Found this store pop up at the Japanese Market in Vancouver. The sir’s service was quite rude. My mother and I wanted to buy mochi and cakes, and he kept ignoring us. Other people who were non Asian came by the stall and he offered samples to them and greeted them and kept helping them. In the end we just walked away because we stood there for five minutes and he kept ignoring us.

We love the chestnut birthday cake we got! The texture of the cake is spongy and smooth and the cream just melts in your mouth. The cake is sweet but not overly sweet, the chestnut filling is very fine and tastes fresh, and the cream is like a good ice cream. (Not like some cheap cream on some cakes that has a foam-like gummy texture, just a blob of oil that doesn't melt even after you swallowed it.) Anyways, we enjoyed the cake we bought!

Used to be really good with old owners. The cakes were always stuffed with fruit and had a ton of flavor. The chocolate cake now is extremely dry and hardly any flavor. Used to be super worth the money but with the rapid decline in quality, my family won't be returning

Such a gem!!! Everything is fresh and made with quality products. The strawberry roll cake is delicious, fresh ingredients and very tasty, one of my new favourites. But for me the crown goes to the original pudding, so yummy!
Staff is very friendly and welcoming 😊

I had a terrific visit to Cake ya today (as always).
They had so many wonderful items that I wish I could have gotten one of each. I got 2 cakes and 3 new delicious puddings I had never had before. Great desserts and terrific people make this a great place to come back to. The best dessert shop anywhere.

Tiny Japanese bakery specializing in roll cake, cheese cake and pudding. Tried chestnut roll cake and no bake cheese cake (レアチーズケーキ) and they were both good.

My favorite is still their pudding specifically the original plain kind. It can be bought at Asian grocers such as Fujiya, Konbini, and Hmart. It is very smooth with good custard flavour.

They made a green tea & red bean birthday cake for us so quickly!
