Favorite traditional sushi place in Richmond and value for dollar showcases it sheds the fancy nameplate for a very subdued and quality driven experience. The assorted sushi set at $38 (2024) showcases local and Japanese imported fish, fresh and well portioned for each piece to be eaten in one bite, non lock-jawing bite.The saba battera is a little different than other restaurants since it showcases much more redness and has a lot more fish flavor. Quite good, but portions on the small side for the price. I believe it’s owned by a couple, with the husband as the chef and the wife waitressing. Since it’s only run by the two of them, it can be a bit difficult to flag the waitress down.

I had the privilege and delight of observing the Chef craft my meal with absolute precision and care. And then I experienced sashimi and nigiri like never before! AMAZING!!!! The Flavor! The presentation! The Service!
