Visited last year and it was wonderful. That is no longer the case.

The food is expensive and mediocre. I ordered an omelette and after asking what was in it was told it was a cheese omelette base and you add your fillings. No mention of extra prices for the fillings and based off the $18 cost of the omelette I didn’t ask as $18 seemed reasonable for an omelette with a few toppings.

The omelette ended up costing me $29. They charged $3 for cheese (which they said was already in it), $3 for spinach and $5 for ham.

The omelette arrived cold, with a slice of Kraft singles melted on top and I had to ask for the toast that was supposed to come with it. The toast was basically dust.

Others at the table ordered French toast which was just dry bread with a bit of cinnamon on it.

Heard there were new owners. I hope they read this and sort out their issues. As of right now they’ve ruined a really great little spot in Penticton.

Unfortunately we returned this year to find a whole different experience. The food was sub par at best. The coffee was the best part of the breakfast. Overpriced food. The French Toast was barely coated and tasted like plain toast. The omelette was deceiving on the menu - is a plain omelette without anything in it. The waitress told us it was a cheese omelette and we could choose our add ins. Those ended up being $3-5 for each add in without us knowing. A $30 omelette that was barely warm so the cheese was not melted. We will not be returning and would not recommend to others.

A few months ago, this was my favorite restaurant in Penticton. The menu WAS incredible and original with the best duck dish in town. Now it's just another pub menu with items I can get ANYWHERE. So incredibly disappointed.

What a waste of time and money this place is! We visited in the morning for breakfast and my French toast was basically 2 slices of soggy Wonder Bread with barely a hint of cinnamon… it was bland at best. The smashed potatoes lacked flavour and were just a bit “squished” not even “smashed”. The atmosphere is dark and dingy with a weird shared hallway of gross bathrooms. The chairs are uncomfortable and are paired with tables that are too low. They also had a radio station playing quite loudly but with lots of static… nobody working there noticed how loud all the static was and decided to go fix it? Nope! But I suppose that makes sense since they are clearly very clueless on what a good restaurant atmosphere is. Will never go back and I hope this place closes forever.

We had a very good brunch. The food and service satisfied us. If we come to Pentiction again, will come back.

Unfortunately menu has changed under new ownership, with many of the innovative and fun elements simplified. Now ranks as a good bistro for Penticton, but not at the same standard as the old Nest. Hopefully this is teething problems that will be resolved!

We were really excited to eat here but it was pretty disappointing and super expensive. It took a while for the server to come to our table, as we had to ask for service. I asked what was in the omelette because it was unclear on the menu. The server responded, ‘it is just eggs and you can add whatever you want to it’ and proceeded to list the ingredients. She never once mentioned that each ingredient was $3.00 and I ordered what would normally be a Denver omelette. I was charged $12.00 for just omelette ingredients and so was my partner. When I asked about it at the end, there was no apology, she just said ‘it’s all right here at the bottom’ to which she pointed to the sides of bacon and sausage for $5.00 without mention of veggies costing $3.00 per vegetable. It should not cost 75.00 for breakfast for 2 people, with poor service as well.

Very disappointing.

We used to love the food and service at The Nest.
Sadly enough, The Nest is under new ownership. The kitchen cooks and the servers have changed. The present menu is very limited, although our server said that the new owners will be revising the present menu. We ordered salmon benedict which arrived lukewarm. The presentation was very lack lustre...only accompanied with some sauteed potatoes. The benedict itself was skinny...one very thin slice of salmon lox and a bit of spinach. In addition, we were never offered refills on the coffee.
We left feeling hungry and very disappointed! The new owners not only need to revise their limited menu, but also need to coach their kitchen staff on how to provide more appealing and substantial meals!

The Nest unfortunately has gone downhill. Service is still good, but the quality of the food is equivalent to Denny’s. Price is too high for the quality. Do not come here if you are expecting the old “The Nest”. Super sad to see the change.

Thought we would try out this little hole in the wall, well it didn’t turnout so well. The chicken strips should have been called pigeon strips they were thin and deep fried to have the consistency of beef jerky. Thank god for the sauce otherwise it would have absorbed all the moisture from your mouth. The service was good that’s it. Not coming back here.

Miss the older owner - the quality of food is on a steep decline.
