“This was my first time trying CakeYa and I was so pleasantly surprised at the quality of the cake. I ordered the macha and red bean cake for a friend's birthday brought it on a plane to the Yukon and ate it the next day and it was unbelievably fresh, moist, authentic flavors and the best part not overly sweet at all. It has been one of the best cakes I have honestly ever had. I would highly recommend this bakery for any special cakes especially if you like cakes on the more natural not so sweet side. It was just perfect and staff were very friendly and sweet. A little gem in Port Moody for sure!“
“Quality is incredible. Sashimi is top notch, and even the Cali rolls (staple at all sushi spots) are delicious. Friendly staff and great drink selections. Absolutely amazing spot. I live in East Van and I've now found a spot that I will drive too.“
“The food was great, but Kazu and Toshi would be better options if you are looking for sushi restaurants run by Japanese. I had a deluxe nigiri set, and it was excellent. The service was a bit slow since one elderly couple runs the place. Also, the owner doesn't seem to like to have kids in the restaurant. It's better to make a reservation if you have younger kids.“
“We love this place! The food is so delicious and triggers our cravings. The staff is always busy but super nice and friendly. I love the dine-in experience and definitely recommend their spicy chicken and Godzilla rolls. Can't wait to go again soon :)“
“Tried this place today and found their all you can eat menu. 34 a person which is reasonable these days. Everything was fresh and delicious. The rice wasn't overbearing like you find with some ayce sushi. The service was great, very fast and was on top of this whenever we needed something. Overall I am very happy with this find and will be returning.“
“Honestly,The service and the overall look and authenticity of the restaurant blew me away.I ordered the Meal for One w/ Original Chicken Ramen and the Pork Gyoza, trust me when I say this it did disappoint!I needed a bit of a ramen hit and this was exactly what I needed. Murali, my server, was amazing and hospitable, and that's truly what I desire when I walk into any type of restaurant.“
“I've always wanted to try spicy crab pasta. It was great, as I expected. We additionally ordered assorted sushi and salmon sashimi. They tasted really great. The service and cleanliness of the store were also very good. You can also taste Sapporo beer every day for the great price of buy-one-get-one $9.99.Enjoy it!?❤️“
“First time coming here and will come again to try out other rolls! I was so excited to try this place out finally and now I have to come back again! The food was delicious! The sushi rolls are massive and well worth your money both in quantity and quality. The sushi is fresh and the salmon is very tasty!Ordered the Angry Bird Roll and is by far one of the tastiest rolls I’ve had in awhile. Salmon sashimi was delicious on top of their house roll and it was nice and tangy and spicy. The miso soup is quite good too. It’s nice seeing a wonderful place like this in the Edmonds area of Burnaby. Great service and excellent portions will have me coming back again when I’m craving that delicious sushi roll.Parking: Plenty of parking in the free lot and street“
“Amazing service first and foremost. Quickly sat. Staff cared about our comfort, moving furniture around to accommodate disability. Food came out incredibly fast and was delicious! Amazed with the speed of our entire lunch order - quite literally out in minutes. Friendly, good food, good service - will be back!“
“Was looking for sushi near poco and fortunately came across this very clean and friendly sushi spot. The food was simply delicious, was served within reasonable time and the staff was super friendly. If you are looking for an excellent sushi spot in poco you must check it out.“
“The Japanese employees at sushi S really did well . My server was polite she brought me a chilled mug for my pop. She had an enthusiasm about her that brightened the room. This definitely added to a great visit. The scallop Motoyakii was mouth watering and the Chicken Teriyaki came out smoking hot and sizzling the way it should. She brought it out immediately!!! I didn't have to wait for it at all even though it was somewhat busy. Great little gem of a place to enjoy a quick lunch or a casual dinner.“
“Tasty but somewhat pricy (Korean?) sushi place near Brentwood Mall. Parking is available but limited in the strip mall lot. The place looks more like an ice cream or dessert shop with the black and pink stripes on the wall, as well as the flower looking lighting fixtures. Staff are friendly. Looks like 2 friends run this place. My food took some 20+ minutes to arrive, so they gave me a free green tea while I was waiting, which was nice. Also nice to see they make the food fresh. Seafood poke bowl - salmon and tuna chunks with a prawn on top. Served with shredded carrots, broccoli, cucumber, and cherry tomatoes. Bowl was honestly a bit on the smaller side. Tasted fine though. West coast roll - crab, prawn tempura, spicy tuna, scallop. Served warm (guessing it's the tempura). Tasty. Overall this place is pretty good. The other added bonus is they're open quite late (2300 most days as of the time of writing). Recommended.“
