“My son and I enjoy coming to Bistro Peekaboo! We try and make it a weekly thing since it is super yummy and conveniently located across from his Taekwondo classes. Sometimes, we even able to get in 10 mins before they open when his class is over.Their sashimi, sockeye salmon is Very fresh and delicious every time.I've enjoyed a bunch of different rolls here, and they are all good. A few of my favs are Mango cream cheese roll, crispy pineapple roll, spicy salmon roll, yam tempura roll, miso soup, salmon sashimi and of course saki and Asahi beer!“

“Great location with lots of parking, clean, the service is excellent and the food never disappoints. Tasty, plentiful, and priced right. It's the only Japanese restaurant I recommend. Have been to others in the area, but always come back here.“

“Highly recommend! First time at Todai and they're my new favorite spot when visiting Vancouver. Ordered 4 sushi party platters (sashimi platter and rolls) and there was more than enough food for 12 Americans ? The fish was fresh and the price was great! Edamame, egg rolls, and fish apps were all delicious. The staff were friendly (I called them 3 times to change my pickup times), the space is small but oh so cute. Online order form is so easy to use as well.
Vegetarian options: Had the yam rolls and edamame“

“Dropped in for lunch a few minutes before noon and was seated immediately. The server was friendly and welcoming. We ordered the sashimi salad, the teriyaki chicken lunch set, and the pork katsu lunch set. I am so impressed with the freshness and generous portions of the sashimi salad. My wife and I agreed that the teriyaki chicken and the pork katsu sets were just ok. The pork katsu was thin, crunchy, but lacked seasoning. The agedashi tofu was bouncy and tasty. The gyoza was disappointing and lacking taste. Maybe we need to try other items. The miso soup was warm and could've been served hotter. Our server was the only one to handle the entire restaurant, which did create some delays for service. That won't stop me from coming back to try other items which I'm sure will be delicious. Lastly, the atmosphere is comfortable and it is nice to see they have private tatami style rooms for groups. Thank you.
Parking: Some free parking out front.“

“Good food, although a little high priced. The atmosphere is warm but the restaurant seating area is extremely restricted and very small. It was not too busy so it was not a problem. But something to be aware of. They would not be able to accommodate a large group.“

“First time here. Really nice clean cosy place nestled in the corner of the strip mall. We tried the Salmon Sashimi which was outstandingly fresh. Also enjoyed some amazing Chicken karate and Mango Salmon rolls. Not to forget excellent service by the couple who run this place. And yes, they do take AMEX as well. Come back for sure ?“

“Very happy to see a good Korean restaurant in Ladner. Had the medium sized sweet & spicy fried chicken and filled me right up. Next time I’ll be giving the spicy stir-fried pork a go.
What would be appreciated however are some cuts/vents in the takeout container to let the steam out and not cause the chicken to lose its crispiness.“

“Had a great dinner experience here. It was better than what I expected. I thought of just getting the basic crunchy rolls, salmon oshi, plain udon, and chicken terriyaki and boy it’s better than the average ones I’ve had elsewhere in Vancouver. So went furthermore going for the mango tango roll and the hotate gai nigiri and boy, I was speechless as it was again better than what I expected. And lastly was the price. My son said I bet if it’s under a $100, he’ll pay for it…. And guess what? I just had a free dinner. Lol! Price point is good.“

“One of the best sushi restaurants around! Don’t be fooled by the quaint location and look of the restaurant, the food is amazing. The guy (I think he’s the store manager) who served us was really nice and well spoken which made the experience even better. Sushi tasted amazing and is super cheap compared to what you’ll find elsewhere. Would definitely return :)“

“Probably the best casual sushi place this side of town, the waitress is excellent, don't need them to be chatty but the smile did go a long way. Sushis are always good, although we would like the seaweed to be a bit more crunchy but really that's just nitpicking.“

“Had lunch here and ordered 2 different soup curries - the chicken leg and beef patty. The soup curry was very tasty and had just the right amount of spiciness (you can choose level of spiciness). I also ordered a mango lassi which helped balance out the spiciness of the curry.
The wooden bear in the middle of the restaurant is an interesting touch!“

