What an amazing experience Checkmate was…I’m still dreaming of the view! John gave us a tour and was very knowledgeable of grounds, architecture and the wine, which made the experience incredible. We will absolutely be back!

Checkmate has been a favourite winery of mine for quite some time. I finally visited from Ontario and Gail made the tasting amazing! My wife and I did a curated tasting with food pairings from Chef Joshua… fantastic and I would recommend it.

Amazing experience and best Chardonnay in the Okanagan in my opinion! John was extremely knowledgeable! I will always recommend Checkmate to friends visiting the area!

Great, short, visit as it was nearing closure time. Although they normally don't take walk-ins I was attended by a friendly lady who showed me around and did the tasting for me. The winery has great wines, and feels quite fancy/exclusive but the people who work there are very welcoming!

We recently visited CheckMate Winery in Oliver and had an exceptional experience. Our wine ambassador, Gail King, was incredibly nice, knowledgeable, and professional. She guided us through the tasting with great expertise, sharing detailed insights about each wine and the winemaking process. One of the best tasting experiences in the whole valley. Gale (Gail?) was an awesome host and really made the whole experience. No, it’s not the cheapest, but the quality is reflected in the price and it’s absolute worth it. Highly recommend!

I attended the Members Veranda Grand Opening and have been a member for three years. Every visit, whether solo or with friends and family, has been met with excellent service, exceptional wines, and a fantastic atmosphere.
