The Sapperton Taphouse is hands down the best place in New Westminster to catch a game! We went for the Whitecaps MLS final, and it was an absolute blast! Great New West fans, lively atmosphere, and that true sports bar vibe.
We had a pitcher of Sleeman’s Brown Ale and the Creole prawns were incredible, perfect for dipping the bread into that buttery, garlicky southern-style sauce. The wings were on point too, and the cold beer didn’t hurt!
They’ve got a really good tap selection that’s always rotating with different local beers, which is awesome because there’s always something new to try. You can really tell the owners put energy into offering variety and quality choices. They should continue to support local!
They also do fun giveaways like free baskets and prizes that make game nights even better. It’s great to see how far the place has come since the old Fireside Pub days (yep, back when the floors were sticky!). Now it’s a clean, welcoming spot that still feels like your favorite neighborhood hangout. Also I noticed a party room in the back, enclosed with glass, you should be able to host some good functions and corporate events there for sure. The Sapperton Taphouse truly nails that classic sports bar experience.

Food was good and is reasonably priced. Good bevy menu. Service was really poor as our waitress ignored our table for most of the time so we couldn't order a second beer and we waited for 45 minutes to get our bill. She would not even look our way so we could grab her attention so we eventually had to go to the bar to ask for service to pay and leave.

This place was a huge disappointment, and I definitely won’t be coming back. The food was just okay at best, but the service was terrible. Our server, Jaden, spent most of the time behind the bar singing instead of actually serving customers. Honestly, if I were AGLC, I wouldn’t allow that kind of behavior in a licensed establishment. It felt completely unprofessional and created a vibe I have zero interest in being around. Safe to say this was my first and last visit — when I go out, I expect service. If I wanted go-go dancing and a show, I would’ve bought tickets somewhere else

Charged $16 for wings then when the bill came there was an extra $1.50 charge for dip. Who charges for dip with wings. They come with dip and carrots and celery included. But not here. No veg and an extra charge for dip. Without being told after asked what kind you want with your wings. Weak.
