“Such a good a sushi place, been going here for awhile and love it, new staff member Jamie was so lovely to deal with, she made a mistake on our order by accident (it happens!) & fixed it right away she was very friendly and sweet hope to get her as our waitress next time we eat in! Thanks again for everything Jamie!“

“If you love bold flavors and a good spice challenge, Curry Soup Garaku is the place to be! Their spice levels range from 1 to 40, making it perfect for everyone—from mild spice lovers to heat daredevils. I tried Level 30 (definitely not for the faint of heart!) and had to tap out after a few bites, but their lassi was a lifesaver. My partner finished Level 30 like a champ, though not without breaking a sweat!
I ended up switching to Level 5 and absolutely loved it—so flavorful and balanced. The curry soup is rich, comforting, and packed with delicious ingredients. They also have $1 chicken wings during happy hour, which are a great addition to the meal.
The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy, perfect for a fun date night or a casual hangout. Highly recommend for anyone looking to try something unique and exciting!“

“Haven't been to Yuu for a while and we went back last week. Price didn't go up much despite the inflation. Kids order some special drink and the staff even gave them a small ice-cream cone to top it off. Great gesture. Would definitely be going back more often.“

“We came to celebrate the birthday of a close friend. It gave us a good reason to go all-in. We ordered so much that we could hardly walk after the meal.
I like all of their food. The sashimi, in particular, was very fresh and came in a great variety. The baby aji, the hamachi and the toro were the best among all. The skewers were pretty good too. My favorite was the chicken skin. The udon with pollock roe was ordered by a friend who couldn't be happy without carbs. It turned out that everyone of us loved the udon.
Service was ok in general. The reason for me giving only 3 stars is that the grilled chicken wings we ordered came like soy sauce chicken wings. The server didn't come forward to explain until we questioned about it. Then he said the kitchen ran out of the kind of wings for grilling so they gave us something else instead. Aren't they supposed to consult us before they did that? We expressed our disappointment but he just said "sorry about that". Well... 3 stars it is then.“

“I ordered the truffle cream fettuccine and it was great, even though it was a take out the pasta wasn’t dry out and the truffle flavour was there with two pcs of shaved truffle on top 😋😋 so yummy and probably tastes even better at the restaurant!! Will def dine in next time!! Thanks again Kohei!!“

“This was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. We were a group of 5 and were able to snag a seating at this lovely little gem. I adore japanese food and have eaten kaiseki in Kyoto before. This is authentically made, fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. The flow of the menu was thoughtful. Everything was fresh, seasonal and homemade. Favorite dishes were the five types of sashimi (freshly flown in from Japan with delicious yuzu and soy dipping sauces, fresh wasabi - scallop was SO sweet and fresh), the fried dish (melt in your mouth lightly battered oyster), soup and the rice dish. We appreciated all of the extra little touches that Christine and Chef Ray put into the meal (for instance they made a cute little handmade card for my friend's 40th birthday). Sake paired delightfully. If you are looking for a special meal in an intimate dining setting, look no further! Come here and experience if for yourselves! We will be back. Thank you Kuroki Kaiseki Omakase Kitchen!“

“Had lunch omakase yesterday, and the ingredients were incredibly fresh. The chef and staff were very friendly and talkative! I was delighted to try a new sake. I can confidently say this is the highest quality omakase I’ve had in Vancouver—better than the two Michelin-starred Japanese restaurants I’ve tried before. The only thing I think could be improved is that the flavors were a bit on the salty side. If they were a touch milder, it would better highlight the freshness of the ingredients. We also celebrated our anniversary here, and the staff were kind enough to take a photo for us.“

“The Chicken Katsu is pretty good, the chicken is made to order and comes out crispy and has good flavor. The curry portion is a little bit on the small side and maybe a spoonful short for the meal. Overall I would recommend Katte when eating at Lansdowne, I definitely will add it to the rotation of places I eat at when there“

“Really enjoyed lunch with the curry tendon on rice. Staff was friendly and had a very nice atmosphere. Pleasant Japanese music was playing in the background. Each table had a small traditional dish of pickled daikon. Yummy. Street side parking just outside“

“The place is neat and tidy.
Staff are friendly.
I love the Udon. The taste was good.
Kid's menu portion was generous when compared to my udon. 😆
The salmon sushi was great, too!
This is a Janpanese restaurant runned by, I believe, Korean.“

