Little Bavaria Restaurant

Went recently for a very special occasion. The food was good, we had starters, dinner, many drinks and desserts all around. Unfortunately, despite it being a special occasion and spending quite a bit including generous tip, we were told by two different servers that we had to leave as someone else was waiting for the table. We weren't lingering, so it was unfortunate. I've never been rushed out of a restaurant before. Left a unpleasant taste in our mouths that clouded the otherwise great evening.

We 7 had supper on a Sunday. It's not a big place, so reservations are strongly recommended. The welcome was friendly and we were seated after our tables were bussed. Our server was polite, friendly and professional.

We had beers and cocktails first; they came quickly and they were fine. We ordered. We received a basket of bread and tasty rye bread. We'd finished our cocktails when the mains came. All came with soup or salad. All were very large servings and were all very well prepared. We got one dessert and two specialty coffees to finish. We each left with a take out box!

Overall we can highly recommend this restaurant for good German food if in Port Alberni.

It's been over 25 years since I've been there and the food is as fabulous as I remember. Portions are generous so come with an appetite!

I was in town for a course and was recommended by the locals to try this restaurant—it did not disappoint! The service was excellent, and the staff were very friendly, answering all our questions. The food was spectacular, with generous portions. I’ll definitely make a detour to Port Alberni next time I’m back on the island just to visit Little Bavaria again!"

After 2 weeks in canada, we really enjoyed some domestic food. The schnitzel were tasty, the service great and even german background music.
Only complaint is that the weizen was served in a wrong glass.

Be transported to Germany and taste the tradition and feel the warmth and love of an Oma's cooking at this incredible restaurant.

The food screams comfort and tradition. The prices for portion sizes are incredible and the service is utterly exceptional. It feels like coming home to Grandma's kitchen. ♥️

The best German restaurant in BC and Alberta. This was our second time here during the years but it is always amazing. Even though the ownership has changed but everything else re.ained the same. Grate atmosphere, even better food.

I wish I could give you 10* because everything here was exceptional.

My Fiancee brought me here tonight, I have 1 week before heading home to San Antonio Texas.

The meal was spectacular.
Jager Schnitzel, Spaetzle, Red Cabbage, and the waitress suggested for me to have Erdinger and I had 2. Our waitress was a dear I bought a Ball cap, and an XL t-shirt. She offered me an Erdinger glass.

OMG I will be here again, August 2025. When I return to Vancouver Island.

We were welcomed warmly, it’s a cozy atmosphere. We had the barvarian dinner for two and it was delicious and had a great presentation. The serving size was almost double of what we could comfortably eat. Fast, friendly and polite service

A quaint and beautiful restaurant. We were there on a Tuesday and lucked out that a reservation was canceled! Otherwise it would have been a wait. Make sure to reserve a spot!
Food was absolutely amazing! The Mushroom schnitzel and spaetzel are so good!! And get the salad! The Dill house ranch I could have drank it was so yummy!

Very very good German food. We had the Little Bavaria platter for two. You name it, and it was there. chicken cordon Blu, Jager snitzel, weiner snitzel, bratwurst, spatzle, pan fried potatoes, carrots broccoli, red cabbage sauerkraut all very yummy. The amount of food and the quality of this food far far exceeds the cost. Afterwards I never have room for dessert but the black forest cake is so tempting and again delicious. Everything is made in house
. The restaurant has been here since 1966 they must be doing something right! Do yourself a favor and try this hidden gem of a restaurant. Reservations are highly recommended. Not too many of you try it, please. I still want to be able to get a table when I need my cravings satisfied. ?

Vegetarian options: Several vehicles options. Hot vehicles plate looks great. Good soups too.

Parking: Smaller maybe 15 tables.

Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs and it is very family oriented.

Exceptional experience. Ashley our waitress was fantastic, took the time to chat and share her life while doing her job. Food proportion was hugeeee = exceptional again. Well done folks, out of a 5 star rating I give you a 6, cheers...