“service and food were absolutely on point! The staff was super friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. And the food Oh my goodness, it was delicious! Every bite was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. I couldn't get enough of it! I highly recommend giving this place a try. You won't be disappointed! ??“
“The older lady who works here is very kind, funny, and witty. The presentation, price, and potions of everything here was good. I would definitely come back. They have a large menu so tons of items to try each time. The sushi tacos here are unique from other restaurants. I would highly recommend the uni taco and the negi maguro. I thought the oyster Motoyaki was okay. It came with spinach and sliced onions, and cheese. I personally wouldn’t order it again. I generally like mine with mayo, cheese, lime, and cubed mushrooms and or cubed onions. The Beef Tenderloin & Foie Gras Aburi Oshi was okay, I could personally do without the foie gras as I’m not a fan. We ordered the assorted sashimi which was good, as well as the Kosho Aburi Roll“
“The salmon oshi here is the most delicious. The size is just right, and the jalapenos on top are thin and well-cooked with a torch, so the texture is good. The salmon is also well-cooked. I tried it here and it was delicious, so I went to another restaurant and ordered it, but I was surprised to see it came out undercooked. It's new. I tried the menu and it was delicious. It's bulgogi stir-fried udon, and even though it was packaged, the noodles were soft and not soggy. The salmon sashimi was thick and had a really good texture. Needless to say, the taste was great.“
“1st time, located in nice area by Fraser Heights, right off the Hwy so convenient for me.Here’s the go-to, absolutely is their signature: the Zion roll! As per pic, whatever sauce it is, it’s downright different and delicious! 10/10Tornado roll: prawn, crab meat & tuna tataki: 8/10Salmon Oishii: stay away! Just average, rice way too thick, n no bite to it in terms of the jalepeno, barely tasted it. Good mayo though.Looking forward to trying other rolls soon!Friendly service for pickup.Would’ve been a 5 if they accepted Amex.“
“First time at sushi box, very impressed. The sushi is fresh and tastes awesome. Got the tiger roll, spicy sashimi, Alaska roll, and a few pieces of nigiri which was packed with tons of flavour can tell fish is fresh and high quality. Amount of food and quality was worth it for its price. Service and atmosphere was great!“
“Jenny and her husband run this ma and pop spot with an updated place the restaurant itself is comfy and welcoming Always inviting with a warm welcome and a happy fairwell it keeps you coming back food is second to noneParking: I always park above London drugs plenty of sports there“
“The place its pretty and the service is excellent.Good prices if you don't have a lot of money.Inside of restaurant, has a luxury atmosphere.Waiter offer and excellent service.I'm not very fanatic of sushi, but California Rolls was excellent.Recommend it.“
“Nice, quiet place with helpful staff. It was a bit out of the way but an awesome find. Strongly recommended for the interesting menu selection and the variety of the sushi offered. We tried Aburi Salmon Fire Roll and Crunch Deep Fried Roll. Loved it ?Fair prices“
“Auntie is so kind! The Teppanyaki is authentic Taiwanese style. Abei is very good at frying steaks. I ordered sirloin and filet during my first visit. They were super tender and delicious! The bean sprouts are also super fragrant, and the sauce is neither salty nor greasy and goes very well with rice.“
“I see the high reviews but for me I'm not huge on this place. Reason being is the price is so expensive and I do find it lacks flavour. The lunch boxes are nice because you get gomae as well and presentation is very nice on everything, again lacks flavour and sauce and I just don't see the hype.“
“Our first experience at Sushi Moro Burnaby was great. The service was excellent as our tea was always refilled, plates cleared and food delivered on time. The sushi was flavourful and fresh. We will be back again. Thanks sushi modo! We got the salmon Oshi, Saba oshi, chefs roll, popping roll and “
“My partner and I are sad to hear of your closure. You have been serving an outstanding Japanese meals in the past ten years. When we showcased our neighborhood to out of town visitors a stop at your restaurant was always a must. We will sure miss you and wish you the best.“