“I had an unforgettable experience at Woomi Sushi! This place is an absolute gem. Not only are the prices so reasonable, but the quality here far exceeds anything else I’ve tried in town.
Every piece of sushi is crafted with such care—the fish is incredibly fresh, and the rice is perfectly seasoned. Their rolls are exceptional, each bite bursting with layers of flavor, but the Avocado Oshi with a hint of truffle is truly on another level!
With generous portions, warm and attentive service, and an inviting atmosphere, Woomi Sushi has quickly become my new favorite spot. A must-visit for all sushi lovers!“

“Sushi here is so much better than your average sushi place in Toronto area for the same value. The prices are very reasonable for anything in the menu. Both the dine in and take out are really good. I'm going to this place the most out of my trip to the Vancouver area :"(“

“Haven't been to Yuu for a while and we went back last week. Price didn't go up much despite the inflation. Kids order some special drink and the staff even gave them a small ice-cream cone to top it off. Great gesture. Would definitely be going back more often.“

“We came to celebrate the birthday of a close friend. It gave us a good reason to go all-in. We ordered so much that we could hardly walk after the meal.
I like all of their food. The sashimi, in particular, was very fresh and came in a great variety. The baby aji, the hamachi and the toro were the best among all. The skewers were pretty good too. My favorite was the chicken skin. The udon with pollock roe was ordered by a friend who couldn't be happy without carbs. It turned out that everyone of us loved the udon.
Service was ok in general. The reason for me giving only 3 stars is that the grilled chicken wings we ordered came like soy sauce chicken wings. The server didn't come forward to explain until we questioned about it. Then he said the kitchen ran out of the kind of wings for grilling so they gave us something else instead. Aren't they supposed to consult us before they did that? We expressed our disappointment but he just said "sorry about that". Well... 3 stars it is then.“

“We went to Wastua Pasta for brunch, and it was an excellent experience! The service was great, and the small, cozy ambiance made it a perfect spot for a relaxed meal. The desserts were truly exceptional—worth trying every single one!
As for the food, the cream crab croquettes were a standout appetizer. For the mains, I highly recommend the pulled pork ragú fusilli and the fettuccine scallop uni cream—both were incredibly flavorful. To top it all off, the yuzu panna cotta and sesame panna cotta were the perfect way to end the meal.
Definitely a place I’ll be returning to!“

“I came to this place for the first time through a friend’s recommendation. However, from today on, this has become my favorite spot.
The dishes I wanted were all up to my expectations, with fresh ingredients and flawless taste.
Everyone should give it a try!!! it’s really delicious. I think I’ll be a regular here.
+ I even got some takeout as well ??“

“We visited to this hidden gem.
We had an amazing time. The food was amazing! We especially loved Salmon steak spaghetti and assorted Sashimi.
And we came back to here right next day to try some rolls, it didn’t disappointed us ?
Wish we had found it sooner.“

“Favourite place in Vancouver to get onigiri! Loved the cozy vibe and the options they had for food. Food is also affordable and filling. Will be back to try other items as well. There isn’t much seating inside but the food is convenient to take out.“

Would like to come back and try what they offer in terms of food options. But I did see that if you are stopping for food it's a minimum of spend $16 per person.“

“Had lunch omakase yesterday, and the ingredients were incredibly fresh. The chef and staff were very friendly and talkative! I was delighted to try a new sake. I can confidently say this is the highest quality omakase I’ve had in Vancouver—better than the two Michelin-starred Japanese restaurants I’ve tried before. The only thing I think could be improved is that the flavors were a bit on the salty side. If they were a touch milder, it would better highlight the freshness of the ingredients. We also celebrated our anniversary here, and the staff were kind enough to take a photo for us.“

“The Chicken Katsu is pretty good, the chicken is made to order and comes out crispy and has good flavor. The curry portion is a little bit on the small side and maybe a spoonful short for the meal. Overall I would recommend Katte when eating at Lansdowne, I definitely will add it to the rotation of places I eat at when there“

“Very unique Japanese restaurant. Japanese decoration inside. Most foods are set combination. We just visit and try this restaurant. Salmon sashimi is fresh, but portions is not big like normal restaurant we ordered. Personally think this restaurant is more suitable for fast order and quick eater.“

“3/24 quality and fresh fish. They have a large variety on their menu, and the sushi bar had great feel. The uni was very fresh, which impressed me the most. The sashimi bowl gives good portions of sashimi for the price. It was my first time in Burnaby and I would definitely come back.“

