“This is a very small noodle house in New Westminster by the train station and above Safeway. The eatery is tiny but it has a cozy atmosphere. It looks like a family run business. What's great and unique about this noodle house is that they make the noodles by hand everytime you order.

We had two noodle dishes and we liked them both. The portion were very generous and the price reasonable. For two noodle dishes, and an order of green onions cakes it came to $47.71 and we brought home lots of food for many days.

We will return and try other dishes like soup as other patrons had and they looked good. Recommended!“

“Great food and a nice experience overall. The noodles were fresh, flavourful, and the portion size was pretty generous. Service was quick and the staff were friendly. I ordered medium spice and it was definetly hotter than I expected, but still really enjoyable. I’ll be back to try another dish!“

“There’s a reason Haidilao has become so successful around the world. Even after establishing itself as a leader in the hot pot industry, they never seem to stop innovating. Every time I visit, there’s something new.

But what truly sets Haidilao apart from everyone else is the level of service. And it’s not something that can simply be described as “professional” or “friendly.” There’s a unique culture here that makes you feel like you’re coming home when you walk through the door — happy, relaxed, and genuinely cared for. Many restaurants can provide high-quality, professional service. But that feeling of being completely embraced by a warm, joyful atmosphere, and being genuinely looked after, is something I’ve only experienced at Haidilao.

Over time, I’ve come to remember the names of many of the staff here. But two people I especially want to remember and thank are the managers, Kid and Vivian.

I’ve seen them handle the restaurant under intense pressure and keep everything running efficiently and smoothly. I’ve also seen how they respond when unexpected problems arise — staying calm and flexible, communicating clearly, and finding ways to resolve the situation. They have an excellent eye for detail, strong judgment, and the ability to make good decisions in challenging moments.

And a special thank-you to Kid. To us, you’ve become much more than a restaurant manager — you feel like family. We’ll keep coming back, again and again. And I genuinely recommend that everyone experience Haidilao for themselves — not only for the food, but for the unique culture and warmth that make this restaurant truly one of a kind.“

“Really excellent shop. They very clearly take pride in the food they serve and it shows. The house made noodles are fantastic, and the owner showed us how the filled dumplings were best enjoyed. Great food and an owner that really cares about the quality of her food. We will 100% be coming back when we are in Burnaby next.“

“This is one of my favorite Japanese restaurants! We get only high quality Japanese food. Only concern is finding parking around the restaurant. The udon noodles are tasty and all ingredients

“Excellent food and excellent service. I ordered the spicy traditional beef noodle soup and the pork dumplings, and both were outstanding. The beef noodle soup had an incredibly rich, spicy broth with tender chunks of beef, and the dumplings were fresh and delicious. Service was fast, friendly, and efficient, and everything came out quickly. Easily one of the best noodle spots I’ve been to in Coquitlam. I’ll definitely be back!“

“If you’re at Crystal Mall and don’t know what to eat, try this place. The fish soup base is amazing, the fish is super fresh, and the price is great. definitely worth it.

“Edit: 6 years ago their bun bo hue was one of the best in the city. I just tried it again and now it is just average. All the chopped spices are gone and the broth taste bland. I have to change my rating from 5/5 to 3.5/5

I love their bun bo hue. It's the best bun bo hue I've had in Vancouver. The broth is full of finely chopped herbs and spices floating on top that I don't see in most other Vietnamese restaurants. Their pho with lemongrass grilled chicken is delicious as well. Their grilled beef skewer is amazing and I love that you can order a single skewer as a side instead of a full dish. Lastly, this is kind of a silly thing to say but they make beautiful and perfect sunny side up eggs.“

“We’ve been here for dim sum a handful of times, and the food is consistently great. Service has always been good as well.

Unfortunately, during our most recent visit, we ordered the hot and sour seafood soup and found a very long black hair in it (and we are all blonde). We let our server know right away, and they were very apologetic and removed the dish from our bill.

That said, we were a bit surprised that nothing further was offered—no small discount or even a dessert on the house. While we appreciated the apology, it felt like a missed opportunity to go a step further in making things right.

A bit disappointing, especially when the “extra ingredient” definitely wasn’t something we ordered.“

“This is our go-to restaurant whenever we don’t know where to go, we know the food here will always satisfy our cravings! I highly recommend the clay pot rice, it’s a must have! The rice is crispy on the outside and so flavourful with their customized sauce and meats! Just make sure to order it right away since it takes about 30 minutes to make.“

The prices here are very decent and the front counter team is very friendly. They usually have a decent sized line of people - so be prepared to wait a little bit.

