Sushi Hinode, a popular spot from Port Langley, has now reopened in New Westminster!! I’ve been a big fan since the Port Langley days. The new place is super clean and cozy, and it’s so convenient that you can walk straight in from the parking lot. The lunch box and avocado salad were SO good as always 👍 everything was fresh and delicious. Such an amazing spot!!! I’m definitely coming back!!

Service was basically nonexistent, even though the place wasn’t busy. No one checked on us. We had to place our order after a long wait, and there were no follow-ups. We had to flag someone down just to get water, which didn’t arrive until the third time we asked. Not a good experience, which is a shame because the location is convenient, the food is consistent, and the place is clean. This was our third visit, and it will be our last.

great sushi, prices and the fastest service i’ve ever experienced! servers are all so nice and tentative as well.
The portion size was very small- I'd say like 30-40% smaller than a competitor such as samurai sushi house or tokyo joe's based on similarily priced items. I paid $30 for a sushi combo and a goma ae and I could eat twice this amount of food before being full. The rice in the nigiri sushi is like the thickness of a child's pinky. I would understand if this was a high-end sushi restaurant, but the quality of the food is only average.

They put spicy mayo on top of the dynamite roll which I was not expecting. The tamago nigiri was sweet like sugar which was not pleasant, and it was torched as well, also weird. I also had to ask for a menu after being seated. Would not go back.

My friend and I decided to try this place out, before heading out to the landmark cinema. We were pleased with the ample amount of free parking they have when we arrived. So far, it's a great start. Downtown new west is practically all paid parking.
Upon entering, their front has a unusual amount of open space. The next thing I noticed before proceeding was how clean their bathroom was. We were greeted kindly and we proceeded to our table. The interior and ambiance is good. Our services were good and we had check ups. Was there anything memorable? Not really but the rolls were good, and I still had a decent dinner with my friend. Unfortunately the tables were wobbly along with the chairs. It felt like we were in the circus balancing our food and drinks from spilling 🤣.
I would come back and try other items. Great movie night spot to dine for sure 👍
