“I just ordered using uber eats, so I am just commenting on the food. It was fantastic!

The mixed vegetables were cooked perfectly and the sweet and sour pork has that old school taste which is really hard to find. The honey garlic chicken tastes great, was a little mushy but the taste is great. Rice and chow mein also delish.

My only complaint is with how greasy the spring roll was, but not taking a star away because of this. I will order again for sure!“

“We have been enjoying the dishes at Ocean Palace since 2002. We absolutely love the Diced Beef with Black Pepper Sizzling Chow Mein (all of the chow meins are good), the Prawns in Spicy Salt, their Sliced Beef with Chinese Broccoli, and the House Deluxe Vegetables. They are SO good.“

“I ordered the signature malatang with less spice, and my friend ordered the sesame sauce spicy dry mix. I already had high expectations because some of my friends told me this is the number one malatang place.
It really hit the spot!! So delicious. The soup had rich umami flavor and paired well with all the ingredients. The spice level was just right for me since my stomach is usually too weak to handle spiciness.
I also tried some of my friend’s dish. She chose medium spicy. It was actually too hot for me, but still very tasty. Spiciness is very personal, so I recommend starting with your own comfortable level and then adjusting the spice level on your next visit. (Anyway, you’ll definitely come back!! ;))
The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made my experience even more pleasant.
Also, the restaurant looked much more hygienic than other malatang places. Please keep up this great quality 🙏

“Very tasty housemade noodles and beef roll. This small Xi An cuisine eatery with only 4 tables has very basic decor but the owner provides very good, personable service. “Had a weekday family dinner at Neptune Palace Seafood Restaurant. The dining room was spacious and easily fit our group, and the staff were attentive throughout the meal.

We ordered the Peking duck prepared two ways. The first course was crispy duck with thin crepes, green onion, cucumber, and sauce so everyone could make their own wraps. The second course used the chopped duck meat stir-fried with vegetables and served in lettuce cups. Both were enjoyable.

Other dishes we liked were the fresh seafood, crispy chicken, and the bite-sized spareribs braised in black vinegar, which were tender with a nice tangy flavour. Overall, a good spot for a family-style dinner with plenty of dishes to share.“

Their speciality is the Taiwanese style fried chicken leg (boneless) or their Taiwanese salty fried chicken nuggets combo with rice and 3 sides they give you. Before I get into their deliciousness of the chicken, their sides are killer too. They give you a handful of veggies of the day, a thick piece of matinated tofu patty, and soya sauce marinated egg. Protein heaven already. Their chicken is so freshly deep fried, just the right amount of spices, hot, juicy and tender on the inside. Sprinkle some of their red powder on the side if you want more heat. Their portion is huge! They don't skimp out at all! I normally eat 3/4 and pack the rest home. All for $15! “Me and my husband wanted to try out the food here, so we ordered a takeout. We got the Shanghai noodle with chicken, curry beef, honey prawns, honey garlic chicken, spicy deep fried chicken, and tofu beef soup (I dont remember the exact names). The price for all of this is reasonable I would say, but we did ordered a lot. All were delicious and filling! The portions were just right, not too small or too much, which is what I like. We will definitely come back here when were craving for Chinese food! Sorry I couldn't take photos, we ate the food immediately when we got home.“

Worth trying to find this place upstairs in this food court near rice world. They sell out of the pan fried buns so don't go too late!“

“I came here for lunch and was warmly greeted by the cashier and owner. They were both so helpful in explaining how to build my own Chinese poke bowl. Bowls start at only $12.88 and you choose a protein, base, sauce and 3 sides. I tried shrimp with thick noodles, dragon sauce and 3 veggie sides. The noodles were chewy and the sauce added a nice kick to it. I also tried the chicken curry over brown rice. I enjoyed the curry, next time I'm going to try their curry brisket over noodles.

