Maybe an off night? But very expensive for what we ate. Almost an hour wait for entrees, with only one other table occupied. Salmon way over cooked, dry & crispy. Tenderloin way undercooked; not as we requested. Pappardelle had lots of mushrooms and was good. Whilst tasty, the watermelon salad was very minimal. Good wine list, very nice atmosphere, food quite expensive and underwhelming.

Fabulous menu and true to its goal of being indigenous inspired. The entree “Tides and Pasture Platter” was a fantastic feast for two, at only $23. They also offered very reasonably priced quality bottles of wine.

ha’me’ Restaurant strikes a great balance between modern dining and cultural storytelling. The contemporary setting is elevated by striking Indigenous-inspired art, creating an atmosphere that feels both stylish and meaningful. The service was flawless – warm, attentive, and perfectly timed.

The menu is on the smaller side, and while everything we tried was executed really well – the tuna tataki was fantastic, the wild mushroom pasta rich and flavorful, and the bison short rib tender (though missing a bit of sauce and punch) – the overall selection left me wishing for a bit more creativity and a stronger local touch.

All in all, it was a memorable evening with excellent service and very good food, but the menu could use that extra spark to truly match the promise of the setting.

We’ve been to Ha’me’ restaurant twice now, and each time has been such a wonderful experience. The service is warm and attentive, the food is absolutely delicious, and the overall atmosphere makes it a place you truly want to come back to.

We had a wonderful diner at this restaurant! We had the glazed salmon and mushroom pasta and both were very tasty and well served! To add to the experience, our waitress was extremely nice and welcoming! I would recommend to anyone visiting the area !

Without a shadow of a doubt the best food you’ll find in Port Hardy, maybe even the entire northern island. Any of the main dishes are a fantastic choice. Couldn’t even take a picture because I ate it so fast, after a week of travel eating in other local restaurants, this place was a saving grace

First Rate First Class restaurant with locally inspired options.. amazing setting and artwork too - couldn’t recommend highly enough - we’re lucky on our North Island to have this option

Visiting Port Hardy for whale and grizzly bear watching and on our last night went to Ha’me’ restaurant. What an incredible meal! We had the K’awat’si Sheperd’s Pie, Smoked Chicken Supreme and the Seared Beef Tenderloin – which were all excellent and so delicious – so good that I completely forgot to take photos of our desserts, each of which was stupendous! I’d actually come back just for the desserts alone, unusual because I often find that, after an amazing meal, desserts are a bit of an afterthought. The service was outstanding and the décor a stunning contrast to our two days at sea being buffeted by wind and waves. Subdued lighting enhanced by spotlights on the beautiful native masks hanging on the walls.

We highly recommend this gorgeous restaurant, however, opening times are limited, so check before you go.

I seldom give a restaurant five stars. But ha'me in Port Hardy deserves it. Fine elegant dining at it's best. The setting is lovely, with soft lighting, elegant wood, and native art work. Service is impeccable, without being stifling. The food was very good. The hot and cold seafood appetizer was amazing. My wife had the chicken, and she said it was very good. I had the tenderloin and although it was overdone for my taste (I like rare, rare, bloody and barely warm steak. My fault for not specifying this) it was well seasoned and delicious.

Yes it's expensive for Port Harvey, but fine dining is expensive. All in all, highly recommended.

Note on my ratings:  2-3 stars, average quality, service and value, acceptable, but you could do better. 4 stars, above average quality, service and/or ambiance. 5 stars is reserved for exceptional quality, service and atmosphere.

Smoked sablefish tasted watery, ravioli was undercooked. Service was attentive and excellent. Overall quite pricey for the meal.

Went for dinner last night, was very very impressed. This is the first time we've been since it re-opened (we're locals). The menu is a higher than average price point so you would maybe have higher expectations for the food, I'm happy to say it exceeded in that department. The service was also top notch, they've really set the bar high for a dinner experience. Every single thing we ordered was fantastic..... i would highly recommend this place, I know we'll be back again soon.
