It's a real shame that the offshore company that owns the market won't bother to maintain the gardens along the boardwalk. This is supposed to be a jewel of our city, and yet the exterior portions of the market are completely neglected and in disrepair.

Highly recommended to visit this emblematic place in the heart of new Westminster, First a picture of the sunset, if you want a beer and brunch outside is ITALIA kitchen and bar, enter the market and do not pass by without having a Late and enjoy a spinach bread from PAMOLA BAKERY, a detail or a good book from KINDER BOOKS PORT and the icing on the cake Fresh fruits and all kinds of vegetables, the Asian market itself CITY AVENUE MARKET. Easy parking. Recommended for young and old. Family plan !!!!

Nice water front area hosting a variety of eatries, grocery shop, kids entertainment, book shop etc. Overall a nice place to spend time with a walk in the picturesque riverside trail.
Presently construction work is underway which restricts the movement slightly.
Visit here with family and friends to have a good time.

Craft markets twice a month and the best eateries around. There is an authentic Mexican bakery and a variety of restaurants. Beautiful setting on the boardwalk. You will love it !

This is a good area for a cup of coffee, support some local business, grocery shopping and a little walk in the boardwalk along the Fraser River. There are many good restaurants in this area. I am sure you will find one that you like. Such as Craft Cafe, Angelina's Dutch Corner, The Boathouse, Re Up BBQ Bar, Longtail Kitchen and the food court. Almost all the restaurants have nice river view. The only down side is you have to pay parking for your stay. It costs about $3.58 per hour. There are lots of underground parking and close to the Market and restaurants. You can use public transit getting there. It takes a few minutes walk from the New Westminster Station. It was free parking long time ago. There are lots of high rises in the area now but it will not block the view from the Market.

There's a strong gas smell emanating throughout the liquor store. Staff is concerned about their health and I am too. The owners of River Market should come down and check it out before brushing it off as normal. It's definitely not safe for the staff or us customers.