“Top-notch sushi experience, eh? The chef, super friendly and Japanese, really kicks it up a notch with his delicious flair and generous portions, eh? The miso soup? Absolutely killer, eh? Couldn’t resist grabbing one to-go, eh? Highly recommend, bud! ?????“
“Craving Japanese food in Coquitlam? Shio Kitchen impresses! They balance classic sushi with unique creations like the Katsu Burger. Beyond sushi, they offer flavorful rice bowls, noodles, and creative entrees. Lunch and dinner combos deliver value. The modern space with counter seating creates a casual vibe. Fresh ingredients, variety, and friendly service make Shio a must-try.“
“Sushi Kilala is a hidden gem runs by a Japanese family. Ingredients are always fresh and sushi are delicately made. Some of our favorite sushi are Hamachi, Toro and Saba nirigi. The chopped scallop Gunkan is also very good.Highly recommended!“
“Hidden sushi gem in Surrey! Surprisingly my go-to sushi spot; quality rolls with good portion sizes, for a decent price. Have been dining in and ordering takeout out, no changes in quality. Service is always attentive, small cozy shop. Very underrated!!“
“Convenient and delicious. The small shop is outside the skytrain. It has a lot of wine that I like to drink, but parking is a problem.Parking: You can take the skytrain. There are not many parking spaces on the roadside. There are paid parking spaces at the bowling alley next to it.“
“Celebrated a family anniversary with delicious omakase from Keith and Chika's teamwork. Chika also asked for allergies and special requests, which was very welcome.Would love to try the assorted sashimi platter and some nigiri next time I'm in. Pick up orders are one day at least in advance. Omakase starts from $90/ppMy favorites from this platter (if I recall correctly from Keith's kind explanation) were Engawa, sablefish, Spanish mackerel, Hokkaido hotate, Keith's special scallop salmon nigiri and a few other fish in there. Looking forward to returning soon.“
“The sushi there was decent.Sashimi was cut a little thicker than I was expecting, tasted fine. The nigiri I had was decent. The assorted tempura had fairly large slices of vegetables which tasted pretty good.Service was great and it's a mom and pop shop.Nice little place to get some sushi in Newton.“
“We always come here for takeout sushi and it's one of the best. Simple rolls but well done and they have big portions. I was always surprised when I go to other spots that have tiny rolls the size of a loony and sell it for the same price as theirs. Highly recommend this place for simple and no gimmick but amazing food!“
“We often come here for a fresh, delicious traditional Japanese dinner here. We always order the otoro, uni, spot prawn( head fried, body sashimi) and some other nigiri sushi and unagi don, my kid's most favorite dish. It's not cheap but you won't regret it. It's the best one with quality and tasty Japanese food in the Surrey / Langley area.Parking: Some spots in the parking place are reserved by the restaurant and there are more in the small plaza.“
“A fan of Togo Sushi Sashimi... Tried out their new menu - Korean Chirashi Donburi. The sashimi was fresh and the amount was very generous. I loved the way the spicy & sweet sauce blended well with the sashimi and the rice. Please make this menu permanent“
“The waitress was very helpful, kind, and considerate.I ordered:One corn salad inari sushi. One tempura inari sushi. One unagi inari sushi.Three spicy inari sushi.I loved everything, everything tasted perfect. Especially the rice that was made with sesame oil, it had a perfect balance. The toppings for each sushi was fantastic, very tasty and wonderful.Highly recommended. The price was roughly $23 dollars, this was a good price. Please note:I cut the size of the box with scizzers because I wanted a clear picture.“
“Best sushi order I ever had! Service was amazing ?The only place I've seen that has Salmon elly sashimi which is my favorite! And the spider roll had the perfect balance of ingredients and flavors even the batter on the crab was crispy but not too thick.Waitress was so friendly and kind.“
“Didn’t take pictures of the food but the quality was really good. Came in not expecting much but probably the best tonkatsu place around. The quantity and quality were great. Price is a bit higher than I’d like but no complaints paying for the better quality. The batter isn’t too thick, also really well balanced with the quantity. They have an offer of unlimited rice, soup, and salad. But the quantity they give makes you not have to rely on the fillers. The salad is very finely chopped which is great but the miso soup was a bit too watered down but not bad. This will be my go to place for tonkatsu going forward ??“
“Hidden gem in the neighborhood. High quality fish and creative fusion menu. Surprisingly low traffic in store so the dining experience feels private. Well decorated and Disney tracks playing softly in the background, makes for a great date avenue.Happy hour menu is not cheaper but just smaller portions, would recommend for trying items on their menu.“
