I only gave 2 stars on overall but 5 stars for food, service and atmosphere because they are indeed good. Especially the suckling pig is pretty yummy. However, one big turn down is the time it took for them to serve us all the dishes. The dinner took over 3 hours and most of the time is waiting for the next dish to come.

After walking past the broken irrigation system and entering inside. You will be greeted and directed to a waiting area which is a bit uncomfortable seating looks nice but very rigid, you will be forced into a proper posture.

The food is very quick and fresh to arrive almost as if the chef is at the table with you.

Wait staff very quick to make sure your table stays clean, had to ask they stop changing my plate so often, kind of funny but a but distracting when you are chatting with your group. I did very much appreciate the humor they had when coming around very welcoming with the humor of an uncle or a sibling, a gentle tease or offering to do somthing ridiculous like well if you dont like the filling in the sesame bun I can remove it for you no charge and give you back the bun with no filling.

Not as good as it used to be, the quality and taste used to be on the top tier, not so much now. Some of the dishes you can tell the chef is not quite working with their heart or talent. And the portions seems to be getting less and less.

No acknowledgment, no eye contact, no smile at the reception counter. I wonder the lady staff had been able to see me standing right in front of her at the counter?

It used to be good. The dim sum that day was not good at all. The har gaw got water on the bottom of the wrapping. The spring roll wasn't fully fried ,part of it was still soggy. And because they don't take down what the customer order on paper, the waiter constantly gave us the wrong dim sum. And when the bill came, the name of the each dim sum wasn't on the bill, it was generalized and group together with dim sum that have the same price. So there is no way u can tell if they charged the right price. That is very sneaky.

Better than Sun Sui Wah and Redstar Richmond, cleaner, no lineups but still suggest making a reservation.

The restaurant has run down so much lately. The service was terrible and food quality has dropped so much.
We went there for lunch last week, knowing that the place could be busy, so we made a booking for 10 persons for 1pm. But we had to wait until 1.45pn to be seat. That was a big embarrassment to our guests invited because they came even 10 minutes before. That is one hour wait with reservation. But not a word of apology. Then we sat down, no one came to serve, we had to yell for service.
Then the food came, quality had dropped so much , and during the whole meal time , no server came to serve, we were totally ignored. This restaurant used to be known as place with good food and good service. But we regret to say that it has become a one star sloppy Chinese restaurant.

I will rank it 4.8 star if not for the rude attitude of one of the manger C.today. We started at 10:30am and I got the message to leave if possible after 2 hours for their second round customers. We paid the bill and were prepared to have a final cup of tea before leaving. It was 12:20pm? Manager C came to our table and said without expression in an impolite manner:”There are lots of people waiting…’ looks like he didn’t want to refill the tea pot; I told him politely that I just need half pot filled and will leave in 5 min.! He left with the teapot with a long face and did not respond to my me.
The food was good and the service was as good as usual but this manager C ‘s bad attitude ruined the reputation of Kirin Starlight, and the hard hardworking staff’s good performance!! Should we dine there again?

Still as good as I remembered!

Called ahead for a reservation and had no issues—seated right away when we arrived early Sunday morning.

The staff were friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Every dim sum dish we ordered was delicious and came in generous portions. Service was efficient, and the food arrived promptly.

It’s been years since our last visit, but the quality remains just as excellent. Highly recommend for a satisfying dim sum brunch.
