We visited the Elkhorn Lodge as a group of four and while there were some bright spots, the overall experience left a lot to be desired.

Let's start with the positives, the two female staff members were absolutely delightful. They were warm, attentive, and clearly doing their best under the circumstances. Through no fault of their own, they were visibly understaffed and stretched thin trying to manage everything on their own.

Unfortunately, the 1pm afternoon got off to a rocky start when we were made to wait an extra 30 minutes past our reservation before being seated. Once we were finally at our table, the raclette machine wasn't functioning properly, which significantly impacted the experience we came for. To make matters worse, the machine had not been cleaned after the previous guests, not a great first impression.

The food portions were genuinely disappointing for the price point. Four pieces of raclette cheese for a table of four simply wasn't enough, and the meat plate — an alternative we opted for — consisted of just four tiny pieces of meat. For what's supposed to be a hearty alpine dining experience, we left feeling underwhelmed and still hungry. The soup, while admittedly quite tasty, was a very small bowl for over $13. Beer came in at over $10 for a standard 355ml can, which felt steep.

It's clear that the two staff members were doing everything in their power to make the evening work, but they needed far more support. The owner really should consider hiring additional staff or being present themselves to troubleshoot equipment issues and assist the team. It's not fair on the employees, and it ultimately affects the guest experience.

Sadly, based on our group's visit, we won't be returning. With some operational improvements and fair pricing, this place has potential, but it is not there yet.

I would add photos but it seems I cannot.

Ray and his staff made us one of the best fondues we have ever had, and hosted a very comfortable and cozy meal in the slope side cabin. For the location and service everything was reasonably priced and made to the highest quality. We will be returning soon!

A must stop for break from skiing. Killer view, could spend whole day sitting in the window :)
Always a nice food and drink selection to warm you back up for the slopes

Best views, service and food!

Food was no where near enough for what you pay and there was no fondue or other variations of food to order. We paid $20 for raclette and got 4 small pieces of cheese with 2 other condiments with it in tiny bowls. Would not go here again.

Fun small mountain lodge. Good for raclette and a glass of wine 😉

Great lodge to stop for a drink or snacks while out skiing at Panorama. They also offer raclette cheese plates. Well worth a visit in between powder runs.

The best spot on the hill to eat or apres ski. The goulash soup was fantastic, best wine selection on a mountain hut I have ever seen. The mulled wine is a must and try the cookies. Oh yeah, one of the best views on the hill.
