Very cute Japanese mom and pop store, it was quiet in the store when me and a friend went in, we honestly probably made too much noise.
Would definitely recommend and am excited to go again to get the Kaiseki set.
Took a star off service because it was only a little off putting, probably more of a personal thing though, otherwise the two running the shop were quite nice

Simply the best traditional Japanese restaurant in Vancouver . The owners have high standards for its cuisine, polite and friendly. Service is impeccable.
Have been here a couple of times before and it’s always top notch! Tonight we hade the Omakase for three. It was superb! Each course was delicious and thoughtful. So much wonderful food! Definitely recommend! We will most certainly do this again!

The restaurant is not particularly kid-friendly, but appreciated for its peaceful atmosphere. Nakamura is a quiet marvel, with food on par with any of Vancouver's finest Japanese restaurants. Its unassuming character is belied by the kindest and most attentive service, and the most delicate and freshest flavors. The offerings are both familiar and unexpected, with the BBQ eel as good as anywhere in the world and the sashimi expertly prepared. Though not cheap, Nakamura is authentically Japanese, a hidden gem worth experiencing.
