My lovely wife and children celebrated her birthday at the Deep Cove Chalet. The dinner began well enough with a fireplace seating, somewhat attentive service but then disintegrated when the hostess took it upon herself to lecture and us that our children’s giggling had revived two complaints and we were to control their noise levels. Openly and loudly chastising customers is unacceptable and it ruined the celebration. She embarrassed and stole the occasion. The meal was mediocre and the room extremely tired. We were the only Indigenous or persons of colour in the room under the age of 65 and it felt racist. I would never return, never recommend the restaurant and wish there was negative star rating.
