Four Shadows Vineyard & Winery

What a great surprise! This small, family-run vineyard and winery truly impressed us. The tasting room is cozy yet nicely appointed, with charming views over the vineyard. We were welcomed by Lindsay — by far the most engaging person we met during visits to eight wineries over three days. Cheerful, knowledgeable, and full of great stories about the vineyard’s background, she made our experience unforgettable.

It happened to be Thanksgiving, so when Lindsay had to leave, she introduced us to Bjorn — one of the owners’ sons and one of the “Four Shadows.” The story of how this winery came to be is one of perseverance and determination; it’s the kind that makes you want to root for them (see what I did there?).

We love discovering small, family-run wineries that not only craft great wines but also share an inspiring story — something we love passing along to friends when we open a bottle. The wines were terrific, especially the intriguing Zweigelt, which left me wanting more. This is a winery that’s not afraid to take chances “just to see what happens” — and their success shows it.

Bjorn, who recently returned to the family business after studying and living on the Coast, embodies the dedication that defines this place. We highly recommend visiting this winery to experience firsthand what hard work, passion, and family determination can create. It’s truly something special!

I called and spoke with a lady to see if walk ins were welcome and if there was a dress code as I was staying the night in Penticton with my girlfriend. She hung up and when I called back it went directly to voicemail.

They have good wine choices. I really enjoyed the tasting experience. The place is also really beautiful.

Fun small winery, great staff and back story. Winston the winery dog was awesome. Came home with a Merlot which will cellar nicely.

Went to this Winery yesterday and had such a wonderful experience. Our server was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions with a smile! We ended up buying bottles to bring back home. Lovely experience and beautiful tasting patio that is dog friendly!! Extra stars :)

My husband and I had the opportunity to visit Four Shadows Winery. Pamela was very friendly and personable. She was able to share the story behind this beautiful vineyard, which was interesting to hear. The wines are superb, especially if you are a fan of Rieslings. I very much enjoyed my experience here, and hope to return next year to Four Shadows.

Just got back from completing an all
Day wine tour. We started our day at 4 Shadows. It was fabulous! From hearing the story of the winemaker that never gave up, to tasting the amazing wines, to our excellent tasting guide … it was all 5 stars! I highly recommend going to this winery! My new favourite!

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted like old friends—they actually remembered us from our visit last year, which made the experience feel so personal and special. The service here is top notch—genuinely the sweetest staff we encountered on our entire afternoon wine tour! Especially Lindsay, her presence was extra sunny!

They took the time to share the beautiful story behind the winery, which added so much meaning to each tasting. And we can’t forget the winery dog—the absolute sweetest companion, making the whole visit even more heartwarming.

The wines? Fantastic. Each one was a hit, and we left with a few bottles to take a little taste of Four Shadows home with us.

Can’t wait to come back next summer. This place truly is a gem in the Naramata Bench! 🍷🐾❤️

Hands down the best Riesling I’ve had in BC! We love the 2023 classic Riesling and purchase several bottles at a time. We had Pamela do our tasting today and she was so informative and funny! We love the story behind the winery and the family!

Really enjoyed the time in here. My favourite one was the Riesling Classic; for sure a flagship product with a unique taste.

A must visit! Had the best experience at a tasting here yesterday. The service and information about the wine was fabulous and the wine itself amazing. The Riesling Classic and Riesling Sparkling were outstanding and I ended up buying both to take home. Sitting out on the patio for the tasting was so relaxing and beautiful. Will come back when I next visit Penticton!