They also have bubble tea! I tried mango milk tea with pearls and lychee black tea with coconut jelly. Both drinks were refreshing with a fruity taste and I liked that they weren't too sweet.“

“We spent four days in Vancouver and ended up visiting 銀記腸粉 three times. That alone says a lot about how much we enjoyed this place.

As the name suggests, they specialize in rice noodle rolls (腸粉), and they do them exceptionally well. Their 炸兩 (rice noodle roll wrapped around a fried dough stick) was the best I've had in Canada, and possibly the best I can remember anywhere. The fried dough was crisp on the inside, while the rice noodle wrapper was silky, fresh, and cooked to perfection. If you enjoy 炸兩, this is an absolute must-order.

We also tried the boat congee (艇仔粥), which was among the better versions I've had in Canada. Rich, flavorful, and generously filled, it was a pleasant surprise.

Another highlight was the noodle dishes. I ordered the wonton noodle soup on one visit and the beef brisket noodle soup on another. The noodles had the firm, springy texture that many Cantonese noodle shops strive for but often miss. In fact, the texture was better than what I've experienced at both 黎良記 and 沾仔記.

The wontons themselves were somewhat underwhelming, but the beef brisket was excellent—tender, flavorful, and well worth ordering.

The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. We have family members with peanut allergies, and when we informed them, they carefully reviewed the ingredients used in their dishes and clearly explained what was safe to order. Their attention to detail and understanding of food allergies gave us a lot of confidence.

This is the kind of place you visit for great food and quick, attentive service. If you're looking for somewhere to grab a delicious meal before continuing on with your day, it's an easy recommendation. If you're planning a long date night and want to linger over conversation for hours, you may be better off elsewhere. Personally, I hope it stays exactly as it is—I appreciate being able to walk in, enjoy excellent food, and be served promptly.“

“The logo looks like a deli/meat store but it’s actually part of a chain. I haven’t tried the others (all a bit different) but this one came highly recommended by our foodie friends. Food: 5/5 - They have 12 must-order dishes including a fried eggplant 🍆 which was SO GOOD. A blast of flavour including spicy, savoury, sweet, and herb-y🌿? It was lightly fried and not too oily. Basically I loved it. Our second dish was not from the must-try only because I’m a huge sucker for sour-spicy clear noodles of any type. Although it was not as good as my favourite version of this dish from the Aberdeen food court (Sichuan style) HOWEVER Richie could actually eat this one because it wasn’t as spicy haha🔥. Essentially a “lighter” version but still packed with flavour. It came on a hard-to-reach, raised bowl but I think that’s easy enough to tweak. The restaurant is still new and feeling things out. Our last dish was an omu-rice mapo tofu (lol) and Richie loved it, “It hits the right flavour in every way - not too salty, not too spicy, great tangy-ness, a little oily but immensely appetizing.” The manager said that they make the chili oil and spices from scratch. Prior to our visit we also tried their “sauce duck” or 酱鸭 which is a “thick” soy sauce, sweet duck (think Cantonese/HK roasted duck but sweet) which might not be for everyone but it’s interesting and worth trying if you like food that’s both sweet and salty. There’s also a Nanjing salted duck that we’ll try next time😊. Service: 4/5 - There was only one server aside from the manager today but both were wonderful at checking in and very quick to react to our needs. It’s also the first weekend of “dining-in” again so I wouldn’t hold it against them. Price: $$ - They have a good mix of affordable and fancy choices alike. Ambiance: 3.5/5 - My only complaint is that it’s a too bright inside (I think mood is very important) and I’m not sure what they want to be. It’s not exactly fine dining nor is it casual, nor fun/hip. But the food is good enough that it doesn’t matter. - The recommended Guoba Rou was a let down because it was basically deep fried breading in sweet sauce. The meat layer was so thin you could barely taste it. The fried breading was thick and chewy.
- Maybe we did not read the description but the egg plant dish was also in a very sweet sauce when we thought it would be savory. Its very heavy.

I ended up with the beef mushroom and because I got the large, I got an egg. There was so much food I had to save it for the next day!
