Shak makes great dalpurie roti. I've had curry chicken, shrimp, beef and goat. They're all good but shrimp is my favourite. Doubles are also authentic and excellent but get them hot and fresh. Place is take-out only.

The place to get doubles. If you don't know what they are try one.

They closed before 18:00 today. The least they could do is update the service times on Google Maps. What a waste of my time. I was so excited to try something new.

Truly authentic Trinidadian food, definitely a bit pricey, but you pay for authenticity and nothing today is cheap anymore. I’ve never had a spot be this authentic for trini food before, it’s like my grandpa is cooking for me again, come here as a treat every once in awhile!

Disappointing to say the least. Not only did this place ignore a request to package something separately due to an allergy, but the amount of Oxtail they provided for 25$ was laughable. It’s obvious they have a butcher cut the tail meat cut into TEENY TINY portions for highest profit (typically oxtail is cut at the JOINT and
Comes in approximately 2-4 inch pieces, theirs were barely an inch and the pieces were sawed through each tail piece!!!) -The gravy was watery and extremely heavy on the allspice.- We only ordered because our go-to place Baby Dhal was out of oxtail. - We will never order from D Roti Shak again! (Tried to leave a review on Door Dash but oddly it doesn’t show- )-Tried to contact the store to discuss the allergy issue and was hung up on! Really unprofessional and Such a waste of money!

Honestly think fast food burritos. It's Dahl poor with curry that's a Caribbean style. The chicken curry with potatoes is my favorite. For non gluten they have them in rice bowls. It's not hot and doesn't have ginger in it so won't offend sensitive palettes.

It's 20$ but the amount of food you get is enough for me to have e it for lunch and dinner for 2 DAYS.

If you've never tried this, do it and you won't be disappointed. I drive almost an hour to come get food from here.

They close early so get it on your way home before 5pm

My God the chicken curry Roti here absolutely hands down is the best one I've ever had, and that's saying a lot cuz I lived in Toronto many years. The only place I could ever imagine getting one better would be Jamaica itself. Also was given an amazing recipe for jerk turkey and I'm trying it out this Christmas with everything I needed in this cute little shop! If you haven't been here GOOOOOO

Food is pretty good here and is like back in Trinidad 🇹🇹. Nice how there is also products you can buy. Prices are a bit expensive but I guess everything is going up these days. Prices are higher now than the pics I took earlier. Service could be better. The owner could remember we are in Canada and not all customers like the blunt talk Caribbean people might be used to.

Vegetarian options: Chana and aloo, aloo pie, and doubles!!!!

Parking: Paid street parking but pay! Because there are people checking the meters. If you walk up a block you can get parking on a side street.

Kid-friendliness: Kids welcome

For quick and consistent Trinidadian doubles , this is the place. I’m usually satiated after one ?The take debit now as well which means I don’t have to remember to have cash on hand!

They do not supply forks or plates. We where on our way somewhere and thought we would stop by and try. The food was fantastic but it's obviously very messy. I would have paid a bit more even for a plate and utensils. Other then that very delicious.
