Reviews of Golden Pearl seem to be love it or hate it variety. After two recent lunchtime visits count me in the love it category. The food isn't great but the food comes out hot, in very generous quantities and IMO} good quality westernized Chinese food. Of note was the sweet and sour pork, which was crisp, meaty with just the right amount of sauce. The reason I gave a 4 star rating is that the cost of these lunch specials is $13! [The chow mein was soggy, and that's one thing, but it also lacked any smoky flavor and tasted bad. The sweet and sour pork… the meat and batter tasted like frozen products. Overall, the food tastes terrible, but the price is reasonable. Even the food court Manchu Wok costs more than 16 dollars before tax, but this place was only about 14 dollars or so. So considering it's price point,,, I guess this is okay restaurant?
