I live within walking distance but have only been to this 'restaurant' about 4 or 5 times since 2019. The cafeteria is in the basement of city hall. City hall is NOT in a shopping area so it's not a destination generally.

The food is easily the lowest priced in the area, if not the lower mainland!

It's not haute cuisine but regular North American fare, eg, eggs, omelettes, English muffins, soups, sandwiches, etc.
As a coffee lover, I didn't like my coffee, though.
Service was very friendly and I wanted to leave the lady a little something but they said they couldn't accept gratuities.

A hidden gem for cheap eats in New West! Would be great if the City advertised the location so that more people are aware of it.

I ate here 2 weeks ago and had the best southwest chicken panini. I returned yesterday with a friend and ordered the same, they were 2 totally different sandwiches. when asked if everything was okay, I stated it was good but it was not the same. the chicken the firat visit was amazing and was enough to fill the bread, yesterday there were 2 extremely small chicken tenders on the entire sandwich. essentially the 2 half pieces per side did not cover half the sandwich. the waitress was not very receptive and continue stating that's how the club comes. I politely said that it not how it came last time and I wasn't looking to save money or get it for free, I was just wondering if they were waiting on an order or had a different cook. her response was that obviously whoever made it the previous visit had done it incorrectly as this is how the club is always done. I again said it was good and wasn't looking for a deal just wondering for consistency sake because the previous one was amazing. she reiterated that this one was the way it was which had half the sandwich bare with no chicken and left the table. she never did return even though she attended the table across from me 3 times. eventually I had to take my half sandwich to the counter to ask for the bill and a container as it was clear she was not happy.

Cheapest breakfast in town in a simple cafeteria style. Beware... the coffee/tea is $2.50 for a small ending machine style cup (almost 1/2 the cost of the breakfast!).$1.00 off if you bring your own cup. I guess that's why the regulars bring their own coffee , which no one seems to mind.

New Westminster City Hall cafeteria in the basement is open to the public and the prices are amazing. They're open Monday to Friday until 13:30, breakfast is served until 11, food is delicious, staff are very friendly, place is clean. Two of us had a lunch for $10.85, tax included! Incredible! Wish I knew about this place earlier. Went 2nd time for breakfast - $4.20 for 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon, hashbrowns and 2 toasts!
