A charming little cafe with well made espresso drinks. It's currently located in the same space as a condo developer's showroom, which is kinda cool. Great view of the play space for little kids the in plaza. Definitely worth the trip!
They have fantastic beans (stumptown from Portland). The vibe is cool. And the staff is super friendly.
Unfortunately, the baristas aren’t trained up very well to making lattes, cappuccinos or other milk based drinks. I really don’t mean to sound pretentious but put more effort into the art of the coffee than the art on the walls.
I stick to americanos and buy beans for takeaway.

Enjoyed they iced matcha latte. Great space with cool eclectic artwork. Nice space to spend some time and have a coffee or a treat. Didn't try their food but they also have lunch.

We only just recently discovered GRIT and have been visiting a few times in the last two weeks. The first time we were in, we liked the coffee and the space so much that we bought one of their super cute tote bags. This morning, I thought it would be nice to wear the bag when we went for coffee there, as a point of pride in supporting them, but as we were leaving after our stay the barista ran out after us and asked if we were planning to pay for it...when I had walked in the door wearing the bag. It's not a super nice feeling to be accused of stealing something when you'd purchased it precisely TO support local business. :/ I would suggest to the management installing a security tag system or keeping merchandise behind the counter to avoid future situations like this from occurring. While I totally understand the need to stay on top of theft (every dollar counts in a small business), you'll risk losing loyal (non-stealing!) customers if you run out into the street after them launching those kinds of accusations. Everything else at GRIT is 5/5 stars, and I'm really only posting this in the hopes that management sees it and improves this one issue to keep their amazing cafe and studio going strong for years to come!

Everytime I come here I tell myself I will never come back because although the food and drinks are great, the service can definitely be worked on.

The interior using old props was impressive. There were quite a few unique chairs and tables.
On days when the weather is nice, you can also enjoy coffee at the 2-3 outdoor tables placed on the outside wall of the coffee shop.
The iced Americano I ordered was ordinary and had a slightly sour taste. Overall, this coffee shop had a unique and pretty atmosphere.
Parking: There are many free street parking spots across from the store.

Nice little coffee shop with sandwiches and snacks, eclectic furnishings and friendly staff. Something different from all the clone cafes.

I love lattes, I have tried many great ones, however, my absolute favourite place is Grit. It’s the coolest place too. I feel just as happy knowing I am supporting local. The desserts are large, shareable and delicious. I hope this place is enjoyed by you too! oh cool staff too!