It’s good to satisfy a morning noodle craving.“

“First time here and so I tried out their pick 3 items for $22 menu. It was worth it, I got full after eating 70%. The bento box is a bit pricey for $24 compared to other good japanese restaurants. Overall good quality, good service and clean restaurant 👌.“

“Surprised to see a big and comfy restaurant tucked away in this area. They serve the noodles, soup, and toppings all separately, giving you plenty of options to customize your dish. Their bubble tea is also quite nice, so I highly recommend giving their noodles a try :)“

“Very interesting authentic Korean dishes!“

“We usually order the Korean army stew, and my partner gets the spicy kimbap. We also like to add a side of cup-bokki.

One time, the cup-bokki wasn’t as spicy or flavorful as usual. It seemed like it had been served before it was fully cooked, so the sauce was still watery and hadn’t simmered down enough. We didn’t want to cause any trouble, but we quietly let the staff know. They took it back and cooked it again, but unfortunately, it was still a bit watery. They then offered us a refund, but we told them it was okay because mistakes happen, and we understand that tteokbokki needs time to cook down properly.

When we went back today, the quality of the tteokbokki was much better. It was flavorful, properly cooked, and really tasty. The staff have always been very kind as well, which we appreciate.“

“I've been coming to Full Ramen since it opened, and I go several times a month. It is the best ramen place in Surrey, hands down, and I always bring friends and family there. It's always worth it to go in, though I have it delivered from time to time as well. My favourite is the classic Tonkatsu ramen and I get it without the wakame because of my personal taste, but if you're a fan of it then keep it in. Lovely staff, she knows me and knows my order by heart which I appreciate.“

“Authentic Chinese cuisine ran by very kind owners. Whether it is to dine in or takeout, you can never go wrong with this restaurant. The fried rice, honey garlic ribs, and sweet and sour pork are some of their dishes I enjoy most. The vibe inside the restaurant feels very Chinese as well. Though the restaurant is cramped and may be overwhelming sometimes, the food is cooked to near perfection and the restaurant is simply a happy place to be in.“

“Congee Noodle King is a classic spot back in the day when you wanted some good “sui yeh”. Since COVID, the closing hours have been reduced but you can still have a decent bite to eat!
If you’re in the mood for delicious congee (which they have the craziest variety of) and satisfying noodle dishes like the swirly egg shrimp noodle, this is the place! They’ve done some recent renovations to the place and added more tables. Previously, it was a bit dated and I’m glad they added some more spots as the restaurant tends to be a bit overpacked.
It’s a place where you can expect generous portions, reasonable prices, and consistent wok hei flavoured dishes. Beyond congee and noodles, the menu also includes a wide range of Cantonese-style dishes such as stir-fried vegetables, fried rice, seafood and a variety of the classic sweet and sour pork/chicken, fried proteins and soups. My go-to dishes are:
Swirly egg shrimp noodle
Salty fish and chicken fried rice
Sweet and sour pork chops
Seafood Chow Mein (crispy)
Beef Tendon and Beef Brisket with Noodle

The service can be hit or miss, sometimes they are so busy you may not get a tea refill or get your order in. A majority of reviews I find always complain about the “service” or servers being rude, but that’s just how they come off to be. They are trying their best and English is not their first language, so please be patient and nice to the staff!“

“Always an incredible experience here! They are amazingly accommodating to new parents, which makes dining out so much easier. Since it’s an intimate space, I’d recommend coming either before the dinner rush or after 7:00 PM to avoid waiting for a table. Outstanding ramen every time!“

“My son and I (and sometimes my wife when she isn’t busy) have been coming to this place once or twice a week for about a year and a half and are thus regulars. We enjoy their flavourful lemon grass chicken which is absolutely amazing high quality protein that as people who are active really helps in muscle recovery and feeling satiated. “We spent a splendid getaway in the Murray Hotel last weekend. Candy and Marianne took care of everybody in the bar with care and smile during the busy late afternoon. “Came here because I like the Victoria Dr location. It's similar but sooooo much more salty. Also the fish cakes got smaller and less generous. Still tasty though. It's a small place so prepare to wait.

Update: came back a year later and asked for less salty. Was so thirsty after I had to chug water. Why so much sodium?????“
