I think we will enjoying coming here and slowing trying everything. #richmondeats #vancityeats“

“Spicy Pro Hot Pot 8542 Granville St, Vancouver, BC V6P 4Z7 Spicy Pro Hot Pot brings a unique and thoroughly enjoyable new dining experience to our neighborhood of Marpole. The aroma of the soup bases wafting from the modest storefront will stop you in your tracks and draw you inside. After choosing from a wide array of ingredients to add to one of three delicious soup bases, you can relax and enjoy the fun and cozy ambiance while the kitchen prepares your dish. When it arrives at your table in a generously large and elegant serving bowl you will immediately notice the care with which it has been assembled. Presentation is not lacking here and the money is being spent in the right place: the kitchen! I and my partner are not light eaters, and we come away stuffed and blissed-out for less than $50. The staff provide patient and thoughtful assistance to new customers choosing their ingredients and spice level for the first time. We love spicy food and usually order things hot, but the mild level is just right for us here.“

“If you ever miss the Vancouver chinese food of the 80s and 90s look no further...this place is AWESOME. I had been meaning to go for years and stopped in for the lunch special. It must have weighed 3 pounds and everything made FRESH to go for 14 bucks. Classic sweet and sour pork with pineapple crunchy and crispy and the sauce was perfect. Ive been looking for a great chinese place like this wondering where they all had gone. Dont sleep on this one....you wont be disappointed.“

“The portions are enormous and the food is high quality for the price. Plentiful side dishes. I got the fried squid add on expecting it to be a little more protein, but it’s an insane amount for only $15.
Looking at the 1-star reviews, I’m not sure what these people were smoking to have that experience, but it’s tragic it’s brought this place’s reviews lower than it should be.“

“Best dry pot place in all of metro Vancouver, but comes at the price of waiting >1hr for a table, and then another >30min for your food once ordered. Make sure you order fast!
Alternatively you can order takeout to avoid the table wait and save a couple bucks for bowls of rice by making your own, but eating there is a little better.

“I just ordered using uber eats, so I am just commenting on the food. It was fantastic!
The mixed vegetables were cooked perfectly and the sweet and sour pork has that old school taste which is really hard to find. The honey garlic chicken tastes great, was a little mushy but the taste is great. Rice and chow mein also delish.
My only complaint is with how greasy the spring roll was, but not taking a star away because of this. I will order again for sure!“