“Very quaint sushi restaurant in the middle of a residential neighborhood. The interior was very quaint and the staff were very nice. The kake udon broth was especially good, and I liked the amount of salmon provided for the two pieces of salmon nigiri that I ordered. The atmosphere is very nice, and I enjoyed the soft piano jazz that was playing in the background. Hidden gem for sure.“
“Beers in ice chilled glasses! Highlight of the night sharing some large bottles of Asahi. We had a great meal consisting of the basics; an omakase sashimi set, that included two lightly grilled options that were particularly delicious. The mixed tempura was so satisfying, and we had the beef teriyaki on a hot plate with some miso and rice to finish. We eat a lot of sushi and were blown away to have such a nice meal before our movie. We will definitely come back.“
“A place with good mazesoba (dry mixed noodles) with reasonable price! The noodle itself is very flavourful, and they also have condiments like vinegar and chili flakes for you to adjust the flavour to your liking. They also have very generous portion sizes, and you can add extra noodle for free (portion size comes in regular, XL, XXL). They also provide a small bowl of rice at the end to mix with all the leftover sauces at the end.We ordered the Niku Mazesoba (Spicy) for $16.50 and added a soil boiled egg on the side for $1.99. We both left very satisfied. Will definitely come back again!“
“Yoko In Austin Heights is awesome ?. Been ordering take out for years, but decided to dine in today. The food has always been reliable, fresh and good variety of offerings. One thing that stood out to us on this visit was this hedgehog ? dessert. It was a chocolate ? covered chocolate gelato ice cream ?, it was so good. I highly suggest you try it out. We ordered the chicken cutlet and the teriyaki beef roll. We normally or the Maki, oshi and negiri which is good but this time we wanted to try other options and we were pleasantly surprised. The chicken cutlet was nice and crispy dark chicken ? meat and when he dipped it into the sauce that came with it was tasty. I left happy content and full...“
“The sashimi and rolls were very fresh and delicious, but what captured my palate the most was the beef teriyaki. The harmony of ingredients and seasoning was just right. The staff were all friendly, kind, and attentive. I will definitely come back with my family.“
“Little restaurant hidden inside the plaza mall. Open on Family Day-BC stat holiday and stopped by for the first time, as a result (other restaurants closed). Called ahead for pickup and was ready on time. Owner saw that I was carrying extra groceries without a bag and offered an extra reusable. So kind. Great food at reasonable price.“
“Great local sushi spot! I just wish it was a little bigger - it's basically a cute hole-in-the-wall type place. Great quality sushi for our area (small town) but like many other places, their prices jumped so much in 2023 we no longer go there unless it's a rare special occasion.“
“A cut above AND great value! Stopped in here for dinner because we were in the neighbourhood -kind of a random pick. Their take on dishes common all over the city was consistently unique and subtly complex. We will make a point of going back.Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options. I always like to see an umeshiso roll on the menu (not every Japanese/sushi restaurant has it) and theirs did not disappoint“
“We ordered Party Tray C and a BC Combo from Sushi Farm in New Westminster, using the Fantuan app. Nothing special like Aburi or Oshi sushi but the food was nicely done. Everything tasted fresh, and it was very good value. The party tray was $36.70 and came with 50 pieces on it, while the BC Combo was $12.55 with a BOGO free offer on it, so we got two BC Combos for $12.55! We'd never heard of this place before. Just found it by looking through Fantuan, but having now discovered it, I think we'll be ordering from here again sometime. They've got a pretty good rating on Google!“
“I was in the mood for poke and they’re having to be this location right as I was driving by so I popped in. The staff were welcoming and friendly, ?it’s a big portion Of food and very tasty and I like that there are lots of sides to get aside from your tuna or salmon. I think the atmosphere is very pretty. I like the Hawaiian aesthetic, the fish ? and paintings ?️ on the wall.“
“I have tried dozens upon dozens of sushi restaurants throughout the lower mainland, and this place is as simple and authentic as it gets. For people that can really appreciate fresh, authentically prepared nigiri and can taste the difference in quality - this place is for you.“
“We appreciated the stir fried veggies with the black cod, which turns it into more of an entree. The sushi was good, but the rice had a sticky texture that distracted from the taste of the fish, rather than complementing it.The fish was good quality.“
