Delicious food in a friendly atmosphere. Great lunch specials! My goto is the sambal prawns, but also like the char kuey tao and the thai curry (less sweet than other places which I appreciate:). Generally I ask for mild here.

I had a really disappointing experience at Kurumba today. This used to be my favourite restaurant. I have been coming here ever since I moved to Port Moody. Since I am moving to Maple Ridge tomorrow, I thought I would have a small farewell dinner at my favourite spot. I was of course planning to revisit even after the move, but less frequently.
I ordered the Nasi Goreng and Szechuan beef. The Nasi Goreng was perfect, just as it has always been. But the Szechuan beef was so salty that it was difficult to eat. When I mentioned this to the waitress (an older Asian lady) and asked if they could fix it or swap it for something else, she simply said nobody else had complained and they could not do anything about it. She even suggested I take it home and fix it myself by adding water or something.
If I wanted to cook my own meal, I would not have come to a restaurant. At the very least, they should have offered to remove that item from the bill, but they did not.
I am really disappointed to have experienced this at Kurumba of all places, especially after so many great visits in the past.

Delicious and homemade vegetable curry with roti. Others had murtabak, which was great. The owner told us it was homemade and everything is made from scratch. You can definitely taste the difference.
All their dishes are so delicious. We make it a point to stop here and have their dishes.

Hqve not been here for about 10 months. Are there new owners? The roto canaii was ok, the char hor fun was ok altho the squid was tough. The worst dish was the sambar green beans. NO spice/kick and the beans were tough. They were not tender at all. Change of chef? We won't be going back any time soon. Disappointed. Used to be so good!!

Truly delicious, authentic, wonderful Sri Lankan food!! We tried the Kotthu, Beef Curry, Pork Curry, Noodles, the Potato/Bean/Carrot Curry, and the Nasi Goreng. All the Sri Lankan dishes were IMPECCABLE. The koththu was smoky and unbelievable. Curries were seasoned to perfection with clearly Sri Lankan spices and slow cooked so that there were really rich, spicy flavor profiles. Flavors were incredible and exactly how they are back home! My only critique would be some of the portion sizes. The curries are decently sized but the rice (yellow rice and white rice) are small bowls and we had to buy several to feed our crowd but only one of each curry. The Nasi Goreng was not our favorite.. it didn’t come with the fried egg or chicken skewers/satay like we’re used to, and flavor wise too it was like a soy fried rice, no notable lemongrass flavor. But other than that, The servers and chef were also super friendly and helpful and all the other dishes were truly amazing! Overall we had a wonderful experience and really really enjoyed the food. Best spot I’ve been to so far for Sri Lankan food, highly recommend!

Love this place! The Sri Lankan beef curry is a must if you like spicy food!
Comparing to other Asian restaurants in Vancouver, the portions are smaller. Food is normal and nothing special in cooking and taste.
Not bad .
Everything was delicious. The spicy Mongolian beef with crispy noodles, kotthu roti curry, and the yang chow fried rice was literally perfect. It was enough to feed my family of 4 too. 100% would go again. Also very fast service.
