We had breakfast here today and had Kevin as our server and he was so fantastic! Will definitely go back just to be served by him! Thank you!
Unfortunately my husband and I have never had great experiences even though the atmosphere is quite nice. The food hasn't been good in years and this last visit is another example. Our server didn't seem to have much experience and we waited quite a while to even get drinks. It's a server's job to make sure the food is correct before bringing it to a table, I asked for a gluten-free bun and shortly after I received my meal, it was quickly taken away as the server realized it wasn't a gluten-free bun which by the way took forever to get in the first place. The replacement took even longer and the manager came out with an apology which I appreciated. When I informed her we would not be paying for the meal as my husband had finished his by that time, I was met with attitude. They are quite pricey for the quality of food they serve, unfortunately I can't recommend this restaurant it's great for a few drinks at happy hour and bar type food but that's about it. Unfortunately like most restaurants these days, servers expect tips for barely doing their job and serving sub par food
Nice ambience, nice food, nice service. The Creek side view is beautiful. You can spend hours sitting besides. Nothing to complain.
The grilled salmon was absolutely delicious with the crispy exterior, soft centre, and it was perfectly seasoned. The bruschetta was underwhelming with flavourless cream cheese and a DIY presentation, which I didn't care for.
I visited The Boathouse in New Westminster with my wife on June 14th to celebrate her birthday. We went for lunch and ordered two oysters each, the shrimp salad, and shrimp with mussels. While the food tasted great at the time, unfortunately, our experience quickly took a turn for the worse.
Later that evening, both my wife and I began feeling extremely ill. I experienced severe stomach pain, vomiting throughout the night. She had diarrhea. Concerned about the possibility of a food safety issue, I contacted the restaurant the next day and spoke with the manager, Larry. He assured me that someone would follow up with me in the coming days.
It’s now been weeks, and I have yet to receive any follow-up call. I’m very disappointed—not only because of the food-related illness, but also because of the complete lack of customer service and accountability afterward.
Sadly, this experience has left us with no intention of returning to this place again
Excellent service! Food was fantastic. The restaurant was clean carpets chairs, restrooms and windows! Brunch was hot , beautifully presented and service was outstanding
The restaurant was really pretty! The food was good, but yeah, breakfast was a bit pricey for what it was. Still, the view from there was amazing, totally worth it for the location alone. I'd go back, maybe for something a little less...breakfast-y, haha.
Service was slow and forgetful. Also waited 5 plus minutes for meal when everyone already received there's
We went for Father's Day dinner which was a set menu. $69 for a soup or salad, main course, and a dessert. This was grossly over priced for the quality of food we received. After waiting an hour after ordering we finally got our soup/salad and our mains came out 2 minutes later so our table was cramped and our mains got cold while we were eating our soup/salad. Two of our mains were wrong and either under or over cooked, and the other two mains were fine, not worth the $69 the meal cost. The plate presentation was pathetic for a "fine dining seafood restaurant" and every bite of seafood in the pasta dishes were either overcooked or under seasoned. We will not be returning and would love for this location to turn into a much better restaurant.
Unfortunately our experience was not the greatest. It was Father's Day and the father of our group didn't even eat well his main course was supposed to be a seafood carbonara but it was far from that there was no egg used. The dish was sent back and taken off the bill, it was a dissappointing experience. The service was very slow the poor waitress kept apologizing, lovely lady. Not sure we will return for a very long time.

The food was great but the service was not. We had reservations to celebrate Fathers day...our dinner took a total of 2.5 hours. We understand that it was a very busy day but that is an unreasonable amount of time for a dinner, we spent way too long waiting for our food. Our server was also extremely busy and did not offer to refill our drinks or take our dirty plates away. He was nice but I can tell was over worked, he did not check-in with us at all. We have come to this boathouse location quite a few times but we were quite disappointed yesterday.
Almost 3 hours with waiting and delays on food. Almost 20 mins before we were even acknowledged
Came in on Father's Day and despite there only being two seated tables, service was terrible throughout. Hostess or server didn't say Happy Father's Day despite it being my husband, toddler and I. Server came by about 7 minutes later (again, there were only two other seated tables), took our drink order and then came back with them and to take our order about 15 minutes later. We ordered one mimosa and a latte so unsure of what caused the delay. No sugar offered so I had to ask the other table for one. Ordered off their Father's Day set menu and food was terrible! Server also didn't bring out the fruit and pastries and when asked about it, his response was that I didn't order it. I pointed out that it was included in the menu and he responded with ‘oh, one brought it out to you?' Guy clearly hates his job which is fine because he's terrible at it. The best interaction we had from staff was when the chef came out and asked how I wanted my eggs cooked. Thankful we didn't come here for lunch or dinner and definitely will not be coming back. If you're in the area, I suggest going to the coffee shop next door which had a consistent line out the door and just as nice of a patio.
I let our server know my dad had recently passed away and wanted him to leave the extra table setting; the Boathouse was one of his favorite restaurants to go to. Our server asked what my dad drank and he delivered a virgin chichi for him. This wad so thoughtful and kind. It really was a lovely added touch along with us enjoying the food my dad loved so much.
My son and I went to the New West Boathouse to celebrate my birthday as we have always enjoyed it there. Unfortunately, the service was awful. Our server, albeit very kind, kept forgetting everything we ordered. We asked for bread. It never came. We ordered calamari. It never came. I ordered a glass of wine. It never came. Our dinner did eventually come. Customarily, since I have been to the Boathouse on my birthday before, we would get treated to a dessert, but that never happened. It was truly disappointing. The food was delicious, so kudos to the kitchen, but, sadly, the service was awful. I should have spoken to a manager, but didn't. I felt bad as our server was very apologetic. But, in hindsight, I truly feel there needs to be more training at this location because even the bus boy was unpleasant. He tried to clear a table away across from us when the women had just stepped aside to take a picture. When he brought us our meals, he was rude and miserable. Certainly does not like his job and should not be interfacing with customers. Very unfortunate overall.
