My husband and met some family here last week for dinner. We were told when we phoned earlier in the day that they do not take reservations for under six people (we had five in our party) but that coming in by 5 pm should be ok as they get busy around 6pm
We arrived at 5pm and were told there were only high top tables available which we were willing to accept. While we were waiting a larger dining table opened up and we were seated after ensuring everyone in our party was over 19. (Understandably since it’s a requirement and my husband‘s 30 year old nephew looks young!) We were thankful for the table and went about visiting and looking at the menu.
When the server came by to take our drink orders my husband‘s nephew ordered ‘a Corona with no lime’. When our drinks were brought out his beer had a lime in the top. He is a very polite young man and mentioned to the server that he had asked for no lime. She replied that ‘the bartender just puts one in’. He did not push this further and removed the lime and reluctantly drank the beer.
Our food was satisfactory and the rest of the experience felt ‘off’. My husband and I were not offered refills on our pops and I felt we were not welcome to stay and visit after we finished our meals. The server came by and picked some things off the table which we took as a signal to get going.
The experience wasn’t horrible but the service felt inattentive and unfriendly. Of note, we were there for an hour and a half and the restaurant hadn’t started filling up yet. We are all considerate and would not have stayed longer and taken up a large table. I took some time to reflect before writing this post and thought that if a week later I was still thinking about it-it is worth leaving my thoughts. I didn’t feel at the time that any feedback I would give to the staff would be received well.

Three of us shared wings and nachos. The wings were just ok. The nachos were horrible. Basically dry, browned chips with barely any cheese. We finally said something and they added some cheese to it. We ended up packing up the balance and taking it with us to the ferry we were catching. Super disappointing as I’ve been before and it was good. Great cozy old pub so for atmosphere it’s good.

This place is great! The service is good, the food is even better. We come here quite a bit and the chef here is wonderful. The Mac & cheese is wonderful, so is the crab cake, the shepherds pie, the cheesy pulls? Tacos are good too. So yum! Please never change chefs!

This place is wonderful! Old English style pub in a cute building 2 min from the ferry. They have excellent specials each night, wonderful happy hour, and great selection. Some of the best chicken wings I’ve had. Definitely stop by next time on your way to or from the ferry!

We stopped in for a pint on the patio on one of the first truly warm summer days. Despite plenty of open tables, we were told we had to sit in the shade because the lower patio was “too far” for the servers to walk.
When we politely asked if we could settle up and move to a sunny spot, we were yelled at—twice—by the barmaid in front of a full bar. Other guests actually smirked because it was so unnecessarily embarrassing to watch.
The whole interaction felt more like being scolded in elementary school than being served in a hospitality setting. Sadly, the new management and ownership seem to be continuing the long, complicated pattern of disappointing leadership at this establishment.
At least we go to enjoy the beautiful rhodos and the sunshine!

Really yummy vegan options! I wish they were noted on the menu, but when we asked the server, she was really helpful. Will be back again but would love to see veganizable items marked or a separate vegan section!
