Despite wonderful sourdough bread options, I cannot stand going to that bakery due to the line-ups! You can stand there for 30 mins listening how people cannot decide what they want or they want to tell their life story to a person who is trying to cash them out! If you have time to waste definitely visit the place.
My suggestion to the people who work there, please ask your customers to hurry up, not everyone has the luxury to wait in lines.

I've visited this bakery twice now, and while the food and coffee are quite good, the service is consistently disappointing. During our first visit, while the food and coffee were enjoyable, the service left a lot to be desired. My wife and I spent a lovely morning enjoying our breakfast here, but unfortunately, the experience was soured by rudeness. After we had finished eating, my wife was berated by one of the baristas (possibly the owner) when she used the restroom, claiming it was only for customers – despite the fact that we were paying customers.
I would suggest that the staff be a bit more considerate and approachable when addressing customers. A little kindness and understanding would go a long way in making the atmosphere as pleasant as the baked goods.

I had an extensive internal debate about whether I should write a review, because I don't want this place to get so busy that I can't get my fix. But this place deserves the recognition. I lived close by for a few years and came here religiously. I love everything about this place - the concept, product, location, service. Cascadia is a family owned, artisanal bakery where everything is made from scratch with local, high quality ingredients. If you come late, stuff will be sold out (and that's a good thing). They don't give to-go cups for coffee and they limit their use of plastic packaging. There are a bunch of other coffee shops in PoMo if you want a paper cup.
I've been trolling farmer's markets and bakeries across the Lower Mainland for years and Cascadia has the best sourdough...it's uncontested! My go-tos are the Grande or Ridge batards, but don't sleep on their Sunday shokupan. There are special items for holidays and their menu changes seasonally - follow their IG to stay up to date. I hope they never change and I'm looking forward to coming back soon.

Really affordable still - $5.50 for a very fancy, seasonal danish. Super cute inside and out! Free parking all around.

A small bakery and coffee place run by two brothers.
All baked goods are fresh and made out of organic products and local produce where possible.
You should try the cardamom buns. Heard they sell out of those by 10am.
I haven't had their drinks, so can't vouch for how good they are, but I have seen them prepared with outmost care.

I found this place a year ago and immediately fell in love with it. I personally think it’s the best in the tri-city area, offering high-standard, quality pastries that aren't overpriced.
What really stands out to me is that it's a business owned and run by people who genuinely care about what they do. They maintain the same high standards in such a professional way. The owners remind me of those charming shops on Commercial Drive, where we've been going for decades. Their passion and dedication truly shine through in every aspect of the business.
If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by and experiencing it for yourself.

Friendly staff, nice ambiance, and a thoughtful menu. The tarts I purchased were top tier, they didn’t even make it past the drive home. Brownies were excellent and my cortado was evidently made by an experienced hand. I’m impressed.

One of the best flat whites I've ever had. Can't wait to come back for some baker goods as well! A new favourite.
I want to say thank you for skipping the tipping section while just grabbing take out. I rarely ever see this in the city. In fact this is only the second time I have ever encountered this. Thank you for not making it awkward or pressuring take out customers to tip! Because of this experience as well as the delicious baked goods I am definitely coming back and will tell others to do the same.

This review is almost 2.5 years overdue because in early 2022 I moved from my longtime office in Mount Pleasant (where I was spoiled with lots of great coffee options!) to the beautiful Port Moody! To my frustration, I could not find any decent coffee in the area until one day I passed by Cascadia and was very intrigued to come in as a I saw their simple yet cozy interiors as well as a really beautiful layout of baked goodies. Alas, I very quickly became a daily regular and now with my toddler, an almost every other day regular. We respect, admire and love their craft and all they do for the community! As many others wrote, they tend to sell out fast so I recommend coming before 1 pm on weekdays and definitely before 12 on weekends. Beyond baked goodies, one of their most popular products is the bread in addition to amazing espresso from their partners at Continuum Coffee. You will also be pleased to know that Cascadia very much supports the local farming community and sources all of their ingredients from local farmers in tri-cities, the valley and beyond! I won't speak for them so just ask next time you come in! Highly recommend this bakery - all I have is praise praise for them! Enjoy some of my most delicious photos from them!
Kid-friendliness: There is a lovely fire truck inside that so many kids love (including my own) as well as an awesome courtyard with a sand pit just around the block if you want to have your treats outside while your kids(s) play!
