We arrived at Port Alberni in need of a Beer and a good home cooked meal. Tracy and the kitchen at Pastimes Bar and Grill were exactly what the Doctor ordered. Tracy is a sweet heart and and a wealth of local knowledge.

Delicious dinner and super service! The black bean quesadilla was scrumptious, salad fresh and I ate far too much, but it was sooo good. Despite being the only server, Tracy looked after me really well and even had a great suggestion for a walk to work off the overindulgence. I particularly liked that, although a sports bar, TVs were visible but not blaring or even audible, so all patrons could enjoy their preference… the meal, conversation and/or the games.

Nice and casual place to stop in for a beer and snack, patrons were friendly.We got the nachos they were great lots of toppings! They had beers on tap from "twin city Brewing" they were good though a very small drink menu;Not much selection.Didn't find the server friendly, she was in a rush to leave our table rather than answer questions or offer recommendations.

We went to Pastimes the other night for the first time. We were helped by Tiesha (sp?) who was an amazing waitress!!! She was patient and so friendly but not intrusive. The food which came so so quickly, was outstanding. The menu was wonderful and the food even better. So often when we go out the food ends up being disappointing but not this night!!!! We absolutely will be going back and going back!!!

We booked the hotel for the day of the wedding, forgetting that we would need a place to get ready for the 2:30 pm wedding after travelling to Port Alberni. I reached out to the hotel to request an early check-in....they were full and check out time is 12 noon. I got put on a list for early check-in. We were delighted to be able to get into the room, unpack and get ready with lots of time to spare. So appreciated....thank you!

The Barclay is one of our favourite places to stay! The AC is always on when we arrive (so grateful for this with the hot weather we have been having) the staff is always super friendly. The cafe is wonderful, the rooms are clean , the beds are comfortable. I do wish the sofa bed had a thicker mattress, but everything else is perfect.

We were very pleased with our stay at Best Western Plus Barclay in Port Alberni. The front desk staff were always friendly and helpful. The housekeeping was fantastic and did a great job freshening up the room. The room itself was spacious and clean, and the beds were comfortable. My son thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor pool. We will definitely stay here again!

Clean rooms, great staff, nice clean pool, hot tub and sauna. Rooms are quite small, but if you’re just there to sleep it’s fine. Close to everything and easy walking to the water and other restaurants nearby.

Beds were very comfortable and the staff was super nice. I was very disappointed there was no laundry and having stayed in over 50 BW with laundry I was taken back. When on a road trip clean clothes are important and no one wants to go to a laundromat after driving all day.

Room was clean well appointed, hotel is central to all dining, enjoyed many breakfasts in the Stamp Restaurant, great staff. Only single detractor was an older lady (staff) at the front desk who had made rude and inappropriate comments, management should consider removing her from engaging with clients directly.