“Went there for the first time recently and this will easily be of my favorite spots for Japanese food whenever I’m in Richmond. The food and service are top notch. We had the assorted sashimi platter and dynamite roll. I’m personally not a fan of soft shelled crab, but my other dining companions raved about it. The ambiance also gives a nice slightly upscale vibe. Great place for a date night! The location is convenient and parking is plentiful and free with registration so make sure you do that.“

“I came back after five years and I was worried that it would not be as good as before after reading the reviews.
The picture is my actual photo of the sashimi. It’s very fresh. The sushi roll is also very good. The wait will take a little longer. I think it’s worth it. Two small appetizers, two rolls and a super large portion of sashimi. My mother and I couldn’t finish it. It’s enough for three people. Tip added. Up to 104 Canadian dollars“

“I have been here twice and the food was hit or miss. Some rolls were good others were not and the gyoza were very burned and dry. The dynamite roll was very bitter and soggy. However the tamgo roll was very good. The service is very good though. Definitely worth a try at least once but this won’t be a regular sport for me.“

“I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance during my work hours and chose Box No. 1 for lunch. I can’t say enough about how fresh and delicious the food was—it was incredibly fresh and tasty. Along with the meal, they served green tea and soup, which was also very flavorful. I highly recommend this place—great quality, reasonable prices, and excellent staff service.“

“This bowl of Japanese noodles is not udon, nor soba, nor ramen. It is mazesoba and it means mixed noodles! Think of it as a brothless ramen. And Kokoro Tokyo Mazesoba, which comes straight from Tokyo, does it best. Containing a wide array of delicious umami toppings and the chewiest noodles, you'll want to scrape up every last bite of this dish. This is one of my favourite places to go to when I visit Vancouver.“

“This is definitely a hidden gem, owned by OG Japanese family. People that have tried traditional style of cooking can recognize the difference in their originality of seasoning and flavour compared to other restaurants, which is usually overpriced and over-presented. Place is also usually not busy. The owner was so nice to give us some extra portion to fit the sharing portion as well.
If you are looking for classic house-cooking in those Osaka small street, this is basically it!“

“I recently dined at Sushi Mura and had a delightful experience. I started with the Potato Croquette, which was perfectly crispy and flavorful. For my main dish, I ordered the Tofu Teriyaki, which came with a generous serving of bean sprouts, broccoli, and carrots, along with a side of rice. While the tofu and vegetables were delicious, I noted that the sauce wasn’t vegetarian, so it’s worth checking with the staff if that’s a concern.
I also tried the Sweet Potato Tempura Roll, and it was a standout! The roll was beautifully presented and had a wonderful balance of flavors. Overall, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was attentive. I would definitely recommend Sushi Mura for anyone looking for tasty Japanese cuisine!“

“This is a very popular place in River district. It can get packed during peak dinner times but the wait time was reasonable, less than 30min when I went best to call and reserve a table. Food tastes and looks great. Presentation is very good with ample staff on hand to provide service. Bench seating and individual tables for 2 and 4+ guests available. Now you can order on a tablet mounted next to your table. Free Parking available on a surface lot to the right of the restaurant or underground parking for the Save On Foods / Local Public Eatery / etc.. Commercial businesses. You can also order online for pickup at a particular time as well. Check out their menu online before going because there are lots of great choices to try.“

“This place is very good. 100% recommend. They have tea for free (obviously), but for like $7 for chicken noodles and yummy, I would say this place is very good and they have a lot of accuracy. For $40 for 4 people? That is great!
Parking: There are parking spots near, on the street, and a parking lot nearby
Kid-friendliness: They are friendly to kids.“

“Went on a Friday night with my 2 friends.. order 3 different ones (Niku, Shio & Carbonara) and upgrade all bowls to XXL for free. Also, an appetizer, ebi mayo. The place wasn’t that busy, so it was nice. Service was ok… the main dishes were on the salty side.“

“We love this Japanese restaurant for the high food quality, high staff quality, reasonable prices in today's market & location! Today, I tried the Nigiri Lunch and loved it! My husband had the double meat chicken teriyaki and some of mine cause it looked so tasty, and it truly was scrumptious ! We started with the Crae crae roll (shared). In my Nigiri lunch, I upgraded the salmon to sockeye, one dollar more, but worth it! The miso soup was perfect for us as we watch our sodium and they only use low sodium soya sauce! The combination of food, service & cost is why they get 5 stars! Any staff we saw were very friendly & said hello & goodbye. Customer service is top notch! Aside note, their green tea is one of the best we've enjoyed, too!“