“Very unique Japanese restaurant. Japanese decoration inside. Most foods are set combination. We just visit and try this restaurant. Salmon sashimi is fresh, but portions is not big like normal restaurant we ordered. Personally think this restaurant is more suitable for fast order and quick eater.“

“Went there for the first time recently and this will easily be of my favorite spots for Japanese food whenever I’m in Richmond. The food and service are top notch. We had the assorted sashimi platter and dynamite roll. I’m personally not a fan of soft shelled crab, but my other dining companions raved about it. The ambiance also gives a nice slightly upscale vibe. Great place for a date night! The location is convenient and parking is plentiful and free with registration so make sure you do that.“

“I came back after five years and I was worried that it would not be as good as before after reading the reviews.
The picture is my actual photo of the sashimi. It’s very fresh. The sushi roll is also very good. The wait will take a little longer. I think it’s worth it. Two small appetizers, two rolls and a super large portion of sashimi. My mother and I couldn’t finish it. It’s enough for three people. Tip added. Up to 104 Canadian dollars“

“I recently dined at Sushi Mura and had a delightful experience. I started with the Potato Croquette, which was perfectly crispy and flavorful. For my main dish, I ordered the Tofu Teriyaki, which came with a generous serving of bean sprouts, broccoli, and carrots, along with a side of rice. While the tofu and vegetables were delicious, I noted that the sauce wasn’t vegetarian, so it’s worth checking with the staff if that’s a concern.
I also tried the Sweet Potato Tempura Roll, and it was a standout! The roll was beautifully presented and had a wonderful balance of flavors. Overall, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was attentive. I would definitely recommend Sushi Mura for anyone looking for tasty Japanese cuisine!“

“This place is very good. 100% recommend. They have tea for free (obviously), but for like $7 for chicken noodles and yummy, I would say this place is very good and they have a lot of accuracy. For $40 for 4 people? That is great!
Parking: There are parking spots near, on the street, and a parking lot nearby
Kid-friendliness: They are friendly to kids.“

“Tsujiri at OpenRoad Toyota Richmond is a unique and authentic Japanese café experience. The matcha, green tea, and soba were all excellent, giving a real taste of Japan. While enjoying your food, you can look around at the Toyota cars, which adds a unique touch to the setting. It feels like the café is tailor-made for the Japanese management, and we’re lucky to enjoy it with them. Big praise to the management for creating such an authentic Japanese atmosphere. The Japanese staff is super friendly and welcoming!“

“4.5/5. Highlights: aburi sushi set decently priced and tasty. Aburi Salmon Oshi: great! House sake: cheap, mild. Negi Otoro Temaki: on the disappointing side. It takes sometime to make the fried stuff despite few patrons in the restaurant, but it is piping hot. Assorted tempura review: very average, avoid. Overall on the pricy spectrum, good presentation, certain things they do well.“

“Amazing little hole in the wall that should be on "You Gotta Eat Here" or Triple Ds. Freaking AWESOME food! I went with my husband, son, and his buddy. We all loved every bite. I am a chef and find it difficult to enjoy meals in many restaurants but this one-man show is the real deal. It's hard work. If you are looking for a romantic posh quaint cafe where you will be gushed over by the staff, this isn't the place for you. If you want genuine home made excellent fresh food that you will never forget than give it a shot. Be prepared to wait. The gentleman who owns it also is the chef, host, server, and cashier. A genuine character. Every meal is made to order and well worth the wait. Not recommended for vegan.“

“Service was prompt and friendly 🙏🏻
Ramen 👌🏻
- Chewy noodles, if that's your preference
- Rich and perfectly salted broth, so you can slurp the bowl clean
- Luscious chashu (braised pork belly)
Yakitori (skewers) were hit/miss. Ordered the omakase set - most were tender and well seasoned, while a couple were over-charred and bland.
Recommend:
- kokuton shoyu ramen
- shio ramen“

“Phenomenal food. Ordered the soba noodles soup, spicy salmon rolls, and some various tempura. Food all tasted very fresh. However, it is on the pricier end and the portions could be a little larger.
The service is great too! They check in on you just enough to make sure you are good but not so much as they do in most typical restaurants. Excellent ambience and experience overall.“

“Great coffee stop and baked goods! Loved their strawberry matcha latte and coffee misto.
Would like to come back and try what they offer in terms of food options. But I did see that if you are stopping for food it's a minimum of spend $16 per person.“
