Amazing dinner experience! Beautiful views and food was creative and delicious. Will be back again for sure!!
The wine tasting at Hillside was fantastic! We were hosted by Cathy who was extremely knowledgable and gave great context to the wines we were tasting. I highly recommend the terroir tasting with three different merlots, same vintage, same winemaking style, just different vineyard blocks on the estate. There aren't many places in the Okanagan where it is possible to taste a true expression of terroir! Highly impressed.
Went for both a wine Tasting and dinner at the bistro and WOW. Top notch service from both ends. Greg at the tasting room was extremely knowledgeable, funny and kind. Left with 3 bottles thanks to him! Dinner was fabulous with wonderful thoughtful dishes and great views to go along with it. It’s not summer without a trip to hillside.
Hillside Restaurant - Bistro — an evening to remember
A heartfelt thank you for a wonderful evening at Hillside. The exceptional service, cozy ambiance, and stunning view made the experience truly unforgettable.
We are deeply grateful to Rachel for her warmth, attentiveness, and professionalism — it was thanks to her that our evening turned into something truly special.
We’ll be happy to return and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who appreciates genuine care, quality, and heartfelt hospitality.
Great selection, friendly service and a lovely winery to visit.
Summers are meant for soaking in dreamy sunsets and dining al fresco! 🌅 🍷
Originally the stunning property was an apricot orchard owned by the pioneering Riddle family in the early 1900’s. Joining that spirit were Vera and Bohumir Klokocka arriving from Czechoslovakia to purchase in 1979 and plant their dream vines in 1984. Next, creation of the beautifully rustic European grist mill design timber frame we see today all laden with white pine and Douglas fir beams truly transports you to the historic countryside still preserved.
Carry on to present, Award winning Veteran winemaker Kathy Malone (Calona Vineyards, Mission Hill) dazzles you with her terroir driven, minimal intervention portfolio. Simple and elegant! Hillside Winery
With Chef Evan Robertson (Hardware Grill, Aerie Resort, Pig & Duke) leaving his mark on the Naramata Bench with locally sourced, terroir to table, seasonal menu- it’s a “Must Visit”! The Bistro at Hillside Winery *Chef Evan’s culinary masterpiece at Hardware grill was Edmonton’s longstanding Awarded and best restaurants & one of my favourite foodie recommendations when I was Concierge for Fairmont* 🏆
Awesome service, rustic historic building with lakeside views and always beautiful menu. 🇨🇦🥂🍷Thank you Sarah for looking after us and treating us like a VIP! So nice to see you Sionne- keep up the great work!
Don't skip this restaurant if you are in the area. Can't say enough great things about them. You must try yourself.
What an experience. Did a tasting, and the wine was some of the best in the region. Joined the members club! Then, dinner upstairs was an unparalleled culinary adventure. They're doing it the right way here.
We stopped in for a quick wine tasting. We brought our dog and 3 year old son and they were very accommodating! Tim was fantastic and knowledgeable. Thanks for the great experience
I have been here many times over the years, so this review was difficult. First, the awesome: staff is always friendly, personable and knowledgeable, I do feel too often our glasses sat empty, but our server had several tables and we were in no rush. The pork belly & scallops appetizer was divine as was the charcuterie board with a nice sampling of local cheeses and such. Desert was fantastic as well. Now for the main event. We came specifically for the 55oz tomahawk. Its description sounded fantastic, and it was presented beautifully. Where the tomahawk goes sideways is that it came out lukewarm, at best. And perhaps that is the reason it had very little flavour. Perhaps that was the temperature it was cooked to, or perhaps it sat too long at the pass bar before being brought out. The sides were very nice but a little on the light side for such a meat forward meal for 4 people and I would suggest ordering an extra dish for 4 people. I was quite disappointed as I have heard such fantastic things about the Chef and as it is the “Chef's Signature Dish,” expected more for a 180.00 plate. Would I order the Chef's Signature again? No. Will I go back? Absolutely. This was a a great place and I am putting this down to a one off.

If you can be seated on the rooftop patio, you'll get wonderful views across Okanagan Lake.
Outstanding as usual. The pork belly and scallop dish features a two large scallops and two good-sized portions. All cooked perfectly. The mushroom appie was huge and delicious. You won't leave hungry!! It is pricey but worth it.
Really dissatisfied with the food and being tortured by the sun, a predictable and mitigable force, as we sat. The lamb leg was 2/3rds inedible fat for $72. Served oddly with foot-long pasta noodles to be served from a common plate. Our vegetarian could not have a proper meal. Was served a minuscule “main” salad consisting of 4 tomato pieces and 2 tiny boccacini morsels for $18. Service was great. I felt sorry for the server having to be the face of these terrible shortcomings that were not her fault. She did not ask how our food was, as I'm sure she already knew the answer. Obviously a huge investment put into this place, but follow through on the most important elements - feeding and not torturing your patrons via the sun...all for high end prices, make it a place to miss. Felt Albertan. Weird vibe.
The service at Hillside was fantastic and the food was amazing. The wine pairing was spot on. Would highly recommend Hillside for dinner.
My son and DIL took me to this wonderful winery. We enjoyed a very informative wine tasting hosted by Cathy. She was as delightful as the wine she was presenting. After selecting some bottles of wine to take home we made our way to their bistro. Our server Sarah was amazing. She was fun, knowledgeable, and very attentive. The food was very good. It was a memory making evening. Thank you Hillside Winery. You are doing it right!
