We’ve been loyal customers for over 15 years, and Sushi Bar Shyun never disappoints! The food is always top-notch, and the service is consistently excellent. It’s rare to find truly authentic Japanese sushi, and this place delivers every time. Highly recommended!
A surprising and unassuming Japanese-owned sushi shop that reminded me of my visits to Japan. Super fresh nigiri and sashimi, with platter items you'd normally expect at a higher-end Vancouver omakase.

Definitely of the hole in the wall gem. The sushi was absolutely outstanding. Went with some friends here and every dish we had was fantastic! The chilli prawns were phenomenal also.

With generous portions and high-quality raw fish, it's worth every penny. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, and the staff is very responsive to reservations and questions. The menu features many different types of nigiri, highlighting the fish in their preparation, and stays true to the Japanese experience without relying too much on rolls or sauces. The sushi is always fresh, and the premium nigiri sets are especially tasty, with many cuts of premium fish like anago, toro, and Uni. The plates are also very beautiful, and dishes like the unagi roll and assorted tempura are highly recommended. The miso soup and crispy oysters add to the meal, offering a variety of delicious options. Overall, it’s a great place to enjoy authentic sushi in the tri cities.
